I bought vital saving by Aetna and it has been a horrible nightmare! Don’t do it !!!!!!! The rudeness and willingness to take money and have fraudulent webpages seems to be OK with them. Stay away from it.

Aetna is not an American company, they dont deserve even 1 star, they do not have anyone no customer service that you can speak to anywhere in the united States there is no Aetna office to go to, they are not in your or any state that you can speak to a real person and get help in any state in the USA you will always get redirected to *********** ** ***** and they do not have patient care coordinators, or patient advocates. Aetna is a phony insurance company.
Go to their page on any social platform and see all the frustrated customers, they do not cover anything and they are frauds. It is a terrible thing when you are ill and need care to find out you won't get any care because the company you signed up with is a fraud.
Please do not choose aetna, do research before you choose an insurance company. Aetna just collects your payments and when you need help there is no one that will actually help you.
Any legitimate USA based insurance company has a care coordinator, or a patient advocate, to help you navigate your benefits and get the best care, it is your right to have one, but Aetna reps do not even know what that is, and they do not have one, they also never cover any treatments, I see people being distraught on their page not getting their bills paid. This is not right. please stay clear of this company

If I could give a 0 star I would. I got them so I could receive my medication ******. They told me they would cover it fully. After a month of back and forth with them and my doctors I find out they don’t even cover ******. It’s 2400$ minimum. They said I could chose to pay 500$ of it out of poket each month and that’s all they could offer. so I canceled them, asked for a refund as I did not use them at all. They refunded me the first payment promised me auto pay was stopped. Then continued to pull my money out for 2 months. Now it’s been 3 months of back and forth trying to get them to simply stop charging me for a service they could not provide. DO NOT GO THROUGH THEM. THEY WILL BE OF NO HELP. AND ARE EXTREMELY RUDE OVER THE PHONE. by far the worst insurance company I have ever had to deal with. Anyone who supports this company including its workers must really hate their lives.

Aetna ************** Insurance is one of the worst! I'm an educator and our options are very limited, so we are stuck with Aetna ***************  You are not approved for any form of weight loss medications or procedures. You are very seldom approved to see any specialist of any kind, and if you do, you are going to pay an arm and leg to do so. Whether it's your heart, leg, back, throat, toe, or foot, it seems the doctors are programmed to prescribe ***********  It's otherly ridiculous. I am looking for independent insurance right now because I've thrown money away dealing with Aetna ***************

Dear Medicare Members, I am writing this letter regarding a situation that happened to me regarding Aetna. I went to my doctor's office and received both shingle shots. A representative from Aetna told me to file a claim form along with receipts showing that the shots were paid for. I did this but Aetna is refusing to pay me back. They claim a check was sent to the provider but when I checked it out - no check was issued. This has been confirmed by 3 representatives from Aetna. Reference -Aire, Pharmacy - Neil and Member Services -Kim .
Now I have been told a check was sent to the wrong address and a new one sent out. But it has been a while and no check. The total cost for both shots was $424.00
Aetna is just making excuses. I am not going to continue with them and strongly suggest you find some else.

Medicare has changed the rules in 2025 to reduce the maximum out-of-pocket for many people. This means the insurance companies have to adjust their plans to maintain the profits. Everyone I know has been told their existing plan is changed or not longer offered.
As for Aetna, I was going to find new insurance anyway. In 2024, they denied a claim for my annual blood test because the odctor included a PSA test, adn Aetna required that the PSA test be done no sooner than 12 months since the previous one. My annual test happened to be scheduled a week too early. It took three calls to Aetna to find out that this reuirement was buried in the fine print of the policy, and shown nowhere in the information given to me OR "customer service" apparently.
In another case, they denied a claim related to cataract surgery on my left eye. They paid the calim for my right eye, which was done first. But when the EXACT same claim detail was submitted for the left eye, they refused to pay. They said I was missing information, so I got the information they required and they denied the claim for a different reason. This went on for SEVEN TIMES, with excuses that got more and more ridiculous. They always made up a new excuse and never paid.
I appealed, but the appeal board didnt even read my claim. They said Aetna was within their rights to deny it. I could request a hearing, but only if the amound exceeded the amount of my claim, so no, I could NOT get a hearing.
I finally gave up. Don't trust Aetna to pay your claim.

      Dear Medicare Members,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to bring an important issue to your attention regarding the selection of primary care physicians (PCPs) through certain healthcare insurance providers.
It has come to my attention that Aetna Healthcare Insurance is currently experiencing a system problem when it comes to selecting in-network PCPs on their website. This issue may lead to confusion and complications for members seeking to access the care they need. Additionally, Anthem Blue Cross has also been reported to have similar system difficulties pertaining to the selection of in-network PCPs.
Given these challenges, I want to urge you to carefully consider your options when choosing a Medicare Advantage Plan. It may be in your best interest to avoid selecting Aetna Healthcare Insurance and Anthem Blue Cross until these system issues are resolved. Ensuring access to an in-network PCP is crucial for your healthcare experience, and I believe it is important for you to have a seamless process in place.
Your health and wellbeing are paramount, and I encourage you to explore other insurance providers that can offer a more reliable and user-friendly experience for selecting your primary care physician.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
      Wishing you health and happiness.
      Sincerely, ******* ******

Aetna is one of the SLEAZIEST companies I’ve ever dealt with.
When I was signing up for insurance, I looked at the options, and they all had different plans to reimburse people for fitness plans.
The Aetna option offered reimbursement for a bunch of things like sneakers, which were prominently advertised, so I chose them. AS SOON AS THE PLAN STARTED, THEY REMOVED THAT OPTION.
Obviously, I could win in court if I wanted to go through the hassle, but I don’t. They should go to JAIL. Scumbags.
By phone, they will then tell you that they have a “private list” of things that are approved. They do NOT publish it online. They will paper mail it to you in 2 weeks, but won’t email it to you.
Then, for any items that you want a reimbursement for, they will take 45 days to pay the reimbursement.
      Scumbags.
