1 starWe disputed charges on a business account for internet services that should have been terminated. We requested the closure of the account on 6/30/2022, but we have continued to a monthly automatic payment for these services that we are no longer using. The details of our dispute are as follows:
1. We contacted the customer service department on 6/30/2022 to cancel the internet service and returned the equipment.
2. We were assured that the account would be closed, and no further charges would be applied.
3. Despite this, we have received bills which have been automatically deducted from our account for $129.98 for the months of 7/2022 through 10/2024 for a total of $3,509.46.
4. When we called on 10/8/2024 to talk to them about the charges we were told they would have to look and see if the equipment had been returned. They found the equipment in their stock but could not tell how long it had been there due to their internal recordkeeping.
5. We were finally able to hear back on 12/4/24 that the internal recordkeeping of the equipment returned 6/30/22 was resolved and our account could be closed, but we would only receive a refund of 2 months due to their internal record keeping. We did our part to return the equipment and initiate closing the account and had to pay for internet services beyond that for equipment we did not have and an address of a building that we did not even occupy at that point.Review fromJohn G

1 starI had their Internet services for a few years. ATT installed fiber optic on my street and we changed before the end of our billing cycle, and I returned their equipment at their store. I continued receiving bills for months for service I no longer had, and they sent it to collections.
Do not do business with this company.Review fromNick B

1 starEvery time I turn around there is an Internet outage. It’s just all the time it’s Abnormal that the Internet goes out this much and they don’t seem to want to fix the problem. It’s been doing this for a very long time and I am fed up.Review fromRick D

1 starI ordered some watches for my kids. When they arrived, I found out Spectrum does not support the features that I bought the watches for (my mistake for purchasing online instead of going into a store to talk to a real person I guess). Within 2 days of receiving the watches, I tried to return them. They want a $100 restocking fee to return them, which is 16% of the total cost of the watches. Customer service was completely unhelpful and essentially told me there was nothing they could do because I was the one who initiated the purchase. There was not even an attempt to help me with the situation, just a "sorry about your luck" now pay us our $100.
Just a few months back, my internet went out during a birthday party for my kid (I had a whole house full of people). I called, and Spectrum sent someone out within a few hours. However, the tech could not figure out the problem and was frustrated because it was taking too long (he confirmed the problem was on Spectrum's end, not my equipment), and his jobs were starting to back up because the issue at my house was taking too long to resolve. He asked me if I would be willing to move my WIFI router to the basement (where, for some reason that he could not explain, the internet was working) as a temporary means to have internet, and then to call spectrum again the next day to reschedule an appointment so that another tech could come out and have more time to troubleshoot. I accommodated, because I understand things do not always go as planned.
So, to summarize, they are unwilling to wave any part of a $100 restocking fee for a device that is still brand new (I've had in my possession for all of 2 days) yet they have no problem asking me to help them because they are running behind on their service calls. Customer service at this company is a joke. I will be cancelling my internet and phone service with Spectrum.Review fromClarence W

1 starI tried canceling my cable and home phone via call and the rep on the other end of the line started yelling at me and screaming. Said he wouldn't help me and put me on indefinite hold. Very unprofessional and one of the worse customer service experiences I've ever had.Review fromBarry B

1 starI am writing about Spectrum's Wireless service, particularly their trade-in policies on their devices. In the past, when it became time to upgrade my devices, I went to Samsung directly, and I paid a couple of hundred bucks to upgrade from a device to the most recent device. Done deal. The salesman at the Spectrum store told me that they matched Samsung's pricing, and ostensibly, I traded my phone and received the same discount as Samsung - HOWEVER, the discount was spread out in my cell bill for Spectrum. My statements show the device as having a $950 dollar balance. Chat with Spectrum stated that that didn't include my discount which was spread out over like 4 or 5 years at $3.55 a month totalling 95.00 and change. I asked him if I could pay off the phone and he said yes, BUT, I had to pay the 950 and the credit amount would be applied toward my monthly bill. I said I would leave Spectrum and he said that I would owe the 950 AND that I wouldn't be entitled to the trade-in allowance! I feel that I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. READ THE CONTRACT BEFORE YOU SIGN WITH THEM AND BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE which is allowed.Review fromMelanie T

1 starMy dad is a disabled Vietnam vet with dementia and I'm his power of attorney. I'm getting his finances in order and finding that several companies have been taking advantage of him which is very disheartening to realize how many horrible people there are out there who will do anything to make a few dollars. My dad has been paying spectrum $288 for services for years. After hours on the phone with Spectrum I finally got authorized to speak on his behalf. This involved stressing my dad out with several calls. After I was authorized I learned that Spectrum recently convinced him to get a mobile phone added to his account. He already has a mobile phone on my acct and he had no idea what they were asking him to do. After a one minute conversation with him it is apparent to anyone that he has dementia so there is no reason for anyone to think it is okay to push him into buying more services. In addition, after I was added to the account each person I was transferred to asked for a pin code, this process involved calling my dad on his home phone and he had to read a number to them each time. (4 times!) This was a long painful process and really stressed my dad out. My dad thinks the home phone is the remote so it was very stressful for him to find it and answer it. I am unfortunately in another state and Spectrum made a very difficult situation 100 times worse with their inefficient processes, lack of understanding and greed. This company's number one goal is to make a profit even if it means taking advantage of seniors who served to protect this country. Shame on Spectrum.Review fromLayne G

1 starI am writing to formally express my frustration with both my billing and the recent service outage.
When I signed up for service at the Spectrum store, I was explicitly told that my monthly bill would be $70. However, I have been consistently charged $120. While the overcharge itself is frustrating, my bigger issue is the poor service quality.
Regarding the outage, I understand that severe weather can cause disruptions, but my internet has been down since the early morning of Friday, March 14, 2025. The lack of timely and accurate updates has made this even more frustrating. Each update text included a timeframe for the next update, yet Spectrum repeatedly failed to send them until six hours past the stated time. Additionally, when I called customer support, I was given no clear estimate for restoration. I was offered a credit, but when I inquired about the amount, I was told that Spectrum does not have that information yet.
This level of service is unacceptable. I expect accurate billing, timely updates during outages, and clear information regarding compensation for service interruptions. Please address these concerns promptly and provide clarity on both my billing and the outage resolution.Review fromMinnea K.

1 starI had internet service from spectrum internet services, T***** *** until today
I decided to terminate my services with them.
The business allows discontinuing of the service on their phone number only
When I called the number to discontinue, the customer service continued talking to continue the service, when I insisted that I need to discontinue the service, I was put on hold and phone silent for ever.
This happened on 2 occasions.
when I tried the 3rd time, the rep told me that they have to try everything to not take my instructions of discontinuing the service.
when I asked for confirmation number for discontinuing, he said he would give me an order number
this is very bad customer service from a company
they should not be allowed to operate like this where they continue to charge and make it very difficult to discontinue their serviceReview fromBrittany M.

1 starNot for the store specifically but for the company call center. Spectrum: customer beware do not set up automatic payment. Overcharged for services implemented by Spectrum. Spectrum implemented TV services once I started automatic bill pay without consent. I went back and forth with 7 people getting told different things from how the tv service was added to the removal. Over charged and no solution. Iv gotten the run around. A few of the associates were nice however Rebecca was condescending. Mike was nice but wanted me to join a phone plan. I have been over charged and lied to while they read me a bs script. Very disappointed in the service and extra charges spectrum has implemented. Make sure you take automatic bill pay off or spectrum will add other services and blame you. They said they removed charges all while charging late fees and will disconnect your service.
