1 starThese guys jerk customers around. We were with them for 8 years + and their bill has risen from the original 50/month to 100. We looked for other service and when we called to cancel, we were promised at least a year at 60/month. Yet we "had" to pay the 100 once to get that deal. The bill came, it was for 80. Multiple phone calls, reps say they will "make a note" in the system. The next rep can never find the note. Now they say we have to pay the 80, and THEN we can get the discount. But NOW, in order to get the discount, we will have to take slower speed service.Review fromKathy H

1 starCalled this morning, 26 Feb 2025, to cancel our internet service, which we have had for many years. We simply could not afford the increasing prices. Our previous bill states that our internet service was for Jan 18 - Feb 17, 2025, which means we have had the internet service for 9 days in the new billing period. I was informed that we would have to pay for the entire billing service period rather than the service being pro-rated for the number of days actually used.
THIS is why Spectrum is losing so many customers. The service representative then proceeded to inform me of all the wonderful deals they could offer me, but could not give a satisfactory answer on why these "deals" were not offered previously. Final note: We had no complaint with the actual service, but rather, the constant increase in price for basic internet. We now have internet that rivals Spectrum in every way, for a fraction of the cost. BUYER BEWARE! Poor customer service, poor business practices.Review fromSusan v.

1 starOn Jan 4, 2025, we set up cell phone service with Spectrum for two lines. The employee told us we could have the lines for $30 each but would have to pay $40 because the manager wasn't in to approve it. So we should look for the credit on our bill. Because we have cable and internet with them, I misread the bill as including the credit. It wasn’t until the next month when the 2nd bill came that I realized that they hadn't given us the quoted price. So we went up there as soon as the store opened to ask for a credit. The employee told us that she couldn't do anything or even view what the original employee had set up on Jan 4. She said the manager wasn't coming in until noon. So we went home and came back at noon only to be told by a 3rd employee that they couldn't give us the full refund. His reason was "It's difficult to do." I pointed out it hadn’t been too difficult to apply the charge back in January. I asked to talk to Ryan, the manager, who when he came out told me I needed to go home and place a call to the Call Center. I asked him why he couldn't do that for me right now. He said he can’t do it that way, but brought out his laptop and tapped away for another 30 minutes, trying to get my full refund by applying it to our future cable and internet bill, a weird solution. The full refund came to my phone as Ryan was still tapping away. When I told him it came through, he was surprised and asked to see it. What had he been tapping away about? and to whom?
Spectrum clearly uses obfuscation and stalling tactics to wear down the customer. There is no reason a simple refund for an overcharge should take hours and two trips to the store to resolve.Review fromRahail S

1 starI am beyond frustrated with the entire process of porting from **** to Spectrum. I initially made the switch because I was offered a $2000 buyout plan, which seemed like a great deal. Little did I know, I was being misled and manipulated throughout the entire process, and now, after everything, I am being denied the buyout I was promised.
To make matters worse, Spectrum has been nothing but dishonest at every step. I was informed by your sales team that the buyout would be honored, regardless of my balance with ***** However, once the porting was completed, I called to inquire about the buyout and was told it was denied due to a past-due balance on my Spectrum internet account. At no point during the porting process was I told that my balance on the internet service would affect the buyout plan. Spectrum was fully aware of the balance at the time of porting, yet I was never informed that it would be an issue. This is a blatant lie and a complete lack of transparency.
After being told the buyout was denied, I was assured that if I paid the outstanding balance on my internet service, they would honor the $2000 buyout. I immediately made the payment, expecting the buyout to be processed within a week, as promised. Once again, this turned out to be a complete lie. No one contacted me, and I was left without any follow-up.
I called Spectrum again, only to be told that the buyout was now denied because I still owed money to ****. This is outrageous. I was told explicitly by Spectrum's sales team before the porting that my balance with **** wouldn't be a problem. Now, after multiple lies and broken promises, I am being told that the buyout will not be honored because of my **** debt. How is this even possible when I was reassured this wouldn't be an issue?
I am extremely dissatisfied with how I have been treated, and I demand immediate resolution.
Immediate payment of the $2000 buyout as promised.Review fromKimberley H

3 starsI am a Spectrum mobile customer. I experienced that a 911 phone call for police assistance as to my stolen cellphone was not located on my recent phone app tab on February 22, 2025. I called Spectrum customer support as to this and they indicated on their end that they had the 911 phone call listed at a time different from when I called. This is misinformation of phone call records and is unacceptable.Review fromMitzi S

1 starThey lied to me about a phone when I signed up for mobile phone service with them. The representative I spoke to when I inquired about a promotion Spectrum was offering. The man I spoke with asked for the IMEI number on my phone. My phone 'supposedly' wouldn't work with their program so they told me, "No problem! We'll send you a phone." Not one word telling me that the phone was going to cost me right at $400. I'm a retired senior citizen and my only source of income is a small monthly check from Social Security. I live alone and I'm responsible for paying my own bills. There is NO WAY that I could afford to pay that much money for a phone. When I received a bill in the mail from Spectrum for $11.11, I immediately called Spectrum and asked them what the bill was for and I was told that it's a partial payment for my phone. I explained to the representative that I was not told anything about having to pay for the phone when I signed up for cell phone service with them on October 31, 2024. I asked her to play the recorded phone call from that date so they would know that I was telling them the truth. I called Spectrum in December and asked for someone to listen to the call. 9 days later I received a call from someone at Spectrum telling me that I did agree to buy the phone. That's a lie. I tried to cancel my service with them and offered to return the phone to them and I was told that I could cancel my service but I would still have to pay for the phone. I was told that since 60 days had passed since I signed up for their cellphone service, I couldn't cancel my service and I couldn't return the phone. That was also a lie. I just want an apology from Spectrum and I want them to stop charging me for a phone that I didn't agree to buy and I want them to refund the payments that I paid for the phone. Thank you for your time. Most Sincerely, ***** * *******Review fromabby e

1 starSpectrum does not show the actual price of their services on their website. They only show temporary promotional pricing so it is impossible to make informed choices on their services. Their billing is vague and hides fees such as rental equipment. The rental equipment is also not mentioned in the price of their services and was not known until after purchase.Review fromCarter B

1 starI was charged for equipment returned and they made 3 “tickets” that haven’t done anything. They charged me without my consent when they knew the equipment was returned. I needed the funds they charged me and I got trapped where I’m traveling. All I got was a “sorry it’ll be 7-10 days”….i would rather go without any internet at this point. It was expensive, it went out every other day, it was bad service, customer service was a mess with them taking 3 hours of my day trying to get me to keep my account. Then they charged me after I canceled it and get told tough luck. Worst service I’ve ever had. I’m usually laid back but it’s been 3 months now and every two weeks I get charged then reversed and then I get another “ticket” made. Spend your money on litterally anything else. This is my first complaint ever and probably my last. This is stupid and if I could take it further into legal action I would. Just a kid trying to make it and these snakes charge for everything and waste my time. NEVER AGAIN will I have anything to do with spectrum. And anyone I ever know will know spectrum is the biggest scam of services.Review fromTJ R

1 starHorrible internet services that go out multiple times a week and even worse customer service. Literally impossible to talk to a real person unless you have an inside contact somehow, genuinely one of the worst companies that has ever had my business, I strongly suggest not putting yourself through the nightmare that is Charter Spectrum.
