AARP has been charging me $158 a month for car insurance. I have a six year old SUV and I have not had a ticket or a wreck in over ten years.
I switched to Progressive and I am paying $47 dollars a month.
      I also canceled my membership.
I won’t use the words predatory profit driven scumbags who make their money off senior citizens.

DO NOT give them your email address or you'll receive junk mail for years on end! They share your email with everyone from here to the moon.

We reserved a car (Budget Car Rental) using AARP/Expedia travel. We were told that we were only needed to pay $491.14 when we picked up the car. That included the rental and ALL taxes and fees. When we got to the airport, no one was at the booth and we were redirected to AVIS next door. The person looked up the reservation took our credit card and gave our keys and receipt. We did not look at the receipt till we got back from our trip. They overcharged us $561.26!!!!! We called Budget and they wouldn't do anything. I called AARP they told me I had to speak to someone from Expedia. So I called Expedia. The woman there said they should not have sent us to AVIS. She looked up the itinerary and agreed with me that we were overcharged. She created a ticket and said they would get back to us in 3-4 days. They did and asked for more documentation. We sent it and in a few days they told us they were siding with Budget and not honoring the original rental agreement of $491.14! What kind of customer service is that? How can we ever trust AARP/Expedia to stand by the prices they give us? I have been a member for many years and used this service before but never again (nor Budget Car Rental or Expedia on their own). I will go to any other company or not go on a trip. If I could give them less than a start I would. Do not use AARP/Expedia!!!

On December 10th I purchased three $100 Carnival gift cards through AARP Rewards. I confirmed that the credit card transaction was successful and forwarded it to AARP for their confirmation. In the days following I made several calls to AARP regarding this matter and was told to "be patient".
I asked multiple times for a refund since they could not provide the product. Almost a month later with no resolution from AARP, I finally had to dispute the charge with my credit card provider to get a refund.

Dental Insurance run by AARP Delta Dental is a fraud. Their representative despite my careful investigation outright lied to me and twisted the facts. I cancelled the insurance. They say they will refund my $140. I dont believe it. Waste of time and money. Rotten to the core. They will lie to you just to get your $.

      Dear Mr. Wright,
AARP provides members the opportunity to control all their communications with the association. Unfortunately, we do not have a telephone number for you on file. I sent you an email from our consumer care department. If you'd be kind enough to provide the number, I'll be happy to add it to our Do Not Call list.
Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2023.

They are the most disgusting organization. My husband is a classic scam target. Elderly and cognitively impaired. AARP is the biggest perpetrator of the scam! His membership is good until April 2023. They write to tell him its time to renew, multiple times, days in a row, implying his is near his expiration date. Its NOVEMBER 2022. He is jot even clise to the expiration date sbd they damn well know that. So of course he renews thinking he will lose his membership and now he is on the hook till April 2024! You bottom feeder AARP scam artists. If he wanted a 2 year subscrption he would have signed up for that. You prey on the people you are supposed to advocate for. Shame on you. You low life hypocrites.

      Dear Ms. L*****,
AARP provides members the opportunity to customize their communications preferences with the organization. Some members prefer to receive early renewal notifications, some containing incentive/discounted membership fees or premiums. Others prefer to receive few notifications.
On your behalf, I have arranged for your account to receive few notifications. Under this process, you will receive one notice via USPS about 30 days before expiration; one notice via email (if you are opted-in to receive email from AARP); and one notice about 30 days post-expiration, if his account should lapse.
As some mailings are prepared ahead of their distribution date, please allow 6 weeks for this request to fully filter through our databases. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
It is AARP policy to refund membership fees to those who join or renew in error. Additionally, when an account receives more than two advance payments, a refund is automatically generated for the member.
I am sending an email directly to you with some additional information. We wish you and your family a happy, healthy and prosperous 2023.
      Sincerely,
      Bruce
