I am not positive this is the place for this, but could not find another AARP site to post on. I rented a car with Payless Car Rental in ********* through AARP/Expedia. Payless was the worst-- they charged us $550 for a cleaning fee because of "ashes in the car." This was literally impossible. They claimed they had a video but did not produce it when I asked. Long story short, our credit card company was able to recoup half of the amount, but we are out $250. I wanted to bring this to your attention because there are SO many reviews about Payless that state this very kind of fraudulent behavior. It makes me not trust that AARP partners are vetted as well as they should be. The Better Business Bureau issued this warning in 2017: ******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************(I realize it is my responsibility to read reviews ahead of time, but I assumed since it was associated with AARP that Payless was reputable.)

AARP UnitedHealthcare is a FRAUD. I signed up for AARP UnitedHealthcare Plan G policy and AARP quoted one price and raised that price. I agreed to pay the higher price. Setup automatic payment and one month later AARP canceled my policy and did not inform me. The cancelation was not discovered until I needed an emergency gallbladder surgery. I ended up paying over $1100.00 for the surgery. When I called AARP the representative ********** refused to cooperate and refused to let me speak to his supervisor or the accounting or legal department after repeated requests, then hung up on me. AARP is supposed to be helping seniors, if this helping seniors I don't need their help.

I have been a member of AARP for ********************************************************************************************* my best interests. Therefore, on their advice, I chose The Hartford as my insurance company for home and auto. I recently received a bill from The Hartford that I found excessive so I requested a price quote from ********** that was less than 1/2 of my billing from the ******** for better insurance coverage! Why would AARP sponsor an insurance company that cheats their members?? I am so very disappointed and feel betrayed by an organization that I thought I could trust.

AARP is threatening me because I cancelled their service. They are going to now send me excessive emails and sell my information to numerous companies. This is a desperate & pathetic organization for punishing their former senior customers if they dare cancel their subscription. I will report them to every possible website if they dare to carry out their threat. Their reviews reflect extremely poorly on them. Actually what they do is childish behavior of revenge.

Dear **********,This is puzzling. Your account is showing as in good standing with a history of 26 years. There is no communication linked to your account regarding any cancellation request. AARP provides members and others to control their communication preferences, so, even if you were to cancel, you would have control over what you want to receive.I will call and email you with a direct contact so we can further research your concerns.Thank you.***** *************

I made a huge mistake giving these people money. Now that I've cancelled they hound me horribly with tons of junk mail. It's a disgusting waste of resources mostly. Now they have started sending me AARP Foundation mailings wanting donations for poor seniors. I'm one of them and didn't realize AARP was geared towards well-off/comfortable middle class seniors and why I cancelled before my membership even expired. I laughed so hard because they now want me to not only send them money in their newest mailing of the AARP Foundation to "help seniors in need", but they expect me to pay for the stamp to mail it to them. On their website they suggest you PAY some other greedy capitalist to get rid of these junk mailings ... that either don't work or work for 3 years and you have to pay again. I even get the AARP junk mail for the DECEASED woman who used to live in my apartment. These people have no shame! Like most who collect charitable donations, the CEO gets 6 figures from it then all those under get big cuts of it then there's the overhead to run the scam ... so what do they have left to help poor seniors? A whole lot of NOTHING!! I see no big dent in the amount of struggling seniors as I have seen no dent in Cancer with the scam run by The American Cancer Society. AARP is only ONE in a sea of scammers ... there are no more businesses with integrity ... if there ever even were any to begin with. Oh and they sold my data to other scammers so add criminals to their resume. ENOUGH ALREADY!

      Dear Ms. D*******,
AARP provides members the opportunity to control their communications preferences. On your behalf, I have suppressed your name/address from receiving any solicitations from AARP or our affiliated service providers. As some of these mailings are prepared ahead of their distribution date, it may take up to 12 weeks to filter through our database and those of our service providers. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
      Sincerely,
      Bruce

I have had great help in the past with a problem with a business, However now I am very discouraged that AARP, an organization I have had full trust in, is using The Hartford Insurance. I left an agent I had used for years because the AARP Hartford premium was significantly lower. The Hartford renews every 6 months and every 6 months my premium has been increased. This last time by $200.00,. I have had no accidents and i took the safe driver class again. Customer service with Hartford said the reason it was increased again is because the company increased all policies. She also said they renew every six months because of covid. What? Still? I have Trulane which constantly has to be re-installed. Now my premium is higher than two of my friends who have other insurance. They started out higher but now mine is higher.

Hi my name is Mark G******* and I'm a member of the AARP tax preparation team in Sandy Springs. Unfortunately I wasn't able to revisit and seek services at that location. So I went over to the Holcomb Bridge Library where the tax preparer team member name Harold C was using some unprofessional name calling towards me. Seeing that I have a Hispanic last name he chose to keep calling me Carlos through out the whole interview and then had the nerve to ask me was I taking a trip to Mexico in the summer. I told him prefer that he would call me by my name and that this seems kind of " personal " and brushed it off he said no it's an " inside joke " and begin to laugh. As I was leaving he said "see you next year Carlos" and thought it was funny. In return I didn't say nothing laughed it off but kept it duly noted. actually I didn't think it was funny at all and believe that he needs to be reprimanded for his conduct n unprofessionalism. Even though the taxes were done I didn't come there for that. From here on and out I would rather prefer to be in Sandy Springs then to revisit him.
