      I would recommend other options before opening an account with Barclays Bank.

      I was an eight year plus customer, never made a late payment and my credit limit was over 13,000 dollars.

      For a period of time and during active duty orders - I did not use the credit card much or at all. Barclays Bank made the decision to reduce my credit limit to 500 dollars.

      This decision on their behave made a huge impact on my credit score.

      For that reason, I urge potential customers to consider all other options before banking with Barclays.

      Barclays pulled my credit card payment twice from my account. I have now spent hours on the phone trying to get this resolved only to get nowhere, be hung up on after waiting on hold, and promised calls back but never called. Both payments were returned as I asked my bank to stop payment on one, and then Barclays realized their error and stopped the other. Now I simply would like to pay my balance and it will not allow me to connect my bank account because of the returned payment. I have had a Gap card for 10 years and have never had any issues when it was under Synchrony nor have I ever had a late payment. Barclays customer service is absolutely terrible. Will be cancelling my card.

      I woke up Tuesday 10/4 with $0 bank account due to a mistake Barclay made processing payments. They took my payment of $3942 out twice. They knew they made a mistake but not sure how to fix is since they could not see the 2nd payment posted to our account. After several calls i finally got a customer service representative that helped me and my bank fix my account. Then the next day 10/5 in an attempt to fix my account they reversed the payment but it was the wrong payment and now my account is in delinquent payment status. I can't use my card and customer service can't offer any quick resolution. The frustration is trying to contact someone and present my bank evidence of both payments. Their communication is terrible. They simply say give us time and we are opening a ticket. By now I must have 6 or 7 tickets open for this problem. I've spent at least 4 hours on hold between my bank and Barclay customer service. Now i'm going to have to make a minimum payment to clear my card so i can use it.

      I have received communication from Barclay's. "Please allow at least 45 days for us to resolve your claim." I worked in IT and I've never known a problem that was not fixed in 48 hours. They took $7,884 from me. They have returned $3942, but still have not found the other $3942. That should not take 45 days!

      Finally got an email address to send evidence of double bank withdrawal. Still waiting for 2nd 10/4 payment to be applied to my account. Nice that Barclay is getting $3942.80 to use interest free. Not to mention other customers affected. Where is the 10/4 payment?

      Issue still not resolved. No one has traced the 2 payments that were withdrawn from my bank account. 1 payment was returned, but the other payment was never posted to my credit card account.

      I had a Banana Republic Visa Credit card for years and went through the switch to Barclays US MasterCard. Since then, it has been a nightmare trying to log on to my online banking just to view my balance. Keeps saying I have wrong username/password (which I do not). Then in order to select the forgot username/password option, I have to enter all my account information and wait for a SecurPass Code by either text or email. I have selected both and STILL never get the code. Forget trying to call customer service. They are overseas and just walk me through same steps I just told them didn't work and are of no help and tell me nothing is wrong with my account even though I haven't been able to log in to my online account for months! Would like to cancel this card, but according to the other reviews, that process sounds like a nightmare too! I guess this is their strategy, to make it so miserable, that you are stuck and trapped with their crappy service and product.

      When you’re signing up for any credit card, make absolute sure it’s not Barclays. They don’t have a good customer service and will lie and then deflect blame to the merchants when they don’t have an answer for their lies

      I had a Barclays Frontier credit card for 10+ years. Always make my payments on time. They have currently locked my account and I do not have access. I have been fighting with them for 3 months to get access to my account. They keep telling me to wait 7 days and change the password. Then they went and closed my account. Terrible customer service.

      Having a Barclays Credit Card is the worst experience ever. I bought a product that ultimately didn't work and filed a dispute after the merchant refused to respond to me. They initially created the wrong dispute leading to it being denied and had to open the dispute multiple more times, each time getting denied. The only response I get is a generic letter in the mail and any time I call I get told to wait for the letter. I was finally able to speak to a couple different managers and they refused to help. Even though they admit their people did things incorrectly I am still out the money for the product. They have the worst customer service and will just do what is easier and not back the customer if it is too much work and will not compensate for their employees doing something incorrectly and costing the customer money.

      I just wanted to let anyone know who reads this the people that reached out to after posting this review were able to fix the issue after a few minutes on the phone. I just wish any of the initial people I spoke to were able to fix this with the same urgency.

      I feel great disappointed with response from Bayclay customer service.

      I have been paying $90+ annual fee for 3 years consecutively and only found out that Bayclay Aviator Mastercard have given me a credit card account tied to someone else AA advantage # in system. It printed on my credit card wrong, too. I called American Airlines to verify the AAdvantage # on the credit card was not mine.

      It is clearly that Bayclay got this mixed up when managing the customer database and continue providing an appropriate credit card with correct AAdvantage number that i gave them when signing up. I do not think I am getting a proper/good service so I cancelled the credit card called filled two separate cases (Case#: RI0047483 & RI0079953) with Bayclay for the last 6 months to get this resolved by asking for refunds on my annual fees.


      Bayclay did not respond quickly to me in 72 hours as they claimed they would and closed these cases without consulting me. After I followd up weeks later, they simply told me over the phone that I should deal this with American Airlines. Their logic is wrong. My case has nothing to do with American Airlines. It was a mistake that Bayclay made in managing and issuing American Airline credit cards. They should be responsible and compensate me for the mistake they made.

      Card cancelled on death of primary account holder.
      I have a secondary card and have been blocked from getting information on this account. Mailed a payment that was not processed sixteen days ago, wondering if delay is so they can charge late fee and interest. Also, wondering what happens with accumulated points. As a CPA, I have some questions on treatment of consumers and violations of credit laws.
