I called customer service for Barclay "Uber" credit card. I asked for my account to be closed so I can have access to make payments on my request account closure. I WAS DENIED CLOSURE. I have been locked out of my account so I was unable to make a timely monthly payment, my account will be late and because of their refusal to give .e access to an account I no longer have use for. My account will be accessed a late payment fee and an over the limit fee based on their actions to refuse my online access! I don't recall that I ever been late so please correct me if I am wrong.

I see Im not alone. Barclays offered me the card ,which wud help my score barely 5mon ago.4k limit..iv used 1800.of it. Out of the blue an email from them says thyv cut my limit by 1/2. And for no legitimate reason. Well of course now my score is worse since this card is almost maxed. I wud NOT recommend this company to anyone!. AARP if ur reading this u better get ur name away from this company or ull be guilty by association!Barclays Bank Delaware

I received a Barclay card for vacation purposes. Since August I have made 3 payments and on time. They initially gave me a credit limit if $500. Today, I received a letter stating that they had reviewed my credit thru a third party and would be decreasing my limit to $250. I don’t understand this. On time payments, was nowhere near my credit limit of $500. My next payment of $29 was due on 10/25/24. After they dropped my credit limit I paid the full balance due and plan on telling everyone what a horrible comoany they are. And I have a big mouth!Barclays Bank Delaware

Two weeks after I made a big payment they reduced my credit limit. Customer for 10 years and never missed a payment. Shouldn't be legal.Barclays Bank Delaware

I recently applied for a Priceline credit card through Barclays while paying for a family vacation. Applying for a credit card at that time would have given me a $200 credit for my vacation and an additional $100 on my first statement.
When the Barclays site brought me back to the Priceline.com, it said my tickets had been sold and I had to start over. I started over, selected the EXACT same dates, seats, and flights and went to checkout. My new card information had not been saved and I now needed the CVV code, which I did not have being that I wouldn't receive my card for 5-15 business days.
I did not finish checking out, etc. since I wouldn't get the discounts I was originally offered if I had applied for a Priceline.com credit card through Barclays. I contacted Priceline and they couldn't help me, even a supervisor. They told me to contact Barclays. Barclays blame Priceline and said they couldn't help me and that as a promotion for new card members, I'd get $100 on my first statement... but I still wouldn't get the additional $200 off of my vacation.
At the end of the day, I ended up with a brand new credit card, a hard check on my credit report, and no discounts. I cancelled the card and did not book my family vacation. Very disappointed that no one could help me nor even had any sort of intention in helping. Worst customer service I've ever received!Barclays Bank Delaware

Someone else set up an account, with a name very similar to mine. They seemed to have gotten my email address on there, and Barclays says there is nothing they can do to help. Because its someone else's account I am just stuck blocking all barclay email address. I am really glad I never want to do business with them now.Barclays Bank Delaware

I use my Barclays card almost & faithfully pay my bill. Barclays dropped my credit limit from $13000 to a little over $5000 with no previous warning that I had to spend a certain amount monthly or yearly. This has affected my credit score. When I called to inquire why, they gave no answer and only offered to return my credit line to the previous amount. I work hard to maintain a good credit rating and Barclays has hurt it when I've been a loyal customer. Needless to say, I requested a final bill & once it arrives I will pay off and cancel the card.Barclays Bank Delaware

I spoke to two representatives, the second rep was an Account Specialist, regarding a statement for a "JetBlue Plus Card" I received via postal mail. I explained I was confused as I had no knowledge of this account. In addition, shared that I was going through the process to "validate the account" that my phone number was not associated to any accounts per their automated messaging. The Account Specialist also asked if I had received a credit card, which made me ponder as to why I would be asked that question a I feel they should have records if it was activated or not.
The Account Specialist informed me that they would be closing the account due to fraud and that I should have no obligation to pay the annual fee. I asked if I could receive an e-mail to confirm these actions and they stated they would reach out to someone to see, but it probably wouldn't happen. And I haven't received any communication or follow-up.
I felt at ease, however, still concerned about the fraudulent activity and how easy it was for someone to open an account through this company.Barclays Bank Delaware

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I have spent hours/ days on the phone with customer service, unfortunately they are off shore employees. I have tried to explain that the charges on my card are fraudulent with proof / I rented a car and the place of service is claiming damages and charged my card. Barclays sided with the rental car agency based on photos they received that were Blacked out! Even tho I faxed in photos showing damage was already there. I was transferred to numerous agents all with the same answer, I signed an agreement. I said I signed an agreement if there was damages I would pay but there were no damages I made! No one understood this. I was given to a supervisor, also off shore who gave me the "office of the President's fax number to send in my complaint to- DO NOT Bother, that fax number just rings and rings. I tried to fax my information for a week only to be told- keep trying. I have been with Barclays for 10+ years and this is how I am treated?

I am disappointmented and frustrated regarding the recent reduction of my credit limit on my CC account for the sole reason of not using it enough. This not only impacts my avail. credit but also poses a significant threat to the 800 plus credit score I have worked to maintain.
As a loyal customer of Barclays for many years, I have ensured payments are made on time and handled my account with care. It is disheartening to see that my limited usage of the card—primarily due to careful spending habits—has resulted in such a punitive action. A reduction in available credit not only reduces my score through increased utilization but also has wider implications for my overall credit profile.
When I reached out to your customer service team, I was informed that reinstating my previous limit would require an additional pull of my credit report. This further compounds the issue, as another inquiry could have detrimental effects on my credit score. To me, this feels like a classic case of "catch-22," where the only way to remedy a situation caused by your policies involves creating an additional negative impact.
Your practices create an unfortunate sense of distrust and resentment. The current structure seems to punish responsible customers who choose to be conservative with their credit, while s forcing them to expose themselves to additional risks for trying to rectify situations beyond their control.
Furthermore, should I choose to cancel my Barclays credit card, it would not only reduce my available credit further but would also negatively impact the length of my credit history—a cornerstone of a strong credit score. This sends a troubling message to consumers that their responsible behavior will be penalized rather than rewarded.
In closing, I urge you to reconsider your policies. It appears I am not alone in my dissatisfaction. Customers like myself deserve to be treated with fairness and not negative implications of your practices on loyal customers.
