My wife and I were enticed by a promotion that Southwest and Chase conducted, offering 80,000 Southwest miles for purchases, balance transfers, etc. exceeding $5,000 over the course of the first three months of card ownership. Although we debated the pros and cons, we acquiesced to the promotion, knowing we could easily meet the requirements of the promotion.
As expected, we met the promotion's requirements and waited patiently for our 80,000 miles to be credited to my Southwest account. We waited for the initial three-month period and the four to six weeks for additional processing (as noted in the fine print), but still had not received the bolus of miles.
Out of frustration and impatience, I contacted Cathy at the Southwest customer service center who deferred to Chase to "send the miles" to Southwest, adding she would be happy to apply the miles with Chase's consent. To her credit, Cathy transferred us to Mario at Chase who after reviewing my account informed me that Chase had fulfilled its obligation, indicating the promotion we agreed to was for 10,000 miles for $500 in spending over three months, and not, in fact, 80,000 miles for $5K (the only promotion to which we would agree). I insisted that we would have never agreed to the lesser promotion and asked him on behalf of Chase to review the application and reconsider. He instead deferred to the supervisor whom repeated Mario's sentiments indicating she cannot change the promotion, instead offering a $70 credit (not kidding) as compensation. I closed my account, absolutely certain this was a bait and switch.
Chase's practice is deceptive and nefarious. They had no issue taking my money, but refused to reciprocate (as advertised).

17 year customer support of Chase treated like garbage. Signed up for the southwest credit card for the points spent over the $3000 expected to get the bonus miles, charged $69 for an annual fee in the first month and was denied the points because apparently their annual fee does not count as a charge for me and therefore I was short by $45 and out of the three month window to try and charge one more item to make up the difference. They then immediately cancel my card without reimbursing me the annual fee even I asked for both to occur simultaneously waited online for 25 minutes to speak with a supervisor Ray who was equally useless. Would not recommend this credit card company to anyone such a shame after so long in spending so much money with this company that they would treat their customers this way.

Chase has the worst credit card customer service two hours on the phone trying to set up an online payment, six different codes for password was hung up on. Paying off my small balance and closing the account.
I never liked Chase before for checking or savings and I like it even less now. Too big since it became JP Morgan.

The card has a terrible customer service when it comes to disputes, as they tend to automatically side with merchants.

In my case, I rented a car for a week when I was in Spain, and returned it the at the stipulated date and time. The rental car company claimed that I had returned the car a week later, four days later after I had left Spain. I provided evidence supporting my claims, including pictures of the time I returned the keys and plane tickets showing that I was not physically present in Spain at the time the company claims I was renting the car.

A supervisor of the dispute case at Chase, claimed that not being physically present in Spain at the time the service was delivered was NOT enough proof that they had billed me incorrectly. He claimed that I needed a letter form the rental car company saying that they had made a mistake. A completely outrageous request, as in this case the company would fix the problem themselves. When questioned the validity of his logic, he hung up the phone. The experience was terrible from start to finish.

Bottom-line, if you rent a car using a Chase credit card, then you completely depend on the good faith of the rental car company when it comes to the charges they pass when they close the contract.

If you would like a credit card to freeze your account and not tell you then this is the card for you. Attempted to buy 3 subway tickets in separate transactions to which they locked the card down without notice. No email, no call.. nada just cut off. After five calls to the company because their phone line was crap and couldn’t hear we finally had reactivated. Thank goodness for capital one.

Then when going to pay said credit card off they take your money out of your bank account and freeze your ability to use it again. This is the only company who punish their users from being responsible for paying bills off. I strongly discourage anyone from using this company. Called and told available balance was free on the 17th.. it’s the 17th and it’s still not available. They took my money but won’t allow me to use the credit card and we are in a cashless society.

This Chase Visa card has been such a thorn in my side ever since I got it. They have not corrected the phone number even though I took enormous amounts of time getting to a real person to change this. When I log in, I am directed to a page to verify my identity. Well, there they have the wrong phone number and no place to edit that. No place to contact a real person either! I am very suspicious of card companies that make it hard to communicate with them.

Waste of time as far as I can see. I am not using this card, and I am through with Chase Visa.

Submitted an application for a credit card to transfer a balance. That card is affiliated with chase, this was a mistake and chase was completely unwilling to make any effort to assist me in correcting the issue. Spoke with Ada and Amber both supervisors and neither of which was willing to offer any sort of resolution, offered no suggestions or corrective action.

Cant reverse the card, cant reverse the credit inquiry, they are only there to say "I am so sorry you feel that way. I would be happy submit this as a complaint but these are only viewed internally so I cant send you a verification of this submission."

worst travel agent ever! I am a loyalty member with Chase and book through chase travel agency. They told me the flight could be cancelled with no penalty fees but when I used the credit, it potentially would charge 1100 dollars for 1300 dollar credits. What an insane!

Then they promise to cover the penalty but the rebooking flight can only be go to/back from Lisbon and can only booked by one-trip each!!! The price doubled under this situation. For the origin price on the round trip for two people, it costs 900*2, but under this situation, it is 2600 for two!!!

Chase is a liar and please avoid Chase travel for lifetime ever!

Last month while in the process of buying 3 Southwest tickets via Southwest's website , below the description of the total cost of the fares was an advertisement. The advertisement stated that I could get a $200 discount on the said fares if I sign up for a new JP Chase Credit Card. I signed up with the understanding that I would get $200 off on the fares. Unwittingly, I had agreed to pay the yearly $69.00 membership fee. (I don't remember seeing that mentioned anywhere while signing up, which leads me to suspect that the mentioned fee was buried and printed somewhere where it would be easy for customers to overlook. Such a deceptive practice that is against the law.) Instead of a full $200 discount, I got just a $171.00 discount. So customers, if Chase Visa has an advertisement of a discount for a fare if you sign up, do NOT believe that you'll get the full said discount.
