They are a scam. I didn't know until it was too late that I was getting hit with exorbitant booking fees. It was deceptive. Avoid them.

Guestreservations.com uses deceptive booking methods to make you complete the booking before knowing what the final price will be. After I finished the booking, I realized that I was being charged an additional $73.96 for taxes and service fee for a $135.00 room rate. I also got a FRAUD alert from my credit card company. I called the credit card company and said that I wanted to dispute the charge, but did not want to cancel my card and have a new one issued (since I just got a new one recently). The credit card company assured me they would help with the dispute and that I could keep the card and just call back the following week when the charge had been posted. I was given false promises, because the credit card company now tells me that the charge is valid and I have to pay it. I then made a call to the hotel directly and booked the room at the rate of $135 plus tax. The agent there told me I could cancel the previous reservation with Guestreservations.com. I went online and cancelled my reservations with Guestreservations.com through "Manage my Booking"; I also called them to confirm my cancellation, and I have a cancellation number. However, the person at Guestreservations said that this is a non-refundable reservations.
Now I ended up paying for 2 rooms even though I stayed in only one room. I also called the hotel hoping they would give me credit for the one room we did not occupy, but they were also totally useless and not cooperating. Very disappointed. Lesson learned.

This is an ABSOLUTE SCAM!! I searched on line for a hotel (Hotel A) and the first result was HotelA.guestreservations.com. I presumed that I was dealing with the hotel directly. I agreed to a specific price per night of $500.00. Only after I entered my cc number did I see that they actually charged over $700.00 per night and a $1,300 fee! I immediately called and cancelled. I received the email agreeing that the reservation was cancelled. However, it was non-refundable. So, in essence, they kept my $3,600 and did not provide any hotel room at all. STAY AWAY AND DON'T GET TRICKED LIKE I DID!!

Echoing many of the other complaints on BBB and elsewhere. I was searching for Embassy Suites Tampa, scrolled past the Google sponsored links, to what I thought (based on the header in the search results) was the hotel website. I attempted to book the room for the nights I wanted to stay. The ordering portal took me through a few screens, the page where the reservation was completed did not offer me an order summary. Somewhere in the course of ordering, the dates changed, so I was booked for the wrong night. I called their customer service and was told they couldn’t change the nights, my only recourse was to cancel, agree to a FIFTY PER CENT charge of the total cost of the original booking, and start over. Be warned, the janky ordering portal, and the receptiveness of the website name (appearing to be the hotel you are searching for) aren’t bugs, they are features: guestreservations.com’s whole business model is “gotcha” online fee collections from buyers who they can catch off guard. I usually pay better attention to what website I’m on as I navigate, this is an expensive lesson.

Big scam. Booked king deluxe room (paid more ) . Brown Hotel Louisville put us in small full bed room. Said reservation does not specify room. Site always charged 160.00 in taxes and fees. Hotel told me never to use Guest Reservations. Our room had I booked directly would have been two hundred dollars cheaper. Hotel said GR pays to be at top of search engine results . SCAM

I had the same thing happen to me. They are very sneaky and when you ask what the additional costs are for, they say "taxes and fees". They will not provide detailed info: taxes $X amount, fees $x amount. I realized after I booked that they are NOT the official site, even though their website is a clone of the IHG website. The only good thing is that they did actually make a reservation at the hotel. Once I found the official hotel website to try and figure out what happened, I realized my mistake. This company charged $90 service charge!!!! I also called directly after my email confirmation.

Complete scam. They give you a price then add $58.50 to it for fees. The hotel staff does not know who they are. Also, they refuse to give a refund even when you booked the room less than an hour before. I'm leaving a star because I am forced to.

Guest reservations.com makes you believe it is the hotel booking service but is a 3rd party booking service which you don’t find out till it’s too late by the large service fee. This is robbery and should be closed immediately. Also the hotels that let this company book rooms should not allow this scam to continue by ripping off their loyal customers. How and why is guest reservation.com allowed to stay in business and do this to anyone. Something must be done !

Let me cancel a booking and then told me there would be no refund.
