If you think your booking directly with the hotel you are sadly mistaken. I made a reservation for a room 3 months out and while there was an option to pay $30 bucks more per night per room for a free cancellation up 3 days before arrival there was no indication that once booked the there would be no refund available at all. I tried to cancel literally within 30 minutes. No refund. I called them and they said they couldn't do it since the hotel already had the funds and I would have to call them directly to ask if the hotel would refund GuestReservations before they could refund me.
The hotel had no idea what they were talking about.
    Stay away from this site

Called Mandalay Bay in Vegas this morning to cancel one of three rooms I reserved for March. I was told I had booked (inadvertently) through a third party, which I found out was guestreserevations.com. Was directed by the hotel people to call Agoda (aka guestreservations). Called them and I told to call Priceline. I was informed by the Priceline people I couldn't change the reservation and couldn't cancel it. So I'm out a little over $1000 for three nights at MB.

I'm to blame for some of this. Should have noticed the first Mandalay Bay option on Google was the guestreservations option. That doesn't excuse them for not allowing a change or a cancellation.

I always book hotels and flights through the company websites. My mistake and lesson leaned.

They pose as a hotel direct booking platform and the website url takes you to a 3rd party site for the reservation. The hotel then can't modify or change the reservation...total BS business model and highly deceptive. This cost me one night stay due to a change in travel plans.

This is a scam site, absolutely no customer support! Not a travel agent!
I went online to book a stay at the Westin, attempting to book directly through the hotel website. After going through the booking page (which looked very legitimate) and entering my credit card details I went to click submit and saw fine print BELOW the submit button indicating that by clicking the above button I was agreeing to a non-refundable charge of $228, which was $70 more than the charge shown above on the booking page, and exceeded what would be expected for standard taxes and fees. I clicked the "back" button on my browser, but the reservation had already been processed, and I received a confirmation email. I immediately called the company phone number in the email to dispute, and they told me the reservation was not refundable and had already been confirmed with the hotel, then I would need to deal with the hotel to make any changes. I called the hotel to confirm that the reservation had been received, and thankfully it was confirmed, however the hotel staff member agreed that these sites are designed to look like the hotel direct sites and advised to call the hotel phone number directly for future bookings. I will be very careful to avoid guestreservations.com and other third-party sites in the future, and to book on my computer rather than a mobile device.

Total scam! I made a reservation in January for August through Reservations.com (unbeknownst to me- I thought I was booking through the hotel website). I cancelled my reservation within 36 hours of making it when I realized it was too far from where we needed to be. Reservations.com refuses to refund, even a partial amount of my money. Now in February, the hotel I reserved still shows my reservation even though I cancelled it in January with Reservations.com. Reservations.com says they will not cancel with the hotel until 24 hours before my check-in date. What a terrible experience. AVOID RESERVATIONS.COM!

I made my reservation through Guest Reservations.com and thought that it was easy and a good company. When I got to the hotel I was charged for 2 nights. After the first night a work issue arose and I needed to check out 1 day early and the hotel was fine with that and refunded my second night. A day later I was charged $271 from Guest Reservations stating that cancelling is not prohibited. My concern is that why did both the hotel and Guest Reservations charge me? I have tried to have this reconciled with no outcome. Their customer service department has asked me to do things I know nothing about nor does the hotel I stayed out. I suppose I'm just out the $271 and learned a lesson. I would NEVER use Guest Reservations again and encourage everyone else to not use them either.

Scam website! I went thru the same experience as others who googled a particular hotel and inadvertently wound up on guest reservations website and wound up paying an extra $300 for four nights at Sleep Inn at North Scottsdale in March 2024. They advertised cheaper prices and that it was refundable and then after I booked it they piled on the additional bogus fees and then AFTER my credit card was charged then I got a notice that it was non-refundable. That was for going to spring training to see the Cubs. This year I didn't fall for their scam and booked directly and all is well. I will enjoy spring training knowing I have not been scammed.

This company is completely crooked and deserves 0 stars! They created a website almost identical to the one I really wanted. I thought I was booking directly with the Hampton Inn and Suites for 3 rooms for 3 nights. When I looked at my confirmation, a realized one of the rooms should have been only 2 nights, I called them less than 5 minutes after the reservation was made and they refused to fix the reservation and refused to cancel with a refund. Instead they cancelled without a refund of my $2600 and said there was nothing I could do about it. I have booked at this hotel for years and I'm frustrated at myself for getting tricked. I am still working to get my money back. Be extra cautious with Guest Reservations or Priceline, which is who owns this company. Don't fall for the trap!
