1 starAbsolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced, not to mention it seems to me that the place is a pure and simple scam. Our water heater went out. After nearly 3 weeks and dozens of hours on the phone with them, they had still not fixed the water heater. The local contractor they hired mysteriously came up with $2500 in additional costs to install the water heater (hold that thought). After nearly 3 weeks we went out and hired a highly rated professional plumber on our own, and the total cost of the job--including the water heater--was about $2500. Now, I'm just a dumb retiree, but it seems quite a coincidence that these numbers match up. I mean, if I were running a scam operation, I'd find some local contractors and work out deals with them where I pay them a small amount, they give me kickbacks, and they always find a way to find extra charges that my warranty doesn't cover to pass on to the customer. Not saying they're doing this, but the numbers sure do seem suspiciously coincidental to me. Their business model seems to be to put customers off and refuse to deal with them until the customer just solves the problem on their own. They kept telling me that they couldn't find the water heater, so I'd find it for them, tell them where it was, offer to pick it up myself, but they'd continue to refer it to their "research" department who would say they couldn't find it. On multiple occasions they were lying to me on the phone while I was pointing out to them that I had someone on the other line who was proving their lie. Would love to see an expose on these guys on some sort of media--their shareholders need to lose their a** for supporting this sort of operation.Review fromTerrience S.

1 starThis company is the absolute worst. DO NOT pay them if you expect acceptable customer service, timely repairs, or to be treated like a person. You are a number to them and only their bottom line matters. This is my first claim for a repair.I pay $720 annually for this service. I have been showering in cold water for 10 days with no end in sight. They sent a technician who came and verified that the hot water heater was leaking. Obviously this is something I was able to mention myself in the report. This cost me $100. It has been 10 days since then with no end in sight of when parts will arrive. I have talked to 3 managers over the phone each marginally next helpful than the last. Not because of them as people, but this company gives its employees no power to actually help their customers. I was then told that there would be uncovered parts would cost me $380 on top of everything!!! Here is a list of parts they sent me.Type Cost Pipe Mods $70 Disposal $200 Gas c*** $60 Emergency Drain Pan$50 Here is what I can find those parts for online:Type Cost Pipe Mods ambiguous charge. "mods" can mean anything Disposal included with any other hot water installation company Gas c*** $12 Emergency Drain Pan $10 If you are keeping track, this has totaled $1200 which is what I would've paid for next day installation from an independent company. Even calling today, 10 DAYS LATERS even a manager can not give me an estimation of when I can have the hot water heater installed. I will be cancelling my service with this company and will continue to look for other websites to write as many negative reviews as possible.***************************Review fromDaniel S

1 starHow do you give negative stars.I have been struggling since November 16 with this company, they sent multiple repair men out to look at my Ac, only to be told, they cannot order the parts, they do not work on these kinds of units, or it will take 15 days to get the unit. We found our own vendor, which was $2000 average cheaper than any of theirs, I got permission, and authorization to replace the entire unit, and now they only paying 40% of the claim, all they do is read my contract page 10 to me, but do not understand that I actually saved them money, and the unit is not sold separately, so we had to replace everything, even what was working, the unit is 50 years oldReview fromMark D

1 starI had a few things fixed using this company that had satisfactory outcomes. We have a microwave oven that is built in to the cabinetry. I microwave failed and needed replacement. They first denied the replacement stating that unit was a countertop model. I provided the point of sale documentation that stated the unit was countertop or built in as an option. They then denied the replacement because I did not use the optional factory trim kit. No amount of pictures and so on could make them cover this item. Even the technician (they were good, in my case) called the company on our behalf to no avail. Stay away.......Review fromniesha j

1 starWorse company ever. My heatpump went out in the middle of winter, the tech they sent out told them that the unit could not be repaired that it need to be replaced. When he sent in an assessment of my unit they stated they would not replace it because the door on the unit was bent so they said it was structural damage. They tech stated that was not the reason for the unit not working, they didn't care and still denied. I was a loyal customer for over 10 years. I canceled my plan immediately. After 10 years I'm sure I'd already paid for a new systemReview fromJodie G

1 starCinch is awful! Each year our deductible went up. They literally had several people out to fix my washer since May 2022. Every month something new is wrong with the washer. A few weeks ago my service provider asked to just replace the washer at which point they denied my claim saying it was a commercial washer. I escalated as far as I could and they still declined. They also refused to refund my deductible. They stated the work should not have been done in the first place. Every time you ask to speak to a supervisor, that person is the supervisor but that person needed to get approval to overturn the denial from someone else. And they wont provide additional information for the someone else they needed approval from. They literally take weeks to get back to you and take your money before getting back to you. Do not use Cinch! They literally should be out of business.Review fromPreya S

1 starOur experience with Cinch should be a buyer's beware tale for any existing or future homeowner looking for home warranty insurance. When a yearly maintenance check-up for our 35-year-old furnace found a cracked heat exchanger that could potentially produce CO2 in our home, we immediately called Cinch on Oct. 3, 2022 to report the issue and get someone out here to take a look and either fix/replace the furnace. What should have been a quick assess the situation, determine the cost, and either offer a buyout or replace the furnace from Cinch has turned into a three month process that has yet to determine whether or not our furnace will be replaced. Cinch has sent out three different vendors to our home to look at our furnace. While the companies agreed our furnace needed to be replaced, so far nothing has come of it - and depending on who you ask, the blame lies elsewhere. If you ask the vendors, Cinch doesn't want to pay the costs to replace it and want a cheaper quote. If you ask Cinch, they'll tell you their approved vendors have not answered the necessary questions or filled out their required paperwork to make a determination. Attempts to get answers from Cinch, much less a resolution have been fruitless. We have spent hours on the phone speaking with customer ********************** representatives, supervisors, and case managers who continue to offer the sympathies, but no real solutions. Demanding answers from Cinch results in their case management team promising to transfer you to the higher **** when in actuality, they've sent you to ****** Yes, that ****** We've taken days off from work trying to resolve the situation, we've played mediator between the approved vendors hired by Cinch and the customer ********************** team, and have begged for resolutions to no avail. As the temperatures drop and snow falls, the only thing our family wants is answers. We hope Cinch will finally do what should have done months ago and honor their contract.Review fromJean A.

1 starI filed a service request for my refrigerator with Cinch in September. I was given the name of a service provider and had to wait 2 weeks for them to come. I was told they had to order parts and would contact me when they arrived to schedule a service call. After not hearing from them for 2 weeks I called and was told they were still waiting for the parts. I spoke to them gin on Nov. 15 and was advised that Cinch declined coverage for the damper. i read my contract there is no reference to the damper not being covered. I have made over 20 calls to Cinchc trying to speak to someone. I finally got through on Nov. 17 and was told the part was not coverd. I asked to see where in my contract that was stated. he rep could not provide that information. I was told my only recourse was to contact support services via email. I sent the email on Nov. 17 and am still waiting for a response. I spoke to a rep today who after having me on hold for 45 minutes told me I would be receiving a response via email with in 48 hours. I then logged into my account and my service request is not listed. Luckily I have the service request number. I will be cancelling this contract once this service request is completed. If I could give no stars I would!Review fromNair B

1 starI called Sears Home warranty which is powered by Cinch (I would say it was weakened by Cinch warranty!).My refrigerator stop cooling and I explained many times that I could not wait 9 days to have my refrigerator fixed, since my fridge was packed with food. They said someone was going to call within 24 hours and no one ever did. I called to cancel not only the home repair request but the entire contract. They said that I could have had a technician on my own and get refunded. But they never gave me this option when I insisted for a solution on my first call, despite the specific questions about this option. When I tried to cancel and get a refund for the remaining time of the contract they said I needed to pay a cancellation fee of $50. Instead of giving me a solution and refund me they charged even more! This company is no good, they are cheaters and they don't care about their customers. I hope it helps other consumers not be deceived by stupid plans like this!
