    Terrible moving experience lacking in service, professionalism and basic competence. Key complaints: broke a floor lamp; broke my 65 ** likely when the deliverer leaned the ** on its short end at an angle causing visible bowing; didnt start shipping my items from ** to *********** until 2 weeks after they picked everything up; it took numerous emails, phone calls and voice mails to get any sort of response throughout the process (days would go by with no answer to my requests for status updates), packers in ** did a subpar job, among other things they left a full closet worth of items untouched; delivery folks showed no concern for any of the items I was paying close to $10K for safe delivery (including haphazardly dropping boxes marked fragile or this side up); quoted a price around $5K when I first went through the items list with the sales person - when I finalized the list, I asked one of the reps if I needed to include thinks like mixing bowls and kitchenaid mixer the first sales person I spoke with did not indicate I needed to include the usual household bricabrac like that, I added a bunch of these smaller items that one would assume are present in a number of kitchens - the new price quoted was over $8K and by that point in the process it was too late to engage another company; when I spoke with the sales person originally, she said the delivery window is 1-3 weeks and when I was surprised by the 3 weeks, she heavily emphasized that 1 week was much more likely (I acknowledge she didnt guarantee, but she forecast extreme confidence that it would be closer to 1 week). In the end, they didnt even deliver my items within 3 weeks of the pick up. This transaction was incredibly difficult and costly. The *** actions/inactions have been so deficient in basic competency and ability it has almost felt malicious because I find it hard to believe so many people can be so bad at their jobs at so many levels. Strongly recommend any other moving company.

    I had a great experience with international van lines. They made moving an easy. The movers showed up on time and in uniform. Highly recommend this company. Thanks again International Van Lines.

    Extremely disappointed with IVL services used for our international shipment US to ******. Movers showed up on the day of pick up with a truck too small for the scheduled full container load. Had to scramble and reschedule for the next day, and when the movers showed up with a larger truck they wouldnt pick up our items until we paid $300 to cover parking for the larger truck.Upon arrival in ******, Customs clearance for our belongings was delayed for close to a month due to an IVL shipping documentation error. When we finally received delivery, we discovered that two boxes from our inventory list were missing. *** was unable to trace and locate them. We were advised by *** to submit a claim if we had taken out 3rd party insurance. Our claim was denied because our coverage was for total loss only. Total loss coverage was the only option available to us as we self packed our belongings. We were glad we self packed, especially after reading the horror stories from others regarding damaged property due to poor packing by IVL. Just raising awareness about our property loss experience and the limitation with regard to insurance.Quite an unsatisfactory experience. I do not recommend IVL. Like others, I would give zero stars if I could.If IVL is not BBB Accredited, it is misleading to list BBB ********************** of A+.

    They offloaded us to some other moving company and did not give us an opportunity to pick one we liked. Then they hid the fact they start their 21 day guarantee by the date you are available to receive the shipment, not the day you give them your items letting them have an extra 4-5 days for free. They are not calling with any updates and our stuff has been waiting for a truck for over 10 days at this point (still at starting destination!)when they estimated me 3-5 days for a move. Next the movers got there and tried to charge us 1600 over what our binding estimate came out to and we had to get rid of several pieces of furniture in order to keep our move at a reasonable price. They charge you $50+ for a single box for items you need, and there are a whole bunch of hidden fees. Avoid this company with everything you can. If we did a uhaul we would have taken WEEKS off waiting for our items. Avoid this company and DO NOT trust the positive reviews!!!!!!!!!

    i had such an unbelievably terrible experience with International van lines. they were wonderful pre-move, but absolutely disappeared once the moving day came around. all said and done, i paid more, several pieces of furniture were damaged and I was never able to get reimbursement. 0 customer support and 0 support of the teams they hire (the movers unloading the truck here had no equipment and the truck had no ramp. a nightmare. DON"T HIRE!!!!

    I went with International Van Lines for my move from ****** to the ** due to THEIR good reviews, however, they contracted out to AMS in ****** without telling me. From the moment the movers got there, they would disappear doing who knows what, leaving my stuff in the back of their truck unattended for anyone to come by and take. Then I went down to find them only to find that ALL 3 of them were IN the back of the truck next to my family's things smoking, when we have a non-smoking home.Within a couple HOURS of them departing, I started getting incessant calls, messages, and emails from their billing department insisting on being paid in full immediately. Only they don't offer any kind of modern payment options, which would have been instantaneous. They only do wires that take days, which they charge extra for on top of the bank's fees or some kind of weird bank transfer thing that my bank didn't know about. The messages and calls became increasingly threatening, including that they were going to start charging me $250/day for every day I hadn't yet paid. And that they were going to take my things off the truck and charge me another $1500 to do that and reload it. Calling International Van Lines about my issues was useless. The person I had been in contact was rude and actually hung up on me in the middle of a sentence. I then tried a supervisor who was condescending and acted like he was doing me a huge favour when he actually did a whole lot of nothing, then refused to respond to subsequent emails.The dispatcher admitted to me that my move was a big mess, especially as they did end up charging me another $1000 USD to move my stuff to another truck without telling me unnecessarily and messing up the delivery date. But of course that wasn't recorded when I asked.I was charged $3000 USD over quoted. Don't use these guys. Go with the big ones like AMJ ********, Atlas, or Allied. If I could do 0 stars I would.

    We had only one week notice from our land lord that we had to move, fortunately International Van Lines was able to help us in such short notice! They were amazing! They took such care of my belongins, and they were fast and efficient.

    Terrible moving company, do not use them. We got 3 quotes, they came out the cheapest by $2k. BUT they have since nickel and dimed us 3x, asking for more money for things we talked about during initial discussion, yet somehow did not make it into the initial quote. And then asked for an extra $1600 at the time of pick up because apparently they messed up their estimate about amount of stuff. We have now paid more than any of our other quotes.AND theyve had our stuff for 4 days so far, have given NO estimate or info about when it will be delivered, even though we were promised to receive an estimate at the time of pick up. This is a trash company. They only reason they deserve 1 star and not 0 is because the packing guys did a good job.

    This company is absolutely ridiculous. I have used multiple moving companies to move across country and they have been by far the most disappointing. After they picked up my stuff, I did not hear from them. No one reached out to inform me of an estimated delivery date or even just update me. After four days I attempted to call, email and text every number I had been given to no avail. I did not hear back from someone for over a day to try to get an update as no one had reached out to me five days after my stuff had been picked up for a move that was estimated to take 2-12 days. I was met with the explanation that they do not have routes as they do consolidated moves so they could not possibly give me an estimated delivery date. I told them that I understood what are consolidated move was, but to have all of my household goods and furniture and not have anyone to talk to or ask questions is extremely alarming. They continue to tell me that they could not give me any updates on where my stuff was or when it would be delivered. I finally get an email that my stuff was picked up and loaded onto a semi ************************************************************************************** and was a day away from dropping off my stuff. I havent even received my furniture/household goods and I can tell you that you do not ever want to use this moving company. They may be cheaper than their competitors, but theres a reason, for that. It is extremely unprofessional and inappropriate not to have someone to talk to when the company has essentially all of your material things that you own. Not to mention waiting for two weeks and still not have your stuff after they told you it would take 212 days.Also, their website reports that they have a 4.9/5 review rating and this cannot possibly be accurate. Seems like that is not an honest report.

    First of all if you see my reviews I usually only post 5-star reviews because I was taught if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. However, I really hope this review saves others from our fate. I interviewed and got quotes from 5 moving companies. While IVL wasn't the cheapest, the sales rep seemed very proactive and helpful, ******. I did a virtual inventory because that is all they offered. These are video inventories where I physically walked them through every inch of the house. I asked for a 2nd one because I wpanted to make sure it was accurate and was worried about it being virtual. This resulted in an increase which took the binding estimate up to the top of the range, still ok because the service seemed better. That ended on day of the move. First they said the inventory was wrong and it would cost $8,800 more! They started packing and loading before telling me this. Which when I talked to a supervisor SHE told me is illegal. I had no choice but to move forward. The packing was horrible, there is no other word. They ran out of paper so put pottery on top of pottery -you could see and hear it break as it was "packed". We didn't realize how bad it was until it was unloaded yesterday. Over 80% of the boxes weren't even labeled so the movers and I had no clue where to put them. They didn't pack a parts box, moving 101, so the hardware for 2 of our 3 beds, our dining room table and basketball hoop can't be put together. Not only is this a huge inconvenience *** cost because we can't sleep in our home, but I don't even know how to remedy the situation since it's specialized hardware, I can just go buy some screws. The supervisor was rude and completely incompetent. I still don't know, and have no way of verifying, if the estimator was grossly incompetent or if the day of move manager was, which resulted in over a 30% increase to an already market-high cost of moving.
