5 starsWe had only one week notice from our land lord that we had to move, fortunately International Van Lines was able to help us in such short notice! They were amazing! They took such care of my belongins, and they were fast and efficient.Review fromAbdullah A

1 starTerrible moving company, do not use them. We got 3 quotes, they came out the cheapest by $2k. BUT they have since nickel and dimed us 3x, asking for more money for things we talked about during initial discussion, yet somehow did not make it into the initial quote. And then asked for an extra $1600 at the time of pick up because apparently they messed up their estimate about amount of stuff. We have now paid more than any of our other quotes.AND theyve had our stuff for 4 days so far, have given NO estimate or info about when it will be delivered, even though we were promised to receive an estimate at the time of pick up. This is a trash company. They only reason they deserve 1 star and not 0 is because the packing guys did a good job.Review fromJenna M

1 starThis company is absolutely ridiculous. I have used multiple moving companies to move across country and they have been by far the most disappointing. After they picked up my stuff, I did not hear from them. No one reached out to inform me of an estimated delivery date or even just update me. After four days I attempted to call, email and text every number I had been given to no avail. I did not hear back from someone for over a day to try to get an update as no one had reached out to me five days after my stuff had been picked up for a move that was estimated to take 2-12 days. I was met with the explanation that they do not have routes as they do consolidated moves so they could not possibly give me an estimated delivery date. I told them that I understood what are consolidated move was, but to have all of my household goods and furniture and not have anyone to talk to or ask questions is extremely alarming. They continue to tell me that they could not give me any updates on where my stuff was or when it would be delivered. I finally get an email that my stuff was picked up and loaded onto a semi ************************************************************************************** and was a day away from dropping off my stuff. I havent even received my furniture/household goods and I can tell you that you do not ever want to use this moving company. They may be cheaper than their competitors, but theres a reason, for that. It is extremely unprofessional and inappropriate not to have someone to talk to when the company has essentially all of your material things that you own. Not to mention waiting for two weeks and still not have your stuff after they told you it would take 212 days. Also, their website reports that they have a 4.9/5 review rating and this cannot possibly be accurate. Seems like that is not an honest report.Review fromColleen O

1 starFirst of all if you see my reviews I usually only post 5-star reviews because I was taught if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. However, I really hope this review saves others from our fate. I interviewed and got quotes from 5 moving companies. While IVL wasn't the cheapest, the sales rep seemed very proactive and helpful, ******. I did a virtual inventory because that is all they offered. These are video inventories where I physically walked them through every inch of the house. I asked for a 2nd one because I wpanted to make sure it was accurate and was worried about it being virtual. This resulted in an increase which took the binding estimate up to the top of the range, still ok because the service seemed better. That ended on day of the move. First they said the inventory was wrong and it would cost $8,800 more! They started packing and loading before telling me this. Which when I talked to a supervisor SHE told me is illegal. I had no choice but to move forward. The packing was horrible, there is no other word. They ran out of paper so put pottery on top of pottery -you could see and hear it break as it was "packed". We didn't realize how bad it was until it was unloaded yesterday. Over 80% of the boxes weren't even labeled so the movers and I had no clue where to put them. They didn't pack a parts box, moving 101, so the hardware for 2 of our 3 beds, our dining room table and basketball hoop can't be put together. Not only is this a huge inconvenience *** cost because we can't sleep in our home, but I don't even know how to remedy the situation since it's specialized hardware, I can just go buy some screws. The supervisor was rude and completely incompetent. I still don't know, and have no way of verifying, if the estimator was grossly incompetent or if the day of move manager was, which resulted in over a 30% increase to an already market-high cost of moving.Review fromGary K

1 starOur move was contracted by International Van Lines, but they subcontracted the move to American Knights Moving, which we were informed the day before the move. IVL disparages moving brokers on their web site, but they appear to commonly broker all their moves. This summarizes just 1 incident of the debacle managed by IVL.When AKM called they informed us that the total move should take place in 1 day. Day 1 of move AKM reviewed the house contents to be moved, and increased the cost by 10%. In discussion by phone with the movers supervisor, he said that the initial estimate was only good to +/- 30%, while the in-person estimate was 100% accurate.Day 2 of move - about 1:00 PM the movers came to us and stated that we needed to prioritize what we wanted to move, because it would not all fit in the truck. When asked when they would return for the rest, they said that the contract was for the one truck and they would not be back. They did not offer any alternative, nor did they try to check for other arrangements. Upon discussing this with their supervisor, he told us that they would fill the truck and then go, leaving us to try to make other arrangements. This is despite the fact that they had performed a 100% accurate assessment of the total load the day before, and that they had originally said the move would take place in 1 day. After calling and leaving desperate messages with the only 2 contacts we had at ***, we contacted someone at the main customer service number. After many anxious minutes while the movers were getting ready to leave, the person was able to confirm that *** had contacted AKM to discuss arrangements. On Day 3, when AKM arrived many items became contentious, and they did not want to take many items that had been reviewed for the 100% accurate inventory. It is clear, from our experience, that IVL juices their reviews to try to maintain high ratings. Try somewhere else if you want an honest company that stands behind their estimates!Review fromDarrell S

2 starsDon't be fooled with ****** glossed over reviews. If someone takes the time to write a long review there is probably a good reason for it and not some AI generated review. I did an international move from ******* ******* to ***** *****. I'm a veteran and have moved back and forth overseas with the military 8 times over a 20 year career so I have experience with moving. Rarely did I have anything damaged as it was all properly wrapped and packaged. This time was completely different. I've had multiple items not just damaged but destroyed. Television looked like it was stepped on (destroyed), antique vase put in a box with no wrapping or other protection (destroyed) , fragile glassware put in boxes with stereo equipment and nothing was wrapped (destroyed), dining chair leg completely snapped off (destroyed) amongst other items damaged. Shipment looks like there were rodents present as we found items with chewing marks. The **************** that unpacked the shipment was horrified by what they saw. I've tried contacting the company but have gotten the run around and it seems they have ghosted me.Review fromLeon L

5 starsGreat experience, the gentleman who moved us were very professional and careful with my furniture. The IVL team work fast and efficient, I would recommend using this company. The price was very reasonable and worth not having to struggle moving during a holiday season.Review fromBrooks Z

5 starsThe IVL team was efficient and professional. All of my possessions were perfectly packed. All of the large pieces of furniture were placed where I wanted them, with adjustments made when I changed my mind. I could not have been more pleased. I would totally recommend this company.Review fromJames H

1 starFirst off, whatever they quote you... add at least $2,000 to it. They nickle and dime you to death... Have stairs? Extra charge. Have an elevator?? Extra charge. Have to walk their dollies more than X feet??? Extra charge. Have more boxes (i.e. used space) than you ESTIMATED... Extra charge... THEN on top of that, their default LOSS "compensation" package (the one you don't have to PAY EXTRA for) is based not on VALUE of what's lost, but WEIGHT... so... a jewelry box full of jewelry that weighs 2lbs, but has contents worth $3,000... yeah, you'll be "compensated" a whopping $1.20 (i.e. $0.60 per POUND). I know this because they lost one of my boxes... They don't just load a truck and drive it to the new location... they load it, drive it to a warehouse, UNLOAD it and re-load it into another truck when they get around to delivering it... Oh, and there's no guaranteed delivery dates... just a window... could be up to 20+ days. I waited 2 weeks... it was a 1 day drive from old house to new house. Then there's the payment methods... Credit card? Nope. Check? Nope. I had to go to the post office to get them Postal Money Orders. Obnoxious. I saw someone else describe these guys as the "Spirit airlines of moving companies". That couldn't possibly be more accurate. Stay away.Review fromAnders B

1 starStay clear of this business at all costs!Locked in move in Feb for April 2024 move. Very tight schedule and little room for error. Paid $1600 deposit Everything seemed professionally handled so far. Id done my online research. Boy, was I wrong!Got late Friday afternoon phone call one week prior to move and was told that they canceled the move. Couldnt pull it off and had no trucks in my area. Got a were sorry and a promise of my deposit back.Im now totally ******* and scrambling to find another company on short notice and likely at a higher price point for me.They were happy to promise the moon and keep my money for 2 months and then cancel and leave me in a HUGE pickle Never had less professional service. A disgrace, really.I implore you to stay clear of this company for your own sake
