      Dollar Rent a Car is a scam. I would never use them again and I recommend you should never use them ever.

      We returned the car and we filled up the tank before returning the car but we got charged 115 dollars for fuel after someone at the car rental place told us that we were good to go. We submitted the disputed fuel charge form with a copy of the invoice for the car rental and a copy of the fuel receipt the very next day and we did not get any words back or refund after one month has passed.

      They are very unreasonable and unprofessional.

      BEWARE!!! Please save yourself money, time and frustration and book a car from ANYONE OTHER than Dollar. If Dollar is your cheapest option, don't worry, you'll pay later. If you have a question or change of plans that require reservation edits where you need to speak with a human, good luck remaining on hold for 30 minutes-up to 2 hours. IF you reach a human (that you can't understand), they will jack up the price so much so that you begin to believe that you've been funneled to scammers from an independent company in ***** where they get a cut of the price increase. My flight was cancelled and I needed to change my pick-up/drop off dates. You CAN'T make these kinds of changes on the web site forcing you to call. I called the number on the web site and cross checked it with ******* After on hold for 45 minutes, the "agent" told me that my original $450 reservation was now going to cost $1400. When I questioned the price, I was put on hold. When the "agent" returned, I was given a lower price of $1050. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was promptly disconnected. Not having time to wait on the phone again for half the day, I gave up and hoped my reservation had not been cancelled when I arrived at my destination. Upon arrival to pick up my car at the airport Dollar Rental counter, I was shocked, but relieved, to find that my reservation was still active and I was only charged $125 for changing my reservation. So...who did I speak with on the phone via the number on the Dollar web site who wanted to charge me over double for the same reservation????? The wait time at the Dollar airport counter was an hour+ while EVERY OTHER car rental company sailed through their lines. Though the counter employees seemed to be trying, it was a Hot Mess behind the counter with employees struggling with their computer system, keys, crowd management and frustrated customers. Please save yourself time, money and frustration and rent a car from ANYWHERE else!!!!!!

      This company is charging deposits and refuel fees and not giving the customer their deposit back when the car is returned with a full tank of gas. Every phone number they have listed does not answer and every email comes back undeliverable. I have also mailed them at three different locations and that mail gets returned stating not accepting mail at that address. I am out what I consider a lot of money and want to be reimbursed.

      The only good thing I can say about my recent rental experience was the actual car itself. A new Nissan sentra with remarkable gas milage. I rented a manages choice vehicle. After waiting in line nearly an hour (two working the desk with another employee sitting and observing) the agent attempted to give me an electric vehicle. When I explained that Electric wouldn't work for our trip, he offered a gas vehicle at an additional cost. That amounted to + $307. Yes there were many gas vehicles available but, according to the desk agent they must issue electric first! Hope you feel good about stealing money from X customers. I will never rent from DOLLAR OR HERTZ AGAIN@@

      I will NEVER use Dollar again. I flew from ************* into *******, **, and rented a car to drive to *********************, **. While in WSS, Hurricane ***** hit and I was notified that my flight would be effected. I didn't really want to fly out during a hurricane anyway, so I looked around for ways to return to ********. The easiest way would be to drive the car I had and return it to the Dollar location in *************. After several frustrating phone calls with people who didn't seem to understand what a hurricane is, I finally accepted that Dollar was going to insist that I return the car to *******, even if it meant driving into the hurricane. I reserved a car from ***** and drove several hours to *******. I managed to get a hotel room and spent the night watching the rain and wondering when the hurricane would hit. While doing this, I received an alert on my phone advising people not to drive in ******* unless they had been directed to evacuate. Ignoring this, I got my car to the Dollar rental at the airport and picked up my second car at the **************************** at the airport. As I left ******* on I-40, the tumultous rain began. Five hours--of rain so hard it seemed that it might break the car windows; of everyone driving with hazard lights on so we could see each other; of avoiding downed trees which covered entire lanes of traffic; of white-knuckled driving such as I have never experienced. And all because Dollar would not agree to allow me to return a car to a different one of their locations because of a natural disaster. NEVER AGAIN!

      Bozeman Montana airport location - Rental time and date - between 11:30 am and Noon on July 28th 2024 - terrible customer service. The girl at the counter had a terrible attitude and vas very disrespectful and unprofessional. Had to ask for the manager - who seemed afraid to apologize or say that her employee should. Then the rental - in mountain country - had no spare! Only found out when I got a flat in the mountains and had to pay over $500 to have the car towed all the way back to the airport to get it back - 1 1/2 hours - since it had no spare and the tire couldn’t be patched/plugged. The agent never apologized. They said they don’t includes spares in all vehicles - and they don’t inform you that there is no spare -which is laughable and they should be worried that they will be sued in a class action law suit. Never will rent from them again. Clearly a terrible company to operate this way on “no spares - no disclosure” and the attitudes of the employees at this location that we travel too multiple times a year (first time we’ve tried Dollar) were horrible. Clearly whoever hired and didn’t fire the girl who dealt with me - before the flat - when I got to the counter - is a problem too. She tried to say that the girl wasn’t really working directly for her - whatever that means.

      Waited over an hour at the airport dollar car rental when I prepaid and was told there would be a no wait pickup. That was an omen of problems to come. After laving the airport and on the way to my hotel the vehicle said reduced power and would not go over 10 miles per hour. I called dollar and they said if you turn the ignition for 30 seconds and restart I should have no further problem. The next morning the car ran fine until I was about several miles from my hotel. The power failure happened again and I slowly made it back to my hotel in heavy traffic. I called Dollar and they said they would send a tow truck to take me and vehicle back to the airport. I waited over 3 hours and the tow never came. I called a family member to pick my wife and I to take us to the celebration of life we were there for. We missed most of the event. The next day I again called Dollar. They sent a tow truck to the hotel and towed the vehicle to a storage site and took me to the airport to get another car. They questioned my return of the car but eventually gave me another vehicle. 2 1/2 days of anxiety and frustration!When we returned home I filed request for refund from Dollar but no response. I made a 2nd request and still no reply or apology now a month later. Will never use Dollar Car Rental again.

      I was charged $150 for cleaning and the receipt says I accepted this charge. I DID NOT ACCEPT THIS CHARG, and I even cleared out the car before returning it. I've rented from Dollar many times over the past 10 years at the *** Airport location. I've noticed the fees increased over the years and many more fees were added totaling over$85 per rental. I also don't appreciate not being able to call support. They only accept written inquiries that take 5 days to respond. Do yourself a favor and rent from someone else!

      This company Sucks!! They were supposed to work until 1 am at Syracuse, NY airport but decided to go home early-by at least 25 minutes. No one there to provide the car I reserved. Do not use this company!!!!

      Very very very disappointed. I literally flew ALL DAY LONG to land in Colorado Springs Colorado. The Dollar desk refused to assist me as I was next in line! She made me wait & wait & wait while she took care of the “Men” behind me. She wouldn’t tell me there were no more keys available which I certainly could have understood. Horrible customer service at Colorado Springs *******! Never again!!!!! ***** ***** (Landed on August 5th).
