I rent a car through a priceline and paid $136.00 for 4 days car rental. Priceline send me the confirmación and the company that was going to rent me was Thrifty car rental but instead of them renting, I ended getting the rental from Dollar rental car, I show them my reservation number and show them my insurance card, told the customer service person that I did not want insurance cover because I have full coverage and my credit car pays for liability too. No the customer service pushed, obligated me to buy their coverage saying that I was going to be driving without coverage, at this time I could not cancel reservation with priceline because I was going to loose the $136.00 acording to their policy. I ended paying $35 more per day.$140 more + the $136 with Priceline.Dollar rental car are reapers, take advantage of their customers. I have not return the car yet, I will in two days when rental ends but I am concern that they will try to reap me with more charges. I request that they return my extra $140.00 since they forced people to pay for insurance, when customers have their own insurance. Dollar rental car should be put out of business. I see they are not accredited, they are not wordy to trust. They are reapers.

I should have read the reviews before deciding to spend my hard-earned money with Dollar Rent a Car. They are scamming people on the fuel charge. The agent told me that the fuel surcharge was a charge that will be adjusted once the vehicle was returned. Apparently, they have a practice of lying to the customers just to make additional money from them. This company is a scam!!!THEY DO NOT CARE HOW MANY LIES ARE TOLD BY THEIR AGENTS. ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY!

Dollar Rental Car at Fort Myers Airport is HORRIBLE (as well as Dollar Rental in general)!!! I rented my Dollar car through Expedia for $360 for 7 days including all fees. I paid a deposit of $259 to Expedia and was notified/expected to pay $101 at the counter when we picked up the car. The agent at the counter asked if we wanted the additional insurance coverage. I told her no - twice - because my car insurance covers my husband and I in a rental car (I have done this with all of our rentals with Budget and Enterprise). The mumbling agent asked us to sign the electronic pad and handed us three pieces of something that I can only describe as shipping stickers. Each one had a different figure on it. The one that was highlighted said $379, which I assumed was our $101 due plus the $200 refundable fee (plus a few other charges). We left the airport and drove 45 minutes away and my credit card monitoring started pinging. I was charged a total of $670 dollars on top of the $259 deposit that I already paid. I contacted Dollar as soon as I realized they were charging my credit card. First I was told to wait until I returned the car to dispute (dropping off at 4:30 a.m. - counter is closed), then I was told to call the 800 number, where I was told "you signed it, you owe it". I called several more times and was basically told the same thing. Nothing we can do, you signed it. In the end I paid over $800 for a $360 rental car. I made the awful mistake of using them instead of ****** to save a few bucks - well I learned a very expensive lesson. Never again Dollar, never again. They have deceptive business practices and I will never rent from them again. I would not recommend renting from them. Save yourself some aggravation and don't rent from Dollar.

I was charged incorrectly. I did not ask for an upgrade rather I was offered by a Dollar employee who told me that it would be at the same cost of my original rental and also said there would be no fee for the car seat. I was charged for both at the time of return. I made a reimbursement complaint and they denied it saying I misunderstood. I got scammed by Dollar and this is how they conduct business at MCO Orlando Airport. I told them make no mistakes there was no misunderstanding on my behalf. Do not recommend renting from them.

Horrible!!! Charge $250 extra stating to clean it. No smoking in it. No pets in it. No eating in it! It was spotless. Now they won't give me my money back! And to top it off I rented from Hertz who is also Dollar. Will never use either again!

We reserved a car over 3 months in advance. But when we arrived at the airport they did not have a car available. The staff told us to wait for 1.5 hrs for the car. After the 1.5 hrs waiting, already 10:30 pm. We asked if the car was ready and they rudely told us that we are number 14 in line and they should have one ready in about 7 - 8 hours. We asked if we could go rent a hotel and pick it up in the morning. They told us if we left we lose our place in line and they wont hold the car for us. My dad is going through cancer treatment and could no sleep on the bench at the rental car place. For that matter, neither could any of us. It wouldve been horrible. So we were stranded and had to find other means of transportation I thought when you rented a car and reserved it in advance that they would have ready for you. I guess thats not the case with dollar rental, I will never use them again and not recommend them to anyone else. They are not reliable or dependable they are rude and inconsiderate

The company is charging for daily unlimited use of toll transponders even when the option is turned down. At ************************* they gave me the option of signing up for unlimited use or $10/day which I took since you need to pay tolls to leave *****. Expecting a charge of $20, they instead charged me $149 for the unlimited option. When I queried customer service they said that once they detected I used the transponder they switched me to the unlimited option even though they acknowledge that I did not pick that option. Further queries were ignored. I checked the internet and apparently this is a very common scam they use and Dollar/Thrifty apparently have the highest fees. So they charge the lowest amount in many cases, but will scam you out by charging your credit card for additional fees that you have not signed up for.

Car Dollar Rental at Gerald R. Ford airport is horrible. I went through Expedia and I was given a 2022 car that was dirty in the inside and outside dust had collected so it had to have sat for awhile. I did not have any windshield wiper fluid and the car made a noise that sounded like the window wasn't rolled up all the way when it was. They said their car wash was broken and that I can substitute but all the cars needed to be wash so there was nothing clean to select fom. They did not offer to reimburse the carwash I paid for. I strongly suggest to AVOID at all costs.
