      Worst rental experience ever. Rented a car at Phila Airport. Right front tire developed a slow leak that did not become noticeable until 4 days into the rental. THERE WAS NO SPARE IN THE CAR AT ALL!. When the tire ran flat, I first purchased a can of Run Flat that did not bring the tire back. I was forced to fill up the tire twice with air at varios gas stations and then finally had to purchase a NEW TIRE! We called for assistance and they told me the closes place to replace the care was at Newark Airport - another 60 miles north on the NJ Parkeway! Total cost to me for run flat, air, and new tire was over $120! Then I get a charge from "Plat Pass" for another $129 for tolls on the NJ Parkway! We never used their device and put it in the glove box while I used my NJ EZ Pass to pay all tolls. I have written both Dollar Rental as wall as Plate Pass and have not had the courtesy of a response! Dollar

      I booked my reservation and total was to be $297.00 per my email. When we arrived at the airport they asked if we wanted to prepay fuel, etc. and we said no to everything so he said just the basic, we said yes. So he said to initial here. When we returned to drop off the car our charged totaled $550 so we went back to the counter and we were told we initialed / approved the extra $49.99 coverage a day which we did not. They said well you accepted it and I said we accepted the basic reservation of the $297.00 so basically they manipulated us into approving something we had no idea what we were approving. Never again.

      Rented a car out of Dallas Love Field. Everything was fine until it was time to get my deposit back that was on hold. Was told it would be $200 (in writing) and ended up they put a hold of $500. I have rented over 100's of vehicles in my lifetime and never seen a hold take so long to go back to my bank. Usually takes 24/48 hours to return my funds. Their customer service takes a week to respond back with a generic template to contact my bank. My bank told me they were not telling the truth that they haven't released the hold. This rental agency kept my money on hold for 16 days which is truly unacceptable. Never rent from Dollar and stay away from their branch in Dallas love field airport since they were the branch who I had this issue with. Truly unacceptable.

      We rented a car and were given an electric vehicle, which is not yet mainstream. The rental company informed us that, based on our rate, they could provide any vehicle and wouldnt honor a cancellation without a fee. We requested to see this in writing as our contract specified only an "automatic car." The representative, who was unhelpful and lacked knowledge, couldn't provide this information. Despite informing her that our destination was a national park without charging stations, she showed us a misleading map and was sarcastic about our reluctance.Upon pickup, the car was charged to 82%. We were told to return it with at least 75% charge to avoid additional fees. Despite starting with a range of 340 miles, the battery was nearly depleted after just 110 miles. We tried several charging stations, but none charged beyond 82%. We left the car to charge overnight, but it only reached 87% after 10 hours.When we called for assistance, we were on hold for 55 minutes before the call dropped. On our second attempt, we waited another 42 minutes before speaking to someone who said they couldn't help because emergency roadside assistance had been contacted. We requested to drop off the car at a closer location but were told this wasn't possible, told us to drive thr hour to the nearest drop-off hoping for the best.After waiting 4 hours for emergency team, I reached out on FB. We ended up waiting 13 hours without a response from emergency assistance. We requested either a refund or an exchange of the car at a closer location, but both were denied. The company cited a national system outage as the reason for the emergency wait and inability to arrange a different drop-off location.This experience ruined our trip. We spent the majority of our time in the car with a 2-year-old confined to a car seat. We were left without any viable point of contact and were given no replacements. Considering the circumstances, we are requesting a review and a call back from management.

      This is the worst company; I did not receive a refund even though I canceled within 24 hours. The person confirmed the cancellation, but I saw it active after a few days at the latest. Then I called back, and they said it was a system error, so I could go and cancel online. That is no problem. I will get a refund. Basically, they scammed me into canceling the reservation without giving me a refund. This type of company should receive a severe fine for failing to follow the procedures and scamming people like this. How is it possible the consumer is not protected from these people? I lost $250. It could be nothing for them, but it is a good amount for the average American people. Worst company, please don't trust these people. If I don't get my money, at least I wish someone put them out of business. Unethical business.

      Never Again!!! The employees were courteous and helpful at the dest and were rater speedy at the airport. I rented a car and the associate quoted me a price for 500 and change for the week with coverage. I ended up electing to keep the car one more day instead of ubering to the airport. I put the new return time in and it gave me a quote of $620 and change so I agreed. This is after I had to return my first car that had tire damage...they told me the gas was on them. I returned the car to the terminal and they said they'd take care if everything and I was all set. Checked my credit card the next day to find an almost $800 charge on my card. I tried to call customer service for dollar and hertz that owns them and there is no department that handles disputes in price. None of the free upgrades were honored and I ended up paying almost double the price of what they quoted. This company can't be trusted.

      Absolutely the worst customer service ever in my life! Horrible communication, no help at all! Spare yourself this awful experience and rent from another company! These guys should not be in business.

      On 7.8.2024, I was scheduled to fly from New Orleans to Houston Hobby. However, due to Hurricane Beryl all outgoing flights to Houston were cancelled so I decided to rent a car from Dollar Rental and drive from New Orleans to Houston, returning the car the next day on 7.9.2024 to the Dollar rental on Panair RD at Houston Hobby airport. At the time, Houston was experiencing a city-wide power outage however I still attempted to return the car on 7.9.2024 at about 8:00pm. The gate was locked, and no one was there so I returned the car the next day on 7.10.2024 @ 1:30pm. When I arrived at the location, the office was hooked up to a generator and there was a back log of cars waiting to be returned. I asked the associate if it was a problem that I was day late because no one was there the previous day and she told me it was fine and not to worry about it. I received my statement of charges and saw that I was charged for FOUR days. The statement says that I returned the car on 7.12.2024 when I returned it on 7.10.2024. I'm assuming because of the power outage issue they were unable to check in cars so I was charged for the additional days. I am requesting a refund. Reservation ID: ***********

      Worst experience of our trip to Charlotte NC. The Customer Care service we contacted before we even returned the vehicle must of used a template because they sure did not read the email I sent. I will never rent from Dollar Car Rental again, customer service is horrible. They charged me an additional 100.00+ dollars because they did not have any cars for us when we arrived for our car that was paid for 6 months ahead of time. The 4 representatives that were at the counter were all talking to each other and on their phones did not even acknowledge us standing right in front of them. They could not find my reservation, luckily I had it printed out and handed it to them and it was still a struggle for the rep to find it. It was over 45 min wait just to get a car that was booked 6 months in advance. Horrible service...........
