      Dollar Car Rental at Sacramento, CA airport Dollar Car Rental charged us $75 for fuel saying we had agreed to have fuel filled by them on return. WE NEVER DO THAT! When we returned the car, the fuel tank was full. Apparently, this is an ongoing issue because on their voicemail, they explain clearly what to do if charged for fuel but you filled the car upon returning. They say You MUST have the receipt to prove you filled it! We found out days later that $75 had been taken out of our deposit for 5 gallons of fuel (at over $12 a gallon!). This is of course is after we threw the receipt away. The most irritating thing is that I have yet found a way to talk to a human being. I believe Dollar Car Rental does this purposely. We have been scammed. Hopefully, someone can help with me with this!

      Terrible customer service for Dollar Buffalo International Airport. Waited for an hour and half in the line for my reservation that I have paid in advanced about two months ago and they told me that they have NO car available! I had to get an Uber to take me to my hotel out of my pocket and had to make other arrangement for a rental car with a different company because Dollar will not have a car available for the next couple of days. They do not reimburse Uber ride costs at all. It is your responsibility. Never reserve a car from Dollar ever again! Not worth saving a few dollars.

      I had a reservation booked, reservation *********** for $320.64, made on 6/12/24. I received an email confirmation regarding this reservation. Ten days later, I received an email saying Dollar canceled my reservation and rebooked it at a rate close to $2000. How can a company confirm a reservation at a certain rate and then cancel it. I am asking they honor the original reservation.

      I booked a rental for my wife. Did the online check in and declined the damage loss of $34.99 per day. Upon my wife going to the counter and getting the car they gave her 2 options for damage loss even though she said she didnt want it. I saw it when the contract was emailed to me. Have been on the phone with awful customer service and long wait times but whatever they do they wont connect you to the counter at the airport. They keep telling me the only way to get the damage loss removed is to return the rental and start a new contract. Issue is she drove 4 hours to her destination. First time renting with Dollar and the customer service or lack of it will make it our last. If I could give 0 stars I would.

      Worst rental car experience ever: My wife, young son, and I had to fly as an emergency to Buffalo Niagara International Airport on July 4th, 2024. I booked a car with Dollar earlier in the day and then received an email CONFIRMATION from Dollar. When we arrived to the counter on July 4th, 2024 @ 6:45pm to check in, the employee (wearing no name badge or any sort of representation that he was an employee as he was in “street clothes”) said to me “I don’t do same day reservations, therefore I won’t honor your reservation.” I proceeded to show him my email confirmation from Dollar and tell him that I’m so confused why I have one but that he won’t rent me a car which I need as an emergency. He then said to me “you’re a creep and if you don’t leave I’m calling the police” (he actually picked up the phone). My wife, very young son, and I were in shock and actually frightened by this employee. I NEVER yelled, raised my voice or ever used any profanity. At that time, and being frightened by him, we left and used a taxi service paying more than double what the car would have cost us through Dollar. This was my first, and now last time, ever using Dollar Rental Car.

      We made a rental while in Grenada. As we were hit by a hurricane, travel was changed and needed to move by 4 hours. Dollar would not bend and help us AT ALL. I will never use dollar rent a car ever again. And I will make sure all my friends and family who travel will never use them either

      Booked months in advance to not have a car absolutely ridiculous. Seems like a common issue with them avoid this place like fire.

      they are a bunch of scammers. They live on your fear that you might not get a car for atrip that you planned so long ago. Their tactics are so diverse that you cannot prepared for. Just be far away from them.

      I rented a car, with reservation, from the Buffalo, NY airport and waited 2 hours before I received the car. The attendant was dismissive of any customer concerns and could not justify the shortage of vehicles other than they were being washed. Fast forward to turn-in at Rochester, NY Airport and there was no attendant at the Dollar turn-in booth and left the key in a key return box. I received my email receipt indicating charges for gas and the Toll pay pass. I never signed up for the Dollar prepaid gas, filled the tank before turning in, and did not drive on any toll roads. To make matters worse their customer service phone number gives no access to a service rep and it directs you to their website. Now we wait for Dollar to contact us. The worst experience ever and I would recommend no one use Dollar. Based on the other complaints Dollar does not understand customer service and they have no intent to improve their operation.
