      I wish I would have read reviews before I booked with Dollar Rental Car. We haven't needed to rent a car for vacation in YEARS so I did not think anything of it. If I could give them ZERO stars, I would. We prepaid our rental online and knew we would have some additional fees upon pick up. When we got to the counter, the agent was basically telling us that we had to add an additional driver for a fee because the reservation was in my name but we used my husbands credit card. Also, he was basically forcing us to get the additional liability insurance which we did not want. We went rounds with him and were not able to reach an agreement so the agent stated he would void the rental. I have proof of the rental being voided but we have not had it refunded to our credit card and it has been over 2 weeks now. There is NO NUMBER TO ACTUALLY TALK TO ANYONE except some stupid form online which I have yet to reach anyone yet. DO NOT USE!!!!!

      Horrible experience with Dollar Car Rental on June 28th,2024 I went to counter with confirmation number and emails.. the entire staff were completely rude, refused to honor my reservation due to incorrect rate number which I have no control over...tried to contact customer service I was put on hold for over a hour and half..I finally gave up..I was lefted stranded

      I never had a problem with Dollar Car Rental until my previous experience. While driving one of their rental cars, one of the tires blew out after it hit a pot hole on the highway. Their Emergency Roadside Assistance was very helpful and issued a voucher to have the tire replaced at one of their vendors. After locating a vendor, the remaining tires also needed to be replaced due to their physical conditions. This was truly a maintenance situation involving Dollar's vehicle. Although I never made it to my original destination, and was able to return home safely, I was grateful that me and my family remained safe during this unfortunate incident. When I returned the rental, the company sympathized, but still charged me $80.48. They issued me a voucher for $100.00 to compensate.I don't want a voucher, nor should I be charged for anything. My time was spent having their rental car serviced, when in reality the car should have never been rented out. Apparently Customer Safety is NOT their first priority, because they cannot even give a sufficient reason why they cannot or should I say will not refund my $80.48.

      On March 9 I rented a car from Dollar Rent a Car in Orlando FL. I was charged an extra $158.80 for liability insurance. I did not ask for insurance because my GEICO insurance covers cars that I rent. The agent said nothing about the insurance charge. To all renters, you need to tell the agent that you DO NOT want insurance. Otherwise they will automatically ad it to your bill. Their customer service is nonexistant. It is impossible to spear to a representative st Dollar. Voice mail ****.

      I rented a rental car from dollar rental on June 15th and returned it on June 16th. They charged me 578.00 for a deposit. They never gave me back my deposit. I tried calling the customer service line multiple times and they keep telling me there is no live agent for billing. They told to submit a form about 20 times which I did. They still have not responded to me. It is frustrating to say the least.

      I reserved my car months before my trip prepaid my deposit and thought I was set to go. When I got there I had to use a different card because my account got hacked. I was told I would be refunded the money and would have to be charged again for the hole amount plus the deposit. So I waited for my refund and my deposit back the 30 days and have not received anything back yet. They told me they took my refund because it was less than 30 days and I haven't heard anything back on my deposit. We went with another family and they had to do the same thing with a different card but the other family got there deposit and there refund. I feel discrimination and contradicting behavior

      I wish I would have researched Dollar Car Rental before renting from them, I see they have a terrible rating here on the BBB. I rented a vehicle through Tickets at Work and prepaid $1100.00 for 7 passenger vehicle. When we arrived at the airport we were asked if we wanted to upgrade to a bigger vehicle because the vehicle we rented was not going to transport all of us plus our luggage. She told us it would be $50/day for this upgrade which should have been $850.00. I ended up being charged another $1700.00 when I received my credit card statement, I had assumed the total of $1700.00 included my initial charge of $1100.00 but it did not, that was on top of the initial charge. I have reached out to Dollar Car Rental and they are not willing to do anything at all even though their representatives NEVER explained these charges were on top of our initial booking. HORRIBLE service! I will NEVER rent or recommend Dollar Car Rental again. As I see HERTZ name is on my receipt as well, that is disappointing they are affiliated as I won't rent from them as well!

      Through the American Airlines website I redeemed 88,000 miles to rent a car for use in New York State (pick up at JFK). This was the amount advertised to rent the car. This website is apparently managed by a third party, rocket miles, who then applied the miles to Dollar rental. When we arrived to rent the vehicle, the rental company denied us the car because we had a NY state driver's license and this fare was reserved for international visitors. My complaint against dollar: why are they able to do discriminatory pricing towards local drivers? This seems to be unfair pricing practices, which are not transparently shared. I searched the entire website and read all the small print, and never found this explicitly stated. Reading the terms and conditions, it said that if renting locally, there may be some additional requirements, but these were not forthcoming.

      The worst experience I have ever had trying to talk with a live person you can only go through automated system that tells you to push numbers for information that has nothing to do about the reason your calling on the phone for about two hours trying to go through each prompt and got no where return the car and problem still not resolve NO STAR

      booked online via my express ID and somehow they do not see that and wanted to charge me extra to add an extra driver at the airport....this is the only reason I sued Dollar rental car....it was 130am so there was not time to argue.
