My wife reserved a car on Travelocity for $518.76 and pre-paid $356 toward it. Upon arriving, the front desk staff asked for my credit card and I provided it to them. The car was returned and I was told that the receipt is in my email. After I left, I saw that I had been charged $638.05, nearly $120 more than what was quoted on Travelocity.Numerous contacts to the company's customer service web portal and email to explain why I was overcharged has resulted in silence. Can I get the overcharge credited?

they gave me the run around, saying a scratch then a cleaning fee. They have yet to show me any evidence. However the biggest factor is that I dont smoke! It just seems like they randomly charged my card and ONLY when I called them out about it did they say ANYTHING to me about. ALSO I got a receipt after they figured out a charge. Again they never sent evidence saying there were ashes in the car- but even if they did send evidence now how could I possibly believe them??? Its not fair that my card was charged when I didnt do anything- they didnt even have an explanation as to why they charged it. Im posting this to all of there media outlets as well. People have to watch out for them because they apparently are scammers who will just make things up to charge your card

The stars reflect the service, charged an extra 100 bucks for gas already filled. Also gave me a flooded car.

I prepaid for a rental when I went on vacation to *******. When I presented my debit/visa for the confirmation and pickup, they informed me they needed to run a credit check and hold $500 (for a $170 rental). As someone who has successfully navigated life without ever getting a credit card (personal preference) a hold is not uncommon, but $500 dollars is outrageous! Additionally, to protect against a recent identity theft situation my credit was temporarily frozen. The Dollar representative couldnt help me. I asked him for his last name, he didn't have one, I asked him for his employee ID number, he didnt have one (yeah right) I asked him for a refund, and he said he couldnt process one, but that I would need to call customer service. What a compete failure and disappointment. Never using Dollar rental or their parent company HERTZ again after this.

I booked through Priceline and Dollar wanted to charge me for another additional price because I was late picking up the vehicle due to a plane delay. Their facility was closed after midnight when my flight arrived. The following morning they wanted to charge me an additional price and not honor the Priceline price; for refusing additional payment directly to them, my card was charged. I disputed with my credit card company. Im on the Do Not Rent list.,

We rented a car in Florida last August. I documented the damage on the car with my phone. A week or so after we returned it they said we owe them for a damaged windshield. I forwarded them the photos and told them to check their cameras because it wasn't us and never heard back. I also asked for their pre and post inspection report since no one ever inspected the car with me when we picked it up or when we dropped it off. They never responded after that. Just got a call from my insurance company saying Dollar filed a claim for the broken windshield almost 10 months later. Never rent from this company.

I was overcharged $264.00. I submitted 2 inquiries with Dollar online form, 5 days & no response as they promised they would when reading instructions to fill out form. Rented the car for 4 days, charged $184+ including ************ + $200 hold deposit. Extended online for extra 4 days, charged $155 including ************. Returned car 1 day early, should have been charged $128.75 for 3 extra days + $184 =$302.75 total. Charged $566+ on credit card, will file dispute. Wanted to give Dollar Rental time to respond to my online form inquiry, they never did, no surprise. Will never rent from them again, total Rip **************** Car rented at ************************************* Car Rental Center, *********, **.

There was no attendant present when I dropped off my car rental so I went to the front desk and they assured me it was OK to leave the car. I accidentally walked out of the rental place with the key and was immediately emailed a receipt of excess charges including a $500 charge for the key that had been returned within an hour of me parking the car and realizing I still had it . I was also charged for a full tank of gas at $126 after just refueling it completely across the street. Other charges were added on as well. This is thievery and fraud which needs to be investigated by the Attorney General of Nevada based on the countless other experiences I'm reading. I will be pursuing legal action and contacting the Attorney General of Nevada if this situation isn't promptly rectified. I will also be pursuing every avenue of consumer reporting to warn people if this isn't made right.

Absolute ripoff. They try to act like theyre gonna give you good pricing, then tack on so many fees that it winds up being more expensive than just going with another company. They have way too many hidden fees.
