      Dollar car rental falsely charged my card for $500. Added outrageous cleaning fees and an insurance I didn't agree to. I spent many days trying to get my stolen money back from them. After two months and finally disputing the charge with my credit company, they returned it with no contact or communication, owning up to their guilt. I can only imagine they are doing this to many people, hoping they don't check their credit card statements. I recommend everyone that is robbed by this company contact the governor, attorney general, bbb, consumer protection, and the highest up in this company, although it's impossible to talk to someone live.

      Absolute fraud! Dont do business with Dollar. They overcharged our account by $350, which they say they will refund, for not turning the vehicle in on time. Vehicle was turned in on the exact day it was supposed to be turned in, then our credit card was charged overage for three extra days. This is done intentionally, how many people dont actually review their CC statements to catch the fraudulent charges? I bet they make a killing on this fraud. This issue overshadows the whole experience. They didnt even have a car the night of arrival at the airport, we had to come back the next day to get a vehicle. No offer to cover the Uber charges we had to pay because they couldnt provide a car. This is the case of corporate greed, fraud and deceit. How a company like this can survive is mind boggling.

      The ***************** location goes by deceptive marketing. First the app for advance checkin wasnt working to take your picture so I check in at the counter and was charged with a $12 fee to do that to which they didnt even apologize or take the fee off. While checking in I was asked if I wanted to pay for the refuel package. I responded by saying that I wasnt going to pay $10 a gallon for gas Ill fill it myself. The clerk told me it was $3.17 a gallon. Of course Im going to say yes to that. When I bring the vehicle back with a 1/2 tank of gas, there is no person to check your vehicle you just leave it there which Im ok with. Then when I receive my bill, there was that $12 fee and I was charged $56 for the refuel. I called and told them I brought it back with a 1/2 tank of gas. They told me it was a flat rate, which I was not told previously. I then said even with that it has a 13 gallon tank and at $3.17 a gallon as I was quoted, it would be the most $40 to fill it. All they said is we reviewed and have no further solution for me. Very deceptive and they dont explain things. Might be why when I went they were the company with no waiting.

      I recently rented a car from Dollar car rental Houston, in March 2024. My rental was for 3 days. Instead, I was charged for 4 days, when I returned the car. Upon returning the car at the agreed time on third day of my rental, I drove into the rental parking lot, there was no one there to check the car in. I then went to the front desk to ask if anyone was going to come and give me my receipt. I was told to leave the keys in the car and that a receipt would be emailed to me. I boarded my flight home. I received an email the following day, only to find out that, they had charged me an extra day, and indicating that i returned the rental the following morning, when I was already back at my destination. You can't reach anyone over the phone to dispute this error and are told to send an email. They are a dishonest company and if you don't check your receipt you will be ripped off. Their cars also have such high mileage and have dents and scratches all over. Not a reputable company to rent through. I have used them 3 times and twice I have had issues with them. Stay away from them please. They engage in deceptive practices. Still waiting to get a refund for the extra day.

      Horrible/non existent customer service. Fake fees. No availability to drop car off at agreed upon time. Exorbitant fees for road side assistance when none was offered.

      I'm very upset that I received a 5.36 toll charge and the company charged me an additional ***** as a convenience fee on top of the 5.36 toll charge what a scam this was.

      Yes, they are shameful with their fraudulent "EXTRA CHARGES" - $400.00 for outside washing/smoking ... the car smelled like smoke inside when I got it and I don't smoke. The car was clean on the outside and did not warrant any such bill for $400.00 washing. They wash every car.Someone in billing took my bill - sent me the regular bill for ****** and then twenty minutes later sent a updated bill for ******. When I tried to reach them there was no human contact. I even asked my credit card to help and they didn't get anywhere. This is downright fraud to keep their business going... bill the good guy...just tack on un warranted fees.I'm furious

      I rented a car from Dollar for two days, and paid for that rental in advance. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I returned the car 18 hours late, or basically a full day. Instead of charging me for one extra day's use of the vehicle, Dollar "refunded" the two days I had paid in advance, at $49 per day, and charged me $150 per day for the three days that I used the vehicle! I will never rent from such an underhanded and deceptive company again.
