      They engage in deceptive and unfair business practices. We reserved a car at the Tampa airport for 10 days at about $47/day. Because of a change in our plans, I tried to shorten the reservation to four days. I first tried to call them but couldn’t reach a human. I tried to change it online, and that was impossible. When we got to the airport, I asked the clerk if I could change it and he said no. I asked him what would happen if I returned it early and he said they would prorate it based on the days used. That’s what I decided to do so I signed the agreement. We were supposed to get a small SUV at 2:00 but there was a line of people waiting because they had oversold their inventory. Finally, after 3:00 they offered us a minivan so we accepted that. We returned the car four days later. They had no one we could talk to to confirm what we were doing. Four hours later I received a receipt showing we returned the van, but instead of $47/day we were charged over $100 per day plus all the fees. I have made multiple efforts to resolve this with them directly but they won’t do anything. On top of that, when I forgot to fill up the fuel tank before we returned it , instead of the $3.35/gallon market rate for gas, they charged us $11/gallon. They have no interest in satisfying the customer or having repeat business.

      I rented a car from *********** in early Sept 2023, one day car rental. Before I left the rental plaza, I noticed front passenger wheel scratched due to previous renters curbing the wheel/tire. I flagged down the lot attendant to note the damage. She also caught a windshield chip and noted it on the customer damage inspection form (Kudos to lot attendant!). Three weeks hence, I get a demand letter from a debt collector, charging me for $163.36 for the windshield chip (Physical damage $75.00/Loss of use $38.36/Administrative fee $50.00). Needless to say, I am disputing this charge, since I have photos of the car before I rented and the customer damage inspection I received before I left the rental plaza. -2 stars for Dollar/3 stars for the lot attendant.

      DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE. They scam you in front of your nose. After a flight of 11 hours and TWO HOURS of waiting in front of the Dollar desk, they have scammed us. Women behind the desk “only” needed our signature for the deposit. Well okay, we thought. Nothing was explained. We drove away with our car and after checking our creditcard after a few days we were SHOCKED. They have added a premium road service we NEVER AGREED TO. We tried to call immediately but they are NOT reachable. After calling for 2 hours (!!) a women picked up and she was everything but helpfull. Even moody and saying we had to fill in a complaint form. We did so but the form was out of service. Such a bad and scammy company scamming travelers while they are EXHAUSTED. Shame on you.

      This is the worst company I ever dealt with in my life. I brought the car back sold and theyre charging me $113 for fuel they saw the car came back full. I told the gentleman but they still charge it. He wait in line for 2 1/2 hours to rent a car. He added a whole bunch of other stuff on the contract. They didnt tell me I will never ever rent a car from Dollar again Very careful when you rent cars for this place they make you wait in line and youre exhausted and fed up and they ***** you unbelievable $1100 for a car for four days.

      I rented a vehicle with this Dollar Rental Car location and got pushed to accept a large SUV when I rented a compact. I refused so waited until a car finally became available that wasn't a large vehicle (I ended up with a sedan). During the first day of driving the remote's battery had trouble working, we presumed from the battery. I was concerned about the remote might stop working and leave us stranded without getting into the car or starting it (there was no physical key, nor did the car have a slot/hole for a key). After spending time on the phone with customer support, I could either return the car or get roadside assistance. Since we were hours away from the airport, we opted for neither and replaced the battery at our own cost. We were told to have mention it up return to get reimbursed. We replaced the battery, which corrected the issue. Upon return of the car, we mentioned it and it was written up on the car. We were told it would be taken off the final charges. Obviously, I'm here writing that there was no reimbursement of our out of pocket charges. The renter should not need to take their own time and money to do basic maintenance of the rented vehicle to keep it operational. Despite being told that I'd be reimbursed for these charges, I haven't been. It's just a remote's battery but it is required to get access into the car and start the ignition.

      Dollar rental car made me late to a wedding. I was flying into town and had plenty of time from when flight landed to make the wedding. Turns out Dollar rental was here to ***** that up. They did not have any vehicles in the class I had rented within 2 hours of my rental time. What did they do? Literally nothing. Their staff was incompetent. They had plenty of rental cars in other classes and instead of making it right by getting me in a car to meet my timeline because they could not honor the request, they were unwilling to waive a rental fee. Their position: you should miss your wedding event and wait for 2 hours for us. Any sane customer service oriented company would have said we don't have a car in your class, here's another one no charge. Not Dollar. They said you can only have a an upgrade if you pay for it. I needed to make my once in a lifetime event so I had really no other option than to move forward and attempt to deal with them after my wedding events.DO NOT RENT with them. They are an awful company with no consideration for customers. They penalize customers FOR THEIR FAILURES to provide vehicles.

      Terrible company. Terrible customer service over phone, cant get same answer twice about late pick up times and how long they hold a reservation. Bait and switch, trying to force electric vehicle or pay for upgraded vehicle. They gave us an ez pass that didnt work. Desk people are trained to repeat canned answers. **** admitted to over booking several parties. Dont rent, it will cost you a lot more than you expected or advertised.

      BEWARE DO NOT GO HERE- as you see from other reviews this place is an absolute horrific place. I made a reservation weeks before my trip and arrived at the airport to get in line behind about 5 other parties at around 12 AM, including a family with a small child. After the line not moving for about 30 minutes, the man behind the counter comes up to us in the line and asks if we made reservations before that day. We all stated we had reservations for a while and he then proceeds to shrug his shoulders, say "well- we don't have any cars" to everyone waiting and then goes back behind the counter with no further communication. There were no apologies, no stating we'd get a refund, no attempting to find us a car. Absolutely NO communication for the better part of an hour in the middle of the night- just to still not have a car to rent. I had to take a $60 uber to a friend's place and make alternate arrangements for the rest of my trip because I couldn't stomach going back there. "They can MAKE a reservation, they just cant HOLD the reservation." - *************************** To the employee who looks like ******* from the office-- you're awful. I feel sorry for you that because your job ***** so terribly, you have to be such a miserable human. I feel bad for the girl you were working with.STAY AWAY FROM DOLLAR CAR RENTAL AT PIT
