      I made reservations to rent a gas powered car at ************************************* in January for my trip in April. When I arrived at Dollar Car Rental, they did not have ANY gas powered cars and would not have any for 4-5 hours. The only car they had for me to rent was an electric car which I did not want and this car was $50 MORE per day than what I was quoted and ready to pay. I took this trip on a budget and knew what I was allowed to spend, an extra $150 was not included in this. I was very disappointed but felt I had no choice but to rent it as I could not sit in the airport for at least 4-5 hours waiting for a car. Also, the car did NOT have a full charge, it was only at 70% and it should have been 100% charged, so I really had to watch how much I drove it as they did not show me how to charge this car. I have reached out to customer service only to be told they were sorry for my inconvenience in this matter. That does not work for me, I feel they should reimburse me the $150 that I had to spend to rent this car.

      Rented a car while traveling to ************* for the weekend. Rented car in *************************************, returned it filled with gas and 2 days later was charged $115 for gas. You cannot dispute the charge over the phone with them. Have to mail receipt to get my money back. Attribute it to incompetence which reigns supreme in the car rental industry. Had a similar experience with Budget and never got my money back. That's now two companies I'll never rent from again.

      This is the most unprofessional company Ive ever dealt with. They charge you extra fees and wont explain to you why. I rented a car w/ them for a total of 2 days because by the time my flight landed and i had to wait in their ridiculous long line i paid 400 dollars. They charge you 10 dollars per gallon for gas and DO NOT explain that to you before you get the car. I tried to call customer service to ask for a break down and she gave me a hard time and would not let me speak with someone higher up. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. And i truly dont know how theyre still in business because its a complete rip off if you ask me. 0 stars!

      Beware of extra charges! I declines the extra insurance and road service when I rented the car. After I returned it, I got charged and additional $228.83 for these services that I did not request. I called and they said they would refund that back to me. I will not be using them again because of this. If you have to cheat people, you should not be in business.

      This rental car agency is a scam - I reserved an economy car for 2 days at JFK. First, the line was long as they didnt have cars ready for customers. Second, the agent said I reserved the managers special which is a 14 seater van. Why would this be a managers special - in addition, I had to pay and additional $19 (for a smaller vehicle) plus another $9 for insurance. My balance that I should have paid for the car should have been $49 instead Im paying $123 over 50% mark up. This company is not getting my business ever again.

      i was blatantly ROBBED on my rental this past week down in new orleans. while the customer service rep has responded with a sorry for the confusion msg in response to my written complaint, there are eerie similarities between what happened to me and what i am reading here has happened to others. this business is engaging in a serious pattern of deception, i am sure of it. i will be lodging a complaint of fraud also with my credit card company. whatever you do, do NOT trust dollar car. period.

      This company charged numerous hidden fees that I initially turned down. The business practices here are shady at best and potentially illegal. All the hidden fees cost me nearly $900. I will never do business with them again. While the onus is on me for this one, these less than honest practices are disgusting. Highly suggest using a different rental company for anyone reading this.

      Dollar intentionally tricked me into agreeing for insurance protection coverage that they knew that I did not want. The details are as follows. I rented a car from Dollar at PHX airport, pick up on April 22, 2023 and drop off on April 24, 2023. I had booked and partially prepaid through Priceline. When I picked up the car, the desk agent said “Do you want standard or premium coverage?” I looked at him quizzically and then asked him to clarify what he meant. I asked “Are those my only two options?” He said “Yes.” (That was false: “zero coverage” was an option and he lied to me.) I said I wanted the least, cheapest option. (The least, cheapest option would obviously be ‘zero’ coverage.) I was not given anything on paper to review, I did not get anything on paper at all, I was not told there would be any additional charge over and above what I had already agreed via the Priceline booking, even if I knew there would be an additional charge I was not told *how much* that charge would be, and the only thing I signed was the electronic keypad that provided zero information. When I checked back in two days later when I dropped off the car, I received no receipt of any kind (not even over email). I was charged $116 extra for the additional coverage. I knew about the charge only because I saw it on my credit card two days later. I knew about the alleged reason for the charge only because I called Dollar customer service. I still have not – days later – received any receipt. The customer service representative said that I would get refunded for the bogus overcharge, but that still has not happened, and she refused to give me any form of written confirmation that I would eventually get refunded. In sum, Dollar intentionally tricked me into paying extra for coverage, they provided no information of any sort about it either before or after the trick, and they have been slow to fix the problem (and I can only hope that they will in fact refund me eventually).

      They overcharged me by almost $1k, tried to say that we were late returning it even though we were waiting in line for them to check us out. The customer service is horrible and they try to rip people off.

      Very bad place to buy a car I warned u don't buy a car from there I bought a 2014 ****** rogue first and the ac didn't work had it for 2 days the transmission went out took it back took 2weeks saying that is not fixable Sotheby's traded for 2014 chevrolet malibu ls and been having engine problem they took it for 2 weeks saying the Throttle body was bad they fix it but then 5 day that same code came up the throttle body bad ..I went up there they said there nothing they can do seens is pass 30day ..NEVER BUY FORM THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN ..NO I GOT A CAR THAT NOT WORKING ..HAVE 2 KIDS AND HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO FIX IT
