1 starWhen I got to the car rental counter, no one from Dollar was there, there was a sign to talk to the person at Thrifty (all owned by Hertz of course). That person was observed lying and provoking customers. He told customers (different responses for different people) there were no cars, that their car was being washed even though they had been waiting 3hrs, and to me, I was told I would need to wait 1.5hrs, a customer next to me told the same thing waited more than double that time. This representative made sexist comments to my wife, lied to her, lied to me, and ultimately, I was so disgusted, I left (along with my 2 small children) and got in a cab and rented a car a few miles away, where remarkably, there were many cars ready.Review fromAndrea T

1 starIf I could give zero stars, I would. We rented a car through your *** location. When I got there to pick it up, I was waited on by a girl by the name of ******. I was told I needed a credit card with my name on it and it would be a total of ******. $200 deposit and $148 fees and taxes ( which were supposed to be included already). She told me it all had to be paid with one card. I told her I could do the 300 on a credit card then ***** on my debit card. She instantly got RUDE with me. Rolling her eyes and talking VERY condescending. She told me there was nothing more she could do for me. I explained that my husband had a credit card with the full amount on it and I could use his card. She looked at me, rolled her eyes, and tried to go to the next person. THEN my husband (who happens to be African American) (I am Caucasian) walked in. He went to talk to her and she says, "hold on, let me see what I can do" AND GOES AND GETS THE MANAGER!! Manager comes out and she greets him with "hello Gorgeous). When I asked her if there was anyone I could talk to, she told me everyone there will tell me the same thing. Anyhow, she walks us out to the parking lot and says this is my favorite. I take it, she doesn't do any walk arounds, gives me the key and goes back inside. I get home with the car (it was dark by then) and I noticed the car is FILTHY! Empty candy wrappers in the back trunk, a child's watch in the floor, a CHEWED UP PIECE OF GUM in the cup holder, and a full size Kit Kat bar is what I remember off the top of my head. This was the ABSOLUTE worst customer service I have ever had with any company. I will NEVER use this company again and after the way ****** spoke to my travel agent on the phone, neither will she. You have lost out on MANY customers from her being a Travel Agent and myself on ************* Do better Dollar!!!!! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNFORGIVABLE. The way I was treated was like a third class citizen. I refuse to let this go.Review fromJack M

1 starWaited over 2-hours in line at 7pm on a Thursday. There were 300 people in line and 3-employees working. All the other rental cars places were sold out. We also had reservations and they made us wait in the line instead of checking in outside, where they had many employees just standing around. Terrible management at this location!!!Review fromJoseph M

1 starDollar Car Rental Orlando International Airport, April 8, 2023, 7.30-9.30 p.m. Very horrible service. Not Recommended. Stay clear of them for peace of mind and service. I am very disappointed with the service at the Dollar Rental Car office at Orlando International Airport yesterday, April 8, 2023. In fact, I am very angry like many of the customers who waited for service to get a rental car. I waited about two hours before I was served. At first, there were eight persons manning the desks for Dollar and Thrifty. These staff regularly left the desks for breaks presumably around every fifteen minutes. At one stage we were left with no one at the desks for ten minutes. Then one returned and after another fifteen minutes, two others joined him Later four persons managed the desk at the time I was served. The person who served me insisted that I take out comprehensive insurance for the vehicle and only gave in to my refusal when I told him that VIP Cars had assured me that I could use my own insurance, and asked him to call VIP Cars whom I had already paid for the car. I am kindly asking that you look into the lack of efficiency, customer care, and good manners this company shows and save future customers from having to go through this turmoil and ordeal. In the future, I will refuse any reservation that proposes Dollar. They definitely need to clean up their customer service and their act in general. Turning their backs on tired travelers and having them wait in line for hours is nothing but disdain and insult. They don't need to have patrons. Joseph MahaseReview fromNicole W

1 starThis is now the 2nd time I have had to rent a car and pay out of pocket when it could have been free with my reward points. The past 2 times I rented, I had to wait 5+ hours for a car, and they have yet to apply my points from either of those visits. I have spent thousands of dollars with Dollar Rental car over the years, and the fact that this is how they treat their "loyalty" customers is terrible. They are shady and this is equivalent to theft because if I would have rented with another company and signed up for their loyalty program, I would have not had to pay for at least one of my recent rentals. I am moving all business from Dollar / Thrifty / Hertz family. I hope for whatever reason you have not added my points and ignored my communications is worth it. I will be sure to warn others of my experience.Review fromEduardo J

1 starSimilar to ************: I was totally lied to. Told I had a balance left from Expedia, charged $266. Got home, I realized that I did NOT have a balance. They sold me insurance. I told them NO to insurance a few times. Told them I had travel insurance. Told them that I don't want anything short of paying the remaining balance. They told me the $266 was the BALANCE and charged insurance instead. Refused to give money back when I called. Now I have my credit card company fighting them. Bunch of bald face lying unethical people. Karma will come their way and they will get jacked in life will bills with practices like these. I can't imagine doing that to people. Literally lied to my face about this being a balance and sold me insurance.Review fromSara M

1 starUpon arrival we were given a row of cars to choose from. The first one we got in, the key fob didnt work so the vehicle wouldnt turn on. We unloaded our stuff from the back and went to the next car, opened the trunk, and found it with a full cop of coffee spilled across the back. Third vehicle was the winner. On the second day with the vehicle, after it had rained all night, we were only a few minutes down the road and the passenger side got doused with water (with a passenger sitting there) from the area of the rear view mirror. It then continued to leak for several more miles. When we dropped the vehicle off and were asked did everything go ok, I told the staff member about the leak, so that another person renting wouldnt also experience the same thing. It was written on the window and they thanked us profusely.Later that week we received an email that a crack had been found in the windshield and we needed to fill out an accident report. When we told them that an accident never occurred, we got the vehicle like that and were the ones to make the staff aware, they told us it was still our responsibility to fill out a report. We asked for pictures and what they sent was not clear and did not show a crack, but they had no other photos to share. The vehicles to choose from had torn carpets and a strange smell. Then when an issue was found and they were made aware of it, we were directed to file a report taking responsibility for it.We will never be renting from Dollar Rental again.Review fromMaureen S

1 starIn March after prepaying for our car in Feb thru travelocity , we went to pick up our car. Only to be told they over booked and would not have a car available for us for 5 hours. Told us they would call us. I asked what were they going to do for us for the inconvenience. I was told since we prepaid there wasn't anything they coul do. I asked to speak to a manager, I was told he was busy helping cleaning cars. So we had to find another way to get to our airbnb. Of course the only phone number available nobody answered the phone. Called Travelocity and was told we can't help you...no one called. So we showed up the next day and they tried to give us a run around again. I demanded to speak with a manager. Told I needed to go down were you pick up the cars. They said you will be moved to the front of the line..lol after 3 people ahead of me were taken care of then I was helped. Explained everything to the manager and was told we still don't have a car available, but I can rent you a gmc terrains. OK fine. When I asked about credit for day without vehicle and collision ins I was told it's the same price for 7 days or 10 days. Oh by the way he said I don't see any ******** ins. By this time all I could say is please give me the Keys. Every time I tried to contact dollar company and the attorney General I kept hitting dead ends. NEVER AGAIN will Travelocity or dollar car rental get my business.Review fromShadé D

1 starThee worst rental Ive ever experienced. I arrived to ************ *********** to wait over 2 hours for the rental. I was charged over $700 for the ****** plus $200 deposit. All of which she couldnt break down where the additional $300fees were coming from. I was traveling with 5 kids and they were very tired and hungry. If you can rent anywhere else just pay the extra for a place that gives you an outline of the fees and deposit up front. As well as better customer service. There was no reason for the wait time. The employees clearly did not want to work in the office as well as on the lot. Absolutely horrible that this company is not shut down by now. I hope their employees gets the same treatment they give to the customers. Sorry *** company.
