We prepaid for a car in ***********************. When we arrived we were informed that there would be a 2 hour wait for the car. There were at least 20 people in line in back of us and no one waiting at any other rental agency. There was one employee working the counter and he did not make any announcement to the waiting customers that there would be a 2 hour wait for their cars. This was a bait and switch if there ever was one. Dollar should be ashamed.

I booked flight car and hotel through Expedia. When I booked online for the car I had paid for insurance. I get to Dollar to pick up my car and give them my info and I assume that my entire itinerary is there. I'm asked in person if I want insurance coverage. I accept and sign. Later come to find out I surely did pay for insurance coverage online. So why was I asked again for what I already purchased? They booked me twice, got paid twice and both Dollar and Expedia says there's nothing I can do about it. I don't understand if my itinerary is in your face why am I being asked what I want to pay for. Never again will I book Dollar. Maybe even Expedia. They didn't get over on me. They got over on themselves. For a measley 162 dollars. Hahaha idiots

I rented from them and they charged me ****** additional to the ****** rental charge saying the vehicle had to be detailed for smoke! Never smoked in the car. I don't smoke and call them and the guy said there is nothing they can do. I am fighting it with the credit card company on my side. They are truly scammers for sure!!!Never again!!

They charge "admin" fees to transactions after returning the vehicle and everything being settled. If there is an issue with the payment for these "admin" fees which they send out weeks later, they send it to a collections agency which pursues you for debt collection months after. The only way to stop the collections agency is to pay these fraudulent fees they charge you.

This case is regarding confirmation number For the location **** ******* at *************** location at hertz. This is total ******** that ***** gave us a faulty car 2019 buick encore . While we were driving from ******************** thru *******, ********** our buick showed signs in the dashboard showing "engine overheating/ idle engine" twice during a 30 minutes span. We did had it for only two days on our trip and this car decided to overheat and had to call hertz roadside service to get the car towed off the freeway 680. We were parked on the freeway and told to leave the car there while the tow truck came to pick it up we have been on the phone with ***** ERS and customer service regarding this case. They kept telling us to call different departments and beat around the **** to no results. All we want is our full refund for this car rental of $213 for the inconvenience and danger that we have encountered along with the faulty of the car that we were rented out to. Such a disaster and danger on hertz car rental for them to not get this engine issue resolved prior to renting it out to us. We demand our full refund and compensation of the trouble that we had to face during our vacation in *******.

BBB, how does a company with all of these terrible reviews score an A+ on your site? Do you not read the reviews posted??? SHAME ON YOU Dollar Rental!!! Flew into ATL, had a paid for reservation weeks before, line was at least 50 people deep. People were upset, the Dollar rep was screaming to the crowd that once you got to the front of the line (which clearly was going to be hours) then it world be a minimum of an hour and a half wait (if they even still had cars). Crappiest service I've encountered in my 50 years. Ended up having to Uber everywhere since no other rental agencies had cars. One shady local business was going to charge 175.00 a day for a basic car. The rental places were all handing their cards out after stating they didn't have any cars. It felt like some kind of racket where the dealerships were getting a cut of their business after screwing the customer on the price since the place wanted to know the name of the person that referred them. HOW ON EARTH DO YOU STAY IN BUSINESS, DOLLAR? Be warned that you can pay for a car with Dollar and they may not have it-especially if you go to Atlanta.

I prepaid for 5 days through travelocity at the Fort Lauderdale airport for thanksgiving weekend. We arrived on time but they informed us and multiple others that there were no cars and would be at least 3-4 hours if anything came in. It cost an extra $200 at another agency to get a car right away. After calling to cancel and get my money back which they only have overseas agents during business hours, and automated after. They said they couldnt do anything and after asking for a supervisor they hung up on me. Never again.

It was a pleasant experience until I got a fuel bill. The desk clerk pointed to the sign $3.49 /gal when offering fuel filling. I went 111 mi in economy car 1/2 tank of gas to fill. The bill $84. Outrageous!! I have never been so ripped off. I certainly would of gone to a gas station and paid approx. $20.The # is arbitrary. I called they cannot tell me how much gas was placed into the vehicle.

I honestly cannot believe how much of a nightmare dealing with this company has been. Booking online with my Australian debit card was very easy and issue free, but when I arrived at the airport to pick up the vehicle I was told that I cannot hire the car as I do not have an American credit card. This was never once mentioned online, only in person after they’d already taken $600 off me. They offered no solution and advised me they could not give me back my money. They also said this happens all the time and I saw another person at the counter next to me with the same issue. Luckily I had a friend with an American credit card who kindly offered to let me use, but this came with hundreds of dollars of additional fees, resulting in a rental that was more than double what I expected to pay when I booked it. When I returned the vehicle, the $200 deposit was never released despite Dollar claiming it had been, and to add insult to injury they mailed an additional $50 bill 2 weeks later, claiming that I hadn’t paid the full amount at the time of rental. When I tried to inquire about this, I was repeatedly told it was my fault for not paying in full (even though I had never previously been advised of this extra $50 fee) and that I was expected to pay the $50 even though they still hadn’t released my $200 deposit. At this point they are stealing my money and asking for more. Also, trying to call Dollar/Hertz to discuss these issues is a nightmare in itself, it’s almost impossible to get through to talk to someone, you just spend minutes upon minutes going around in circles choosing options which lead to new automated messages and eventually to nowhere. I honestly believe this company intentionally makes it difficult to contact them in an attempt to just wear you down to the point that you just cannot be bothered trying to get your rightful money back. Safe to say I cannot discourage you enough from renting through Dollar, truly horrendous.
