The worst car rental i've ever dealt with. I had to drop the car off in Raleigh NC. due to an emergency at home. so i took the first flight that i could get and called Dollar car rental to let them know of my emergency and that i would be dropping the car off at the Raleigh airport instead of the Charlotte airport in NC. Once i arrived at the airport i went into the Dollar rental counter and was instructed to pull it forward and leave the keys in it because i needed to catch the shuttle to take me to the terminals where i would catch my flight. I was rushing to get to the gate where my flight was. So i went a head and pulled the car forward and a worker came and checked to see if i left the keys which i did. so i got on the shuttle and rushed to my gate for my departure. I had my 7yr old niece with me for the flight back. We finally got on our flight and was headed back home. Once i arrived home i realized my credit card had been charged 408.00 dollars i requested a receipt from Dollar car rental. When I got the receipt i called right away because the 408.00 was for damages. There were no damages so when i got through to a I've person she said it was from smoking in the car, i was furious and said no one smoked in that car i had my 7yr old niece traveling with me and its illegal to smoke in a car with a minor in it so there's no way anyone smoked in that car that was a way of Dollar rental trying to get me for something that never happened. The customer service that i spoke with said that they couldn't refund me the 400 until i paid the balance that was 136.00 I said my total rental amount was 136.64 and i paid 103.69 when i reserved the car online and had a balance of 32.96 due at pick up. So how can i have a balance of 136.00 owed. No one had any answers other than that was the balance after the chargers of smoking were put on my bill. Had i been able to wait and be there to check the car in they would have never charged me those false charges.

These people are crooks. They advertise one price, get you in then charge you more for everything by asking questions that sound nothing like their adding things to your rental. Example: do you know about the tolls? They then charged 168.00 for tolls we never used. Then, when you do find out they have charged you more for everything,(we paid over 2x the amount listed on orbitz) and you ask them for a refund, they refuse and back their employees. These people should not be trusted. They’re a bunch of jive talking crooks. Do not do business with them

First time In Denver . Getting the car no problem . Was involved in a hit and run. Not my fault . Came back out to the car and the back window is smashed and big dent in tailgate . Get the car back to hotel . It being a Saturday I had to get ahold of my insurance agent . They advised me to make a police report .so I did that . I contacted the dollar rental company .they sent out a tow truck . The tow driver states that they do a tow exchange and he’s asking my why he didn’t. Bring me a car ?? . So I call again they denied bringing one out to me . They said they would provide a Lyft . Closest rental is back at the airport almost a hour away , so I wait till next. Morning, once again ask for them to deliver a car they should honor there word. They said no . They would however send a Lyft I had to wait for another hour to show up . Total ride amount is $141 , then I was informed they only pay $50 . So I’ve lost a day and a half . Didn’t get a car brought to me and had to pay $90 for my own ride to get another car . But of course they have my credit card and have paid in advance. Still arguing about being reimbursed. I didn’t ask to get hit. This place is complete BS. I will be disputing with my credit card as well .

RENTERS BEWARE!!! They use a fuel lock in price program and sell it as a GREAT benefit, but if you don't use the full tank of gas it is a rip off. We paid over $200 for this benefit and only drove 94 miles. They don't tell you that you are paying for a full tank, they imply that there will be an adjustment at the end of the rental period. Don't use this company. They are using fraudulent practices.

They deserve zero stars. Scammers. We were charged for tolls when we never drove on toll roads. They even tried to charge us for a toll hundreds of miles away from where we were that the mileage on the car itself easily disputed this. We provided receipts showing we were nowhere near there. We received a bill in the mail, and even though the toll charges were bogus, they charged our credit card that we rented the car with. Our credit card company said they had the charges set up as recurring. These are fraudulent charges. What a bunch of unethical, unscrupulous people. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.

We rented a car out of ********* and prepaid for a mid-size vehicle with Dollar Car Rental for the first time with this company. When we arrived at the airport, the customer service agent told me the reservation showed us reserving the compact and I could upgrade for an additional $100 to the mid-size (I declined). She then told me that the additional insurance coverage was REQUIRED with their company and I had to select either the standard or upgrade insurance package. I was forced to select the cheapest standard package for $400 (which was more than the car rental). This was a LIE, the customer service department now confirmed the coverage was optional and not required. No refunds were offered because they claim I accepted the terms. Poor tactics used by the customer service agent to force customers to pay for the additional coverage at ridiculous prices.STAY AWAY!! THERE ARE A LOT OF BETTER COMPANIES!

If I could give negative star review I would. I arrived at the counter and received 3 different stories as to why I had to wait for 2 hours to get a car I had reserved a month earlier. First it was due to accidents then because of hurricane Ian then I was told that the company overbooked reservations. I was told I could wait at the airport or go to my hotel and would be called when my car was ready. I completed the rental paperwork and went to my hotel. At 9 the next morning I called them and was told my car was ready. When I got to the airport they could not find my paperwork. Do not rent from this company there are plenty of better options. ****** ******

Very deceptive. I rented a car in Boston, declined the all inclusive toll option, and encountered the Ted Williams toll, which USED TO BE one way only and had the option to pay cash (which I always did with rentals). No cash option anymore and Dollar tried to charge me the unlimited Daily Toll Rate of $64. Tolls is $2.95 for the license plate rate, cheaper with transponder, but no they tried to charge me the full daily rate! They did "negotiate" down to $25.88 (cost of both tolls plus $9.99 fee per toll) if I opted out of their all-inclusive option FOREVER! Ofcourse when I did NOT chose the toll option at the counter there was no mention on the Ted Williams toll being a given if you head south and that there is no cash option anymore. What a joke, I opted out after the fact as I will never use them again.

DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. Absolutely awful. It's 100% worth it to pay extra for a reliable company, I promise you that. Showed up to ******* and they wouldn't give us a rental car because we didn't have an international driver's license... but we're US citizens with US drivers licenses. They tried to then change our booking so we we're "eligible to rent" and it increased the price $700. Save your time, money and effort. Worst rental company out there.
