Never again. Shameful how Dollar calls themselves a business. CEO Gary P. is obligated to do better.

Scammers! I rented a car Under a managers special rate, getting whatever car is available. I have done this in the past with other companies and got a fine little compact car. Whatever. Im not picky. But when I arrived, they said all they had available was a Minivan but for $100 more I could get a car that gets better gas mileage. My $200 car rental cost $800 by the time they were finished gouging me. Never again.

I rented a car and drove from the New York State line to Springfield, MA in early September, and drove back a few days later. The total cost of the tolls was $9.43, but they charged me $75 in administrative fees, plus the $9.43. Not a happy customer.

Wish I could give this company 0 stars. The sales rep at the Ft Lauderdale Airport location charged me for insurances after I told him I already had rental insurance and only wanted what our rewards points (3rd party) covered. He had me sign the agreement before explaining the extra charges and walked away before I had a chance to ask questions. When I contacted the company after my trip, I was told that since I signed the agreement, there was nothing they could offer me. She also told me they are getting several calls about this type of overcharging. I paid over 46,000 in points and was also charged $236. The trunk never worked in our car either.

Booked a rental for a six passenger suv on price line for 300 for 4 day and expected to pay taxes etc. when we got to the counter. When we got there they told me that we would not fit 6 people into the vehicle they had but could upgrade me for a discount of 100 a night which was regularly 250. We were in a hurry and I did not do my research due to being late for family event after a death. They ended up charging me 550 dollars more and said that the 300 was applied to it. When I got to the hotel I checked their website and the entire booking for the same vehicle was 440 including all of the extra fees. I emailed the company with no response. 850 for a rental that should of cost 440. Must have been price gouging due to Hurricane Ian. Worst company I have ever dealt with, worst lack of customer service, and all around garbage company. Best advice is go with a different company.

I was traveling with a 6 year old child. We arrived to *** rental car center right on time. For 4 hours we were in line and waiting that someone from the front desk will tell us why the line was not moving and no one was getting processed. At midnight some person at the Dollar Car rental finally decided to make an announcement that no cars are available and please come back at 5 am . That happened at midnight. On my question what are the guarantees that they will have a car he said there is none. So at that point my daughter and i decided to take a taxi and paid over $100 for one way trip. Just a note that I had a reservation and my reservation was paid off. what a great business model they have at Dollar Car rental at ATL. Please for a future customers FIND ANY OTHER RENTAL CAR COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!

I arrived from Miami airport on the 2nd of October at 6 am after a tiring 10 hours of flying and I had a reservation made at Thrifty to pick up my rental car. Thrifty was closed and there was a sign telling you to go to the dollar counter. I got there and there were 2 men, Carlos and Felipe. I said good morning and neither of them answered me. i said i had a reservation and they very rudely replied that i would have to wait. they didn't tell me the reason and no other words. they were extremely rude. I asked why they said they didn't have a car. i asked how long i would have to wait and they said chuckling 3 hours or so. I said that I had made the reservation and I didn't understand if they didn't have cars because they accepted my reservation. they said again that if i wanted to i would have to wait 3 hours or more. I was treated like garbage. I went to Sixt, I was super well attended and I rented a car. I travel to the USA for work at least 2 times a month and I will never rent a car with either Dollar or Thrifty again. I have never been so humiliated in all my life

I prepaid upfront to Priceline $395.00 for a midsize vehicle for three days. Dollar sent me an invoice said I owe them $221.00 more dollar lying and claiming an upgrade, liability insurance, concession fees, taxes all lies I prepaid all of that through Priceline and I have my own car rental insurance on my personal policy. I rented the car on July 1 didnt pick it up until July 2 due to flight delay that night got to ******* and the rental company was closed. Had to wait until the next morning to get an Uber to take me back to airport to pick up a rental. No Uber, no lifts runs after midnight. Now dollar wants to charge me fees for picking up car a day late. Wont refund my money and told me now to contact Priceline. But dollar is sending me an invoice. Worst customer service, Im contacting Priceline!

Similar to most of the complains, Dollar rental car has a lot of hidden fees, we prepaid the entire rental price. While we are picking up the car, certainly they asked for Driver's License and credit card for so call "deposit"... We tried our best to on toll and fuel. Still gotten a bill for concession fee, vehicle license fee, customer facility charge and 10% tax, yet the total billed amount was $158.66, 10% tax is $56.13. By spoken to the customer service, all fees were the reminding balance as what not been charged in my prepaid amount which was charged by they named "3rd Party Vendor".As most of the consumer, we search online to look for the most affordable rental price and agree with what we paid in full as listed on the "3rd party vendor" site. If there is additional/hidden fees, that is not what we agree to pay.The customer representative of ******************** stated it is "It is the third parties' responsibility to provide clear explanations" and asked us to contact the 3rd party vendor, well.... shouldn't that be Dollar rental car's responsibility to reconcile with their 3rd party vendor???? instead suffering individual consumers? Vice versa, If our paid rental more that what it cost, will Dollar rental car send us the additional amount? Will never use them again.
