      The lady at the counter told me that there was a sale on a specific car type for half of the 90.31/day. When I received the final receipt I found it was the 90.31/day and an additional 50/day. There was no mention of an upgrade, just communicated that it was half off. Very deceptive sales tactic where now I have to explain to my company why there is an upgrade fee. This happened at LAX. When I contacted customer service, they were not willing to honor the mistake. I was not trying to argue about the already very expensive rental, just asking them to honor the deception and they were not willing to do so. I will never rent from Dollar again and will spread the word to be careful to others. The rental, 4 days $694.84.

      SCAMMERS!!!! I RENTED A CAR FOR ****** AND THEY CHARGED ME ******. THEY ALSO PUT A ****** HOLD ON MY CREDIT CARD. THEY ARE A TERRIBLE COMPANY.

      HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! Rented car from Dollar at St Louis airport. 1st car passenger wheel plastic loose and rubbing against tire making noise. Told them and exchanged it for another car. While getting the other car Dollar re-rented the car I had returned!! And they didn’t sanitize it first. 4 days into rental the tire pressure light of second car came on. Took it to Firestone who showed me the plastic in the drivers side wheel well had come loose and rubbed against the tire until it was shredded and wore a 3 inch strip down to the belt. Called Dollar who told me to replace it and they will reimburse me. Said they don’t have contracts with any company’s to fix cars and acted like I was being unreasonable to expect them to do something. Obviously Dollar is not checking their cars before renting them. GO ELSEWHERE.

      I booked and paid for a rental and damage waiver on travelocity. Upon arriving, the lady did not speak fluent English, and was clearly not trained how to do her job. after having 5 times longer then anyone else at the counter, I finally got my rental. unfortunately, the lady mistook "I already paid for the damage waiver online" for " I want you to charge me another $600 dollars for a different waiver". Dollar's customer service 1-800 number was unable and un willing to correct the lady's mistake. Because of Dollars complete lack of customer service, this has now escalated into a dispute with my credit card company. I normally use Enterprise, but decided to try Dollar this time because they were cheaper. thanks Dollar, you have made me an Enterprise customer for life.

      I strongly urge persons to deter from using Dollar as a rental car option! In September of 2022, I would have booked a vehicle for pick up in AUS and selected my drop off option as MSY. I completely understand that the car was dropped off a couple minutes after the grace period, which incurred an additional fee, however, this transaction was not completed ONLINE where there was little interaction and a larger room for error! This transaction took place with one of your CSR's at the MSY location. Upon returning the vehicle, the CSR quoted a figure above $600.00 which was a surprise to me, as my original bill was approximately $450.00. I asked the representative and she agreed with me, that it was an error and she proceeded to fix it. Upon settling my bill, I asked for the final figure and the total was $482.53. I asked for my bill to be e-mailed to me and it was this morning and to my surprise I was charged $621.22! Please understand that I have no issue settling my bill that I owe, regardless of the cost, however, charging me additional fees without my knowledge is completely unacceptable. I called the customer service line and the CSR there was also of no use! I explained my issues with my bill and my issues were completely ignored. I urge everyone to please desist from using Dollar as a means for vehicle rental! They are not upfront about there charges and charge you blindly!

      Financed a car through auto maxx on august 11th Got home with car car wouldnt start so they picked it up next day fixed the electrical problem then on the 9th the car went out again been calling everyday was told they were gonna pick it up each in every time only to open my door in see the car still stuck in cant be moved . The car note was due on the 16th I called to see if they can push the note back until the car was picked up in being fixed they told me no now Im stuck without a car in out of work .. at this point just give me all my money back

      I stopped renting from Dollar 12 years ago because they charged me "surprise charges" which turned out to be fraudulent. I flew into Buffalo where they were my only choice for dropping the car in Philadelphia. I aked for the toll pass option but they showed it on my receipt as a "ski rack". Their "sub-company" that bills tolls then charged me for tolls on top of that for $150 that should have been covered. When I called dollar they said they couldn't help me and I had to call the toll company. I had to file a "fraud complaint" with my credit company to get relief. Same dishonesty 12 years later. Please don't ever rent from Dollar.

      The lack of customer response is terrible at best. I have been aiming to get a simple itemized receipt from Dollar Car Rental for a trip I had in early September. I have filled two separate requests at the website for a receipt, but nothing in return. There are NO excuses acceptable to me right now. None.

      Worst car renting experience ever. Staff was argumentative. The rental was paid in advance online, but they charged a $500 deposit at the counter. They took my driver license and lost it. WORST. EXPERIENCE. EVER.!!! Never again will I rent from Dollar Car Rental.

      I strongly urge travelers NOT to use Dollar. I made my reservation online in February. I was quoted $545.00 if paid up front. When I got to Atlanta last Friday morning there were at least 80 people on line in front of me. I waited for over an hour. I was third in line at the counter when the manager came out to say that they had NO cars. She said if you have an existing reservation you need to wait 1 1/2 to 3 hours for a car. I went to the counter just to make sure this included me and I was charged an additional $487.00! I then canceled my reservation through Expedia and within five minutes had a car from Enterprise right next to Dollar for $578.00 for nine days! It was a small SUV Nissan Rogue similar to the car I thought I had reserved from Dollar. I later realized that Dollar tried to charge an additional $680.00 to a different credit card which I provided at the counter. When I called I was told that Dollar was claiming that I had a vehicle in my possession and if I wanted to cancel my reservation I had to bring the car back to the airport. Needless to say I did not need this stress during my first two days of vacation. Never again. I am not making this up. I have receipts, emails and texts to prove it. Don’t fall for the lower price on the website because it will only end up costing you more and that’s IF you get a car.
