Rented a car from Dollar on 11/5/2024 in Atlanta. I reserved a car online and paid for the car. Got to the counter and they charged me again for the car rental. Contacted customer service through their online web service and still have not received any info on a refund. Tried researching a customer service number to call but they only offer online forms to fill out. WILL NOT RENT A CAR FROM THEM EVER AGAIN. I GUESS YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!

Dollar is trying to run a scam through their online and person to person rentals. A few days before my reserved rental, Dollar ask me to check in online and I would be able to pick up my vehicle w/o going to the desk. The day before pick up they emailed to ask for any modifications. They offered a fill tank option for $49.95. I tried to modify, repeatedly, it wouldnt work. A few hours before my pick up, Dollar text to say the vehicle I had reserved was not available but they would get me one ASAP or I could upgrade for $25 per day. I went to the counter and told the representative what was going on and she said Yes we have told the company the online reservation has many flaws and we shouldnt be using it. Then she gave me the option of three vehicles in my reserved class, one being the exact car I reserved. She also told me I could purchase the tank refill option for $2.75 per gallon, insinuating I would only be charged for gallons used. I was charged a flat fee of $39.95 and not the $49.95 fee previously mentioned. They ask me for a survey about the Pick up experience which was a scam in itself. The day after return they ask me for another survey, when I tried to fill it out they said I was only allowed one survey every 60 days. I guess they have thought of most ways that future customers do not find out about their scamming and fraudulent practices.

Got sick and lost my voice during rental and had an emergency, tried calling, texting and emailed them. No response back , just an automated text saying my contract was over due . I was in another state and couldnt even drive home yet so I needed to extend or just see what my options were . Because I was physically unable to return car at that time. Finally drove myself back home 300 miles a couple days later , still sick , responded to a text they sent me since I can never get a hold of a person. Still nothing but needed to extend . A couple days , with out any notice, they repossessed the vehicle I went out side to get all my belongings that were still in there from my trip, not to mention a brand new very expensive laptop. And thats when I noticed it gone. The people at the dollar counter didnt even try to help me they just pointed me to a random desk that had sone type of manager there I could talk so I talked to this Joke of a manager JC at **************** in *********, Ca. He was so unfriendly and a waste of time.He just walks away like nothin. So I walked into the actual hertz counter and the manager ,******* I believe his name was , candd we out and was right on it. Called his manager and in 5 minutes, located my rental and it was literally 5 minutes away!!!! At thier service yard. All in less than ( minutes! Another ***** manager said they arent even supposed to do that untill the contract is almost a month overdue.. in my case it was like less then a week . Because I originally extended it and it was approved, for the 24th . Fast forward to 11/8, still no contact from them , nothing. A couple days ago I filed a dispute through ********* since I had booked the original days through them, said I should hear from them after they hear from dollar/ hertz. Within 10days yesterday Dollar rental charged my credit card $845!!!!! And of course, no contact, no notice, not even a receipt!!! IM DEMANDING MY REFUND IN FULL THEY DO NOT DESERVE A *****!

They will completely rip you off. Tell you that they are giving you a free upgrade and charge you 4 times the original terms. You cannot talk to a live person

COMPLETELY RIPPED ME OFF! I am not stopping until this gets fixed. I have called and can never get a hold of anyone! I have sent multiple messages on their site and no one contacts me. 10 days after I returned the car on time they claim it just got back and are over charging me over $1000! I wasn't even on that side of the country anymore! The incompetent employees at *** messed up and they are trying to charge me for it! If this needs to get legal it will. I know I can get proof. There must be cameras or GPS on that car. It was there on time with a full tank of gas in perfect condition and I will not pay a cent more than what I agreed to. This is insanely unacceptable that this happened and that I cannot get a hold of anyone to fix it!

On September 29, 2024 my wife and I arrived at the ***************** around 5pm (7pm Iowa time), about an hour behind the original schedule. We are both in our later 70s and were very tired from a long day of traveling. We proceeded to the Dollar rental desk and indicated we had a reservation for a vehicle made through a ********** in ************ ****. The booking stipulated renting the vehicle beginning 9/29/24 with a return on 10/7/24 at a weekly rate of $390.49, an extra day rate of $54.99 and an extra hour rate of $******** the desk we were greeted by ****** who right off informed us that due to whatever circumstances earlier that day the vehicle we had reserved was not available. However, if we wanted to wait another 1 -1 hours a vehicle in the same class might be available. We were very tired and asked for alternatives. ***** indicated the only vehicle she could provide at the same rate was a 12-passenger van! There was no way we could accept this offer, whereupon ***** stated the only other alternative was to upgrade at an additional cost of $216 (plus any tax/fee).Reluctantly, we accepted the upgrade. Then, when ***** asked if we wanted to take insurance, I declined. When asked to initial the paperwork, I thought I was agreeing to decline insurance. However, upon reviewing the invoice I noted a charge for Loss Damage Waiver of $232.32. Shame on me for not noticing this charge at the time.Looking back, I cant help but believe we were the victim of a bait and switch, where a sweet-talking agent was able to add nearly $500 to the bill.

I only ledr one star because I had to. If I could give it a negative 5 Stars I would. Worst company I've ever had the dysfortune to interact with. Nothing but scammers and thieves. I got charged convenience fees for nothing and I got charged for a vacuuming fee because they said I smoked in there. I am a non-smoker and that is absolutely ridiculous. No human is able to be contacted which is bs. It has to be because they know that they're thieves. Emailing doesn't work either. When my plane landed and I went to go look at my car, the parking space was empty. So I had no choice but to go wait in line that took forever. The people that worked behind the counter clearly woke up on the wrong side of the bed as they were total *******. Was the worst experience of any kind of customer service I've ever had in my entire life. ABSOLUTELY NEVER RENT FROM THESE SCAMMERS IF YOU CAN HELP IT. What an embarrassment of a company. Dollar, I hope you read this. And at the very least, I hope you send me my money back because you all stole it. I agreed to terms and conditions, not the nonsense that you all pulled out of your asses. Bogus, thieving, scamming company. Y'all should be ashamed of yourselves.

I am wildly disappointed with my experience with Dollar rent a car. I reserved a 12 passenger van through Priceline and was quoted $489.73 (which I have the receipt for). When I went to pick up the van, not only was I required to be upcharged for commercial insurance and additional random fees that I was surprised with but the daily rate cost had nearly doubled ($836.00) and the total amount I ended up having to pay was $1,316.68. This is a wildly drastic change in costs that was not advised properly at all and is incredibly unfair that the total price that I paid was almost 3x what I was originally quoted. I have reached out to Dollar rental directly and have not received a response yet. It is completely unacceptable that the amount that I was quoted was not honored whatsoever. If the receipts are needed I'm more than happy to submit them and will not hesitate to continue further escalating this situation until this has been resolved

Took us way too long to get the car, they included a bunch of extra fees which they dont tell you about until checkout, they made us buy extra insurance which was way over priced, and all the employees were rude. Go to Enterprise or something this company is horrible.
