      Dollar Rent A Car AVOID AT ALL COSTS!This is hands down the worst car rental company *** ever dealt with. **************** is non-existent youll be stuck in long lines every single time. My parents rented a car, returned it on time, yet were unfairly slapped with late fees and an upgrade charge that was never disclosed upfront by their employee. Its clear this company doesnt care about transparency or treating customers fairly. Complete rip-off. Dont ever rent from Dollar Rent A Car if you want to avoid a headache!

      I had a terrible experience with Dollar Car Rental at the **********, ***************. Despite having a confirmed reservation, they had no car ready for me when I arrived. The customer service was appallingno apology, no explanation, just a demand that I return the next day. When I finally got a vehicle, I had already lost a day's rental for which I'd paid in advance, and they made no effort to compensate me. To make matters worse, when I asked why there were no cars, they became confrontational and even threatened to withhold the car altogether. The vehicle I received was filthy and clearly not properly cleaned. I am extremely dissatisfied and will not be using Dollar again.

      I just received a notice of $400 cleaning charge for smoking ? for a rental I did 4 months ago I don't even SMOKE!. I rented a car for only 13 hours and received it dirty and smelly. I took pitcures on the day I received it through their website. My credit card company denied them payment. (thank God) I'm filing a complaint with the BBB.

      I rented a car at *****************************. I returned my car rental at 4:30 a.m.. put my keys in the return Dropbox as instructed by the front desk lady who assured me I would have no issues if I returned my key due to my flight leaving earlier than their opening hours of 6am. However we were still charged for late services . There is only an online customer service to email them that states they will contact you. But the company never contacted me to rectify this situation even though I returned my car an hour and a half earlier than my required time. My money was never refunded.

      I booked a rental with dollar and they misled me and made me think I had to get the insurance AND loss damage waiver which added an addition few hundred dollars to my invoice. I also added my husband as a driver and they charted me $95. Come to find out, spouses are supposed to be added at no extra charge in **********. The agent that processed our rental knew she was bamboozling us, saw that I was confused and neglected to state in a clear and conspicuous manner (which is required by law) that the insurance is optional. Especially since I had waived it online beforehand. Ended up paying $1200 for a rental for which I was originally quoted $400 Absolutely horrible experience as I was unable to contact anyone directly over the phone. A manager was able to help with some of the charges when we dropped the car off but as of now I am still awaiting a refund for the fraudulent additional driver charge. This business has horrible customer service, every person I spoke to on the phone had no idea what to do and there was clearly no escalation training or steps available. Will never rent with dollar car/hertz again if I can help it. Bunch of scam artists

      Where do I start???? We purchased a 2014 ************* from this company in March 2024 and approximately 2 weeks later the car was running badly. Took it back to the lot not even sure what was wrong with it they claim they fixed it.. picked it up almost 2 weeks later ran for a little then it stopped on me. Had it towed back to them. A week later got it back it ran maybe a month then right back in the shop and this time i had to pay $600 for repairs. At the same time making my payments on a car I have barely driven and they were not trying to work with me at all. I am a single mother and I put $3000 down thinking I was getting a good car. Which my Mom was skeptical, but because it was what I wanted she cosigned for me now she is regretting it and I am too. This car has been in the shop 5 times and ******** and ****** at the repair shop that repairs their cars was very RUDE and NASTY. Just dropped my car off again today 9/11/2024 @ 10 am due to running hot which was supposed to had been fixed previously. I already feel like I am getting the run around and a bad deal and to deal with people that really don't care about your situation is so inconsiderate. I have tried to speak with supervisors or higher management and have had no luck. I called today to get the ** info and they claim ***** knows it they know they not right and they are selling BAD CARS. We had several people interested until they realized her car was in the shop more than she had it which is totally unacceptable. If you have money to throw away by all means go to them. I wouldn't send my enemy to these people for a car. They are now 5 ********** on ************************************************************ Formerly Dollar Car Sales on ********** and *******. Times are hard and noone has money to just blow. I pray that everyone come thru and give the real complaints on this carlot. They sold me a LEMON and they know it. Good things doesn't come to bad people.

      We initially received a car with the low oil engine light on. We tried to contact Dollar Car Rental and they were no help. We took the car to a mechanic and were informed that it was unsafe to drive. Dollar Car employees tried to argue it was still safe to drive. Eventually a tow truck was sent and it took 6 hours to trade in for a new car. The employees were rude even saying Im not going to help you. Once we finally got a new car, the maintenance light was on showing how they do not take care of their cars.

      I returned my rental car on the day and time indicated with a full tank of fuel on the rental agreement yet got charged for 2 extra days and a fuel charge.

      Terrible company! I had canceled a rental reservation with them 48 hours before pick up date. According to their policy, it states I would be refunded my prepaid amount paid minus $100 during that time frame of cancellation. They however state, according to their records, I have no refund coming back whatsoever due to I was a no-show! This is absolutely not true! I showed them my outgoing call records to them from my phone and also ask them do you not keep records of your calls at all? Also, good luck with trying to call and speak to somebody over the phone, With their phone navigation system is the worst ever it puts you in a circle ????

      This is regarding my rental at the Dollar Rental car location in *******, **. The car was returned in pristine condition, with the exception of grass on the back seat mats that would have come up with a simple vacuum. A simple vacuum is required by the *** as part of standard cleaning procedure. Instead, we were charged $125 and were told the car had to go to detailing. That tells me that someone was too lazy to do their job and and took advantage of us as the customer as we had already left the location. So I disputed the charge with my credit card company and got the $125 returned to me. Then Dollar sent me to collections, but not for the $125 but for the entire total of $410. I sent proof of documentation both to Dollar and to their collections company, ******. ****** actually acknowledged what I had sent and said Dollar would have to correct the amount as they were unable to.I have been going back and forth with Dollar **************** for over six months about this. They take several days to respond, and it's just a scripted answer each time. I asked for this to be escalated to someone who could correct the amount, but got nowhere. I have a chain of e-mails with their canned responses that dates back to early 2024. They insist the chargeback amount was for $410 and I requested they show me proof, which they said they could not provide. Yet I have shown proof on my end of the $125 charge back. They are still insisting they cannot correct the amount. So this is how this is going to work, Dollar....I have an 860 FICO score. If you can't get the collected amount correct, you will not be seeing a dime from me. I have never been sent to collections in my life. It would be easy to just throw my hands up and pay the $410 but it is the principle of the matter. I have never experienced such awful and inept customer service. I will never use this company again, and I urge you not to as well. I will pay higher and go elsewhere! 0 stars!!!
