I'm only giving 1 star because I have to. HORRIBLE experience, zero customer support, and they know when you get to the airport after traveling all day, you don't really have many options when you've been expecting to pick up a vehicle you reserved weeks in advance. The reservation means nothing. We have 3 small children, all with car seats, so we reserved a large SUV to fit everyone and our luggage. They didn't have any kind of SUV at all when we got to the counter. They gave us a truck that doesn't have a full size back seat so the car seats barely fit, the kids are crammed in, the only place for all of our luggage is in the back, and it rained all the way the way to where we are staying so all of our stuff was soaking wet. I called customer service and it's a loop of useless automated options. I tried the live chat option. I did finally get a response about an hour after starting the chat, only to be told that the airport location we rented from was an independent location and we would have to contact them. They did absolutely nothing.

I rarely write reviews but I felt entitled to share my experience. The rear passenger **** tire on my rented vehicle exploded, by the grace of god I didn't crash. I contacted the roadside service immediately, at first they weren't going to send help because it was too early in the morning until I told them I was a service member in the Army. They told me that the tow truck would tow me to Hertz HQ at the Dallas Airport. I was reassured that a transfer vehicle would be there. Once we arrived, it wasn't no vehicle waiting for me. I went to the customer service office in the HQ, the only thing was there was a telephone with phone numbers that didn't work at all. I called roadside again, they swore somebody was there but I explained to them multiple times that no one was there. Then I was instructed to go to the car rental area of the airport. At first she wanted me and my son to walk to the area, I had to explained to her that we were on the maintence side of the airport. We have luggage and walking wasn't an option, after some persuading they ordered me a Lyft from the maintence area to the lobby area of the airport. Once I reached the Hertz lobby I was given a transfer vehicle. The lack of care and concern pushed my travel time back 6 1/2 hours and caused me to miss a important family event. I haven't been home in three years since I've been deployed. This experience with Hertz has been horrible, the chances of me using their services again are very slim. God bless!

I called Hertz Executive Services in July 5, and spoke with ******, regarding my Hertz points. ****** informed me that my points would not expire on July 20 as I thought, but that the expiration date was actually October 1, 2022. ****** issued a case number and said that if I did not hear back from Hertz by July 20, to call and give them this informaiton, and there would be no concerns or issues regarding my points.

I called Hertz on July 20 and spoke with ****** ***** informed me that ****** had given me inaccurate information, that the case number meant nothing and that I was about to loose all my points as of that date, July 20.

I was then forced to make a decision: Lose all my points, go to a local Hertz and pay for a rental or go to a local Hertz and use points for a rental, which I was informed would require double points because Hertz had imposed a blackout on customer's points.

I had no need for a rental on July 20 but because of inaccurate information and the irresponsible practices of Hertz Executive Services, I went to a local Hertz and used double points for a rental which I never used. The vehicle never left the Hertz lot.

You would expect knowledgeable and thoughtful service out of Hertz Executive Services but obviously this proves the opposite.

I used this location as this was the only option given to me by my dealership as the work was covered by my factory warranty. I returned the vehicle the next day and noticed 3 weeks later that I was charged for an extra day and for gas. I returned the vehicle the very next day and with a full tank of gas. But yet I was charged 73.01 for fraudulent charges. I have the receipts of my drop off and a receipt for the gas that I used. The associate Westley told me I would receive a credit back to my card and it's been a month now and still no credit. Not only that but when I went to question him about the credit, he assaulted me with a car door and grabbed me by my throat. Police were called and a report was made. But as of today, I still have not received my credit.

If I could leave no stars I would. Horrible business. I'm not even sure where to begin with this one. Started as a decent experience and then had a kid who brought my car up from the back and him and the person at the desk (girl) proceeded to talk about a flat tire as if it wasn't an issue for a car that I just spent money on to rent. I asked if I could have a different car because I don't want to leave the lot and have a flat tire an hour later if you are not sure if the problem was fixed. They then called manager Mike to try and rectify the situation but did not want to help at all with the situation because it was his day off. I forgot they mentioned they have no active manager on duty while I was there. I proceed to voice my frustrations and ask if there is anything they could do to rectify the situation and they said yeah I can wait another half hour for a new car. I said wow that's very professional of you especially being in a customer service industry. He proceeded to tell me that I was the problem and since I was concerned that my car wasn't safe. Him and the girl repeatedly used profanity towards me and didn't offer any solution, nor did the manager mike who was on the phone at the time listening to the whole thing. The girl proceeded to say well I don't think we should give them a car anymore after mike mentioned something on the phone about a discount. I didn't know hourly employees are able to overturn a managers decision, but apparently this place is ran by no one since no one wants to help or solve any solutions they only care about arguing with the customer. Certain employees also verbally threatened me saying to "come behind the counter and see what happens". "I make more money than you I don't even need this job". I wasn't expecting to get threatened when renting a car because your employees can't control their emotions. Very unprofessional and something needs to be done about this place.

The actual rental experience was easily 5 stars. However, the fraudulent agent agreement and customer service would be negative 5. Upon renting the car we were told "we HAD to have insurance". Upon realizing this wasn't the case and was an added charge (to what I already prepaid) I called and was assured it would be removed. Not only was it NOT removed as promised by the agent, but I was told all they could do was refund 1 day (out of 7). I was told a supervisor would call me to talk about this. It has been 5 days now...still no call. Very disappointing.

I had a reservation for a standard SUV at O'hare Airport (Chicago). I get the the vehicle they selected for me, start it up, and the "needs oil change soon" notification pops up on the screen. I go back in, they give me a much bigger vehicle and I leave. I notice that the inside of the vehicle is dirty, like someone with food residue all over their hands touched everything in the truck. I decided to call customer service and they told me I could return the truck or call back once the rental was returned to discuss compensation. My trip was about 630 miles one way. The last day of my trip the the "oil change soon" notification pops up on the screen. There was a 3% oil life left on the truck, so I call roadside. They instructed me to take the vehicle to a auto shop to be looked at. I was very frustrated for several reasons. Not only did I have to miss a family function, I had to drive out of my way to a auto shop. This is now the third time I was inconvenienced since arriving at Hertz. After sitting in the auto shop for an hour the mechanic told me that the oil was fine, and that the mileage was never reset after the last oil change. I called customer service and the rep offered me a credit, I declined. He stated that it was the best he can do. I requested to speak with a supervisor and he said they were all on a call. I told him I would hold, he came back to the line and offered me $80 of my rental. I declined. I requested again to speak with a supervisor and the rep told me that a supervisor would have to call be back. The supervisor was not helpful at all so I ask for a manager, she told me that a manger would have to call me back but she couldn't guarantee a call back time. It's been three days now. To be fair that was a Friday but, I'm not confident that anyone will call me back.

They're trying to charge $300 for "outside washing" on a warranty related rental. Absolutely ridiculous. Also impossible to reach unless you try to book a new rental.

Tried to call place of rental. Each of my FIVE calls was hung up on. Tried to find out why my credit card was charged $991.00 twice! I called an eight hundred number that referred me back to place of rental! Since no one there will answer the phone, my only option is to actually drive to the Ft. Myers airport. This is not practical as I am staying a half hour (at least) away! This the last time I will ever do business with Hertz.
