1 starBy far the worst experience ever. I was in *************** and it put a damper on the whole trip. Staff lie and contradict each other. They make customers buy insurance and add 46% tax they say its mandatory...big lie. Just shut the crooked company down...Review fromNicole A

1 starMy rental got towed from the gas station because the gas station attendant and tow company are scamming customers saying that it is ok to park but once you leave the vehicle they call the tow company fir a cut back. I called Sixt on Sunday to inform this about the tow on Sunday 3-6-2025, today is Friday they stated they still have no update on the car getting picked up. They cant authorize me to pick the vehicle up, which is absurd. If Sixt recovery is understaffed I have no problem with picking up the vehicle. I had to extend the rental and I dont even have the rental. Sixt is allowing the price at the tow yard to accumulate so they can get money out of people. Our economy is already in demise & this is away for them to get money out of people. I am disgusted and aggravatedReview fromRichard L

1 starI rented a car from Sixt through ******. I had a fundamental problem with which I will never rent from them again. I went to the rental counter and presented a letter from the ** DMV saying that this letter is proof of my drivers license and is to be used when needed, until my regular license is processed and sent to me by the **** I presented this letter and my passport to three agents at the SIXT car rental company. I was informed that they cannot accept these two forms of identification, and they would not rent a car to me. My wife was with me, and she had to rent the car in her name with her credit cards. They would not even allow me to use my credit card to pay, and I wanted to use my **************** card because I get better benefits, such as car rental insurance. I was not even allowed to drive the car. As we were walking out to get the rental car, I wondered if all rental car companies managed this matter in the same way. So, I stopped at Budget/Avis, and I asked if I could rent a car from them using the same two forms of identification (DMV letter and passport) that I was rejected with by SIXT rental car company. Budget/**** told me that there would be no problem at all. If I had not pre-paid on my original rental agreement and made another charge on my wifes credit card, I would have cancelled the SIXT car rental. Even so, I was tempted to lose the money on the SIXT car rental and rent a car from Budget, where I or my wife would be able to drive it.Review fromMary D

1 starI was and still am deeply disappointed in this place. First, they forced me into a larger gas guzzler SUV, then they talk me out of getting a toll pass through them but to get a visitor toll pass at a kiosk which the **** guy helped me with. The car wasnt in the spot they said it would be, then I get a $70 from them for missed tolls including an ungodly amount for administrations fees! I notified them immediately and asked for a copy of my rental contract to send with this toll receipt that I never should have gotten, and they STILL have not sent it to me and are now avoiding my emails! NEVER will I rent from this rental company again! EVER!!! Next call is to the better business bureau. I should not have to pay for the Visitor toll pass AND the $70 toll bill that **** claims I owe them. Send me a copy of my rental contract so I can submit it to Visitor toll pass! Its that easy! Stay away from **** in *******!!! They are nothing shy of ********!Review fromDeanna M

1 starThis company is the most unprofessional business I have ever worked with! We were on vacation and the rental car got towed due to a mistake on parking not intentional at all! They decided that we had to leave the car there and they wanted us to pay for the towing and renting the car for more days ! Said they would not give us authorization to pick the car up from the towing company! I will never rent from this company again!Review fromKazimierz M

1 starIn June, I had a reservation to rent a car with Sixt at **************. When I went to pick up the car, I was told I would not be able to drive it to *******, which was the ultimate destination of our trip. Since we could not take the car to *******, this reservation was useless to me, even though it had already been paid. Romania has been an ** member since 2007, so this refusal didnt make sense. I have rented many cars from **** in ****** and *******, and this has never been an issue.Although no services were rendered since the car was never picked up, I was charged the full rental price for a service I never received. I was forced to pay again to rent a car from another company. In addition, the unfriendly customer service refused to provide a refund for this rental or a discount for future rentals. I will never use Sixt for any future business or leisure car rental. If you don't like to pay twice for the same car rental service, avoid a company like ****. Its rental policies are convoluted, and its customer service is unfriendly.Review fromJosh K

We rented a vehicle for our stay in disneyland. We drove it to our hotel and then parked it until we had to drive back to the airport. We are 1000% certain there was no damage done to the vehicle but we got an email saying there was damage. After talking to the customer service rep (who was incredibly rude) and telling them I would be hiring a lawyer considering these false claims they said they would drop the claim. I am certai. This company files false damage claims to collect insurance money. Would absolutely never rent from them again and their insurance claims should be investigated for *****.Review fromashley d

1 starI rented a Standard Elite SUV which said it seats 7 seats and can carry 4 bags. My family of 6 with 3 of them under 8 could not comfortably fit in this vehicle with only a stroller. Definitely not accurate advertising. Then, after returning the vehicle spotless and with more gas than we were given to start, I receive a damage claim for 2 scratches I had not seen the entire rental. They now want $645. The agent on the lot cleared the vehicle and told me I could go. It should be illegal for companies to not report damage while you are still there to verify. Now it's my word against theirs.0 StarsReview fromSteve h

1 starOn March 2nd, took a vacation to *******. Arrived in *************** and picked up our rental car at Sixt. Everything seems good with the app as far as selecting the vehicle to have it ready when we arrived. Once we arrived, went inside and gave our info to the lady at the counter. Then followed her outside where she retrieved the key and handed it to me and pointed to the vehicle and said that's your car. I asked her "are we doing a walk around?" She replied "NO, Your good to go. Everything has been done. We went to the vehicle and walk in it anyway and noticed scratch on several rims and a small dent on the driver side fender, But she said everything was done so thought it was okay. Drove to our hotel in ************** and notice now we had an email with receipt and a walk around checklist, tried to take a picture of the dent but the app said time has expired. Still thinking, everything is okay to the counter person, so figured all the damaged we saw was already noticed by sixt. When we returned the vehicle on the 7th, the man checking it in asked me about the dent I replied It was there when we picked the vehicle up. He didn't say anything else and had me signed the tablet to finalize the rental. The day after we returned home, I get an email asking us once again about the dent. Once again, I explained this was already there. The next day they sent a bill $1,715.55 for damaged we never caused. We then started researching about the company and noticed trust pilot had ***** 1 star negative reviews, yelp had 435 1 star negative reviews and the 858 complaints all within the last year and 90% of these were similar instances where people complaining about damaged that they did not ******** guess is this is Sixt's common business practice. I would be curious to see how many times this particular dent has been charged to different renters. This many negative reviews all similar can't be a coincidence.
