      Complaint: Sixt Rent a Car Wrongfully Flagged Valid Drivers License as Fake I am filing this complaint regarding an incident with Sixt Rent a Car, where my valid and government-issued drivers license was incorrectly flagged as "fake." I have been a loyal **** customer for several years, renting vehicles without issue. During a recent reservation, Sixt refused to honor my booking, claiming my license was not authentic.This accusation is completely false. My license is genuine, current, and issued by the proper state authority. Sixt provided no clear explanation or process for correcting the error. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the matter directly, I have not received any satisfactory response or assistance.The incident caused unnecessary stress and disruption to my travel plans. Furthermore, being falsely accused of using a fake license is damaging and unacceptable, particularly when I have a proven rental history with the company.I am requesting that ****:1. Acknowledge and correct the error in their verification process.2. Remove any internal flags or restrictions on my account.3. Provide a formal apology for the inconvenience and mishandling of this matter.I hope BBB can help facilitate a prompt and fair resolution.

      This company is a rip off. Was charged $200 deposit for fuel and cleaning due to ********** one from this company ever talked to me upon pick up or return. Upon return the 2 very young unprofessional boys were joking and on their phone laughing. I am almost 50 years old. Took some time to get away to the beach. There was absolutely Zero damage to the car. Then told it was dirty upon return. Is a little sand is considered dirty?!!! Now Im receiving a bill for $800 in damages The car had fuel. And zero damage in my possession. First and last time customer. This company is a rip off

      Dropped car off in garage one day early. July 1 at 12pm noon. I have been receiving emails car is not returned from ****. The **************** number is the ONLY contact for SIXT and the people cannot speak English, they are rude, have no idea how to solve this, will NOT get a supervisor and today, July 4th the customer service person said the BOSTON office has to take care of closing the account and crediting me one day. I WILL NEVER RENT FROM SIXT AGAIN. IT IS A POORLY RUN ORGANIZATION.

      We received an invoice for damage in the car two days later of returning the car. We gave the keys to an employee who inspected the car at the time we returned. Sixt billedus for over $300 USD in damages. I am so disapointed of my selft that I didn't read the reviews and complains - it seems that it is normal practices by Sixt to bill for unknowing damages. I recommend to ask Sixt to provides a document /receipt of the condicion of the car when it is return.

      Prepayed for a rental from *****************, got to counter and they didnt have the car that I already paid for. Counter agent said shed cancel and refund me immediately. Never got a refund, they are saying I was a no show and charged me $600 for something I never received. Back and forth with customer service for 6 days now with no resolve. They even went as far as changing my invoice, twice, to say I was a no show. Thank goodness for screenshots and **** receipts. Never again with this place.

      Rent a car on **************************** on Monday Morning, June 23. When I went to pick up the car, the reservation already paid was canceled by the front desk and money would be refunded. I had to rent a car with a different company. June 25, I tried to call and contact the third part company where I always do my reservations when I notice reservation still active. Well, the front desk never canceled the reservation, they just brushed me off with the cancelation talk and left me without a car and keep the money. Now of courser they refuse to return the money from 23 to 27 of June. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.

      Do not rent from them. Just notice while in line they will try to upsell everyone on a more expensive vehicle and then claim damage after the technician says that the car is fine. The damage claims appear to be more of a camera filter vs an actual picture. Do not rent without the insurance. They will nickel and dime you for more than the rental cost. It may seem like a deal in the beginning but they will say that you damaged just enough to make the car pay for itself 10x over.

      I highly discourage using this twisted company. I was wrongfully accused to wrecking the vehicle when I had 5 witnesses to prove that there was not any collision at all during my travels. This company is the last place I would choose to rent a vehicle from. Customer service is a joke and they do not car about their customers.

      I rented a car from Sixt Rent a Car from June 7 to June 19, 2025, and had a very disappointing and stressful experience. When I picked up the car, it smelled strongly of smoke and marijuana. The odor got worse after a few hours, especially when my child opened a compartment. My two daughters complained of headaches, and we had to drive with the windows down. The car was also dirty inside, which made it hard to inspect for damage. I reported the odor the same day (ticket #********), and Sixts only solution was to return the car to a location 2 hours awayimpossible with our travel plans. On June 14, the car began to overheat. A Maine Turnpike safety operator helped us and confirmed the vehicle was low on coolant. I reported this (ticket #********), was told to buy coolant, and had to take a detour, wasting time and money. After returning the car, Sixt charged me $747.42 for a 10 ** **** I did not cause. They refused to provide time-stamped photos, inspection reports, or damage documentation. Whats worse is that I discovered **** has made this same 10 ** **** claim against other customersplease be alert. On June 23, I was told that the charge would go to collections if I didnt pay by July 7. I have filed a complaint with the *** and plan to escalate further. Im shocked by how poorly Sixt handled this, from the unsafe car to threatening my credit over a disputed charge. I do not recommend renting from Sixt and urge others to document the car before fully and after any rental.

      What a horrible company that preyes on senior citizens like my wife and I late at night. They denied us the pre-booked reservation, treated us extremely rudely late at night when we were tired, and stole our pre-booking money, not even offering us a refund for the money already paid. This is effectively a criminal act, deliberately swindling a customer.
