1 starIf you had asked me a year ago I would have given them a 4 star. The Doctor himself is kind and shows compassion, however the rest of the Florida Cancer system is horrible. 1: They do not answer 9 out of 10 times. You get a recording saying they are busy and to leave a message.2: They never call you back. 3: The front staff has an awful demeanor. They are short and rude with patients.4: ********** states it closes at 5:00 however many late afternoons I have called and the answering service is already picking up. 5: They book 3 doctors in a facility that can only accommodate 2 doctors. This has caused numerous appointments to have a 3 hour wait time. Horrible for the patients which are extremely fatigued and sick. 6: They book appointments and print them out for you, yet somehow the appointment changes in their system with no notice to the patient.7: Anytime their is a change in medication it takes weeks for it to get sorted out.Review fromShannon T

1 starWe were referred to Florida Cancer Specialists under the impression, the facility was run through Advent Healthcare. The Advent Healthcare name is on the building and the Cancer Treatment Center shares the same parking lot as Advent Hospital in Daytona Beach. However as soon as we signed in at the front desk we were told that they were not affiliated and later told they were partners? We had all our paperwork filled out prior to the appointment & showed up 15 minutes before our scheduled appointment time. We waited more than an hour and a half in the waiting area & nearly two hours before the doctor walked in to see us for the first time. My husband has stage four renal cell carcinoma and was being treated at the Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville for three years, but because of insurance issues with pharmaceutical coverage for his new cancer treatment we were told we had to transfer to another healthcare facility. The oncologist was apologetic about the long wait but our overall first impression was not good. He was arrogant and did not make us feel welcome to say the least. When asked about diet, he responded that my husband should eat whatever he wants with no regard to nutrition or the benefits of a healthy diet, especially when fighting a disease. He said there was "No Science" to support healthy eating and cancer!!! This was a huge red flag for us, especially since a large framed promotion for Advent Healthcare Nutrition staff was prominently displayed on the wall when you walk in to the facility. The rude & careless demeanor of this physician turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because it motivated us to contact our insurance company one last time to see if they would make an exception and allow us to continue his treatments at Mayo. Thankfully, we were able to switch treatments back to Mayo, a World Class medical facility! We would not recommend Florida Cancer Specialists to anyone unless it's a last resort. FCS can do better and we pray for their patients.Review fromPenny K

5 starsFirst thing, when going through cancer or any illness , you have to feel comfortable with your doctor and staff because you spend a lot of time with them. If you dont feel a 100 % that you can trust them or you feel nervous around them than you need to keep looking around till you find a place that makes you feel like family and that you are a person not a number! For me, I found that at the Florida Cancer Specialist! 2nd, you need to make sure your surgeon as well as any other people that you need to do to have a good quality of life is there for you! My surgeon is ******************** and he is fantastic ! My Doctor ******************************* at the ********************** facility on **************************************** across from ******************************* has been fantastic! I have been a patient of Stage 4 HER2+ breast cancer for 11 years now and ongoing and I would not want to go anywhere else, I would be afraid because I am living proof that with my care I get and their watchful eye over me and their love that they show me everytime I go for treatment and their concern of how I am doing is wonderful! I thank God for having those people here to take good care of me!Of course ,God does the healing through the doctors and staff! and I will never be able to thank them for all they do for me and all the other patients! Again if you feel uncomfortable than try another Dr at Florida Cancer Specialist or a different location and than if you are still feeling uncomfortable than try some other facility because you need to feel positively the whole time!! I send prayers and positivity to the patients as well as their families and friends and have a good support system!!!!!Review fromJo R

The pa told me all I needed was a b12 shot . She has no idea she shouldn’t be there . Shame on Them for allowing this , After 6 months of problems including a surgery because of there negligenceReview fromLinda H

1 starHorrible service, no feedback or follow up, dr. Read blood test results incorrectly, didn’t communicate the results and then didn’t show up for scheduled appointment. Went in for follow up today and waited for over an hour after the scheduled appointment time for dr. ***** to come in- in the meantime there was no communication about when/if she would be meeting. I can’t really express our frustration with the level of incompetence of the staff and the apparent lack of concern for the patients at the Florida Cancer Center at The Villages location!Review fromRiv C

1 starOrange City, FL: 1) No one follows up to check radiology results they ordered. Luckily health system posts results for patients to view. 2) Phone system does not work. No one answers phone. I have to drive there to talk to anyone about alarming results. 3) Their “premier” clinical care is NOT - patients no longer have access to a clinician for issues, questions, assistance. So much for chemo training RN who said, call if any for questions or problems -“ we are here for you”. NOT 4) Their appointment scheduling system for radiology orders is unacceptable. Call and you wait and wait for an appt scheduler to respond. After an hour’s wait on hold, you are disconnected. If I leave my phone# for call back, no call back.Review fromKelly G

1 starDenied an appt after mltpl referrals to *********** practice. Called for months leaving msgs concerned about symptoms and the fact that a pcp took me off my blood thinner. The reason I was given for denial , over and over again, ************* thinks youd be better off at ** to which I kept replying I dont want to treat at ** I have pulled all my care from there t office mgr just kept repeating her reasoning.I finally make it to a hematologist. My labs are jacked: elevated lipids cholesterol high low b12 factor 8 (I have a blood clotting disorder and a prior DVT and my dad had a stroke at my mid age) other labs off: high homocysteine high ferritin low folate low k. Im lucky I didnt have a stroke while waiting for fl cancer spec to give me an appointment, which they were never going to do apparently. This practice either discriminated against me bc I have mild cognitive impairment and ptsd, or they were told by the va not to help me, either way they UNLAWFULLY denied me an appt. I was put on high dose of blood thinners right away and told never again to come off of them. Now working to restore my labs with supplements and careful monitoring. Im seeking legal representation. It is worth driving out of *********** to find another practice, unless youre okay with literally risking your life. SHAME ON YOU ALLReview fromTINA P

1 starThis is the worst doctor's office I've ever been to!!! I've had several issues with them but the worst is when they called the drug company and got me kicked out of the patient assistance program and I can't get my cancer drug because I don't have $30k per month sitting around. I will literally die without this drug!!! Cancer Not Specialists!!!Review fromChristina R

1 starI had to call for 3 days to make sure they had my scan before I came in. Finally, the day of the app, they called at noon to say they had it. The doctor was obviously already on holiday given that I had to correct her no less than 2 times before her scribe went to her computer to show her her mistake. I have a history of breast cancer and recently had seizures. I wanted to be able to know it wasn't brain cancer before Christmas. Short of that, I would not expect to have to call and stress, from Thursday - Monday, to find out if you have scans. I should not have to correct the doctor multiple times because she was confused. She was updating me on an old brain bleed we aren't worried about. If I hadn't been paying attention and taking notes no one may have caught the mistake. I do not, at this point, have much confidence in this place or my doctor. I have asked for help multiple times because I feel so badly. No help. In fact, it took me 9 months after being diagnosed with breast cancer to find a therapist. This place does not offer "complete" care. At the moment I'd barely call it adequate.Maybe these people are desensitized because of their exposure but as a cancer patient, I expect my " care " team to help me. I'm not only considering leaving the practice but am seriously considering quitting treatment. The meds aren't helping and the staff certainly isn't.Review fromMel S
