My wife and I were in the process of purchasing a home from Lennar Homes in the Clift Farms area of Huntsville/Madison, Alabama. After initiating the paperwork and providing $1,000 in earnest money, we reevaluated our decision and came to the conclusion that we did not believe Lennar to be an honest company. The townhouse we were interested in was originally built by Breland Homes and featured numerous upgrades, including crown moldings, custom cabinetry, and high-quality glass and wood finishes. However, Lennar subsequently deleted these features from their models and online listings, yet failed to significantly reduce the price. When we decided not to proceed with the purchase, Lennar's sales team was pushy and rude, and their realtors seemed to be coached to respond to questions with vague statements. After requesting the return of our earnest money, we were met with a series of delays and excuses, including the claim that the check was in the mail. Eventually, we were asked to sign a release form, which we later discovered was actually a form authorizing Lennar to retain our earnest money. When we brought this to the attention of the manager, we were informed that the form was legally binding and that our money would not be returned. As a result of this experience, I would advise others to exercise caution when dealing with Lennar, as their business practices appear to be dishonest and misleading. 1 starI purchased a new Lennar home in ******* in 2022, and many of the tiles have developed hairline cracks. It appears Lennar failed to install an anti-fracture membrane between the subfloor and the tile. They attribute the cracks to normal settling, but after speaking with neighbors, I learned that others have experienced similar issues due to the missing membrane. Lennar closed my ticket without providing a resolution or explanation, other than stating it is not covered under warranty.Review fromRegina M

1 starI brought a home from Lennar Homes and I starting to regret it; after having snow I notice my driveway and pavement started crumbling. I put in a warranty order in to my surprise was told I should have my driveway sealed. Like this is not my first home purchase I never brought a new home without everything being sealed correctly. Why would I need to sealed a driveway after all the money I paid at settlement on a new home. Lennar need to build the homes correctly rather than fast, Also Lennar needs to honor there warranty's & stop trying to blame the customers. I was also told by ***** ******** that leaving snow on the driveway & using salt can cause this, I can assure I as the homeowner did not leave snow on my property or use harsh chemicals like salt. Lennar blaming the homeowner instead of honoring the warranty is crazy this was not my first complaint since going to settlement on May 31st, 2024. Lennar building these homes too fast & when a homeowner has a work order they try to put the blame on the homeowner who worked very hard to purchase their home. My ******************* isn't the only one crumbling my next door neighbor is as well, Lennar needs to do better this is a disgrace & very unprofessional. I need Lennar to honor the warranty & do what's right!!!Review fromalexander v

Terrible Warranty Service – Stay Away from Lennar! I recently purchased a brand-new home from Lennar for over $400,000, and within one week, several shingles fell off the roof. When I contacted Lennar’s warranty department, I was met with extreme unprofessionalism from a representative named Taylor Giddings. She was rude and dismissive, immediately blaming the issue on a storm and refusing to honor the warranty. Despite my efforts to explain that I had a professional roofing inspector confirm the shingles were improperly installed and not glued correctly, Taylor told me it was the roofing company’s responsibility and abruptly closed my ticket without resolution. When I asked for it to be reopened, she outright refused. Lennar’s so-called "warranty protection" is a ****. Even though my home inspection at closing verified the roofing installation, Lennar refuses to take responsibility. It’s been two days, and my ticket remains closed, with no response from their team. I am now consulting my lawyer regarding this situation. Do not trust Lennar! If this is how they treat homeowners in their first week, imagine what happens down the line. Save yourself the headache and buy elsewhere!Review fromDaniel W

1 starUse caution. The layouts are well-designed, and they throw a lot of shiny objects at you. The devils are in the details. Going through the sales process is meant to be seamless and easy. They take you to homes, explain their processes, hold your hand up to the finish line. You know who to talk to and when. Then the smoke and mirrors fade away to display reality. The closing processes are muddled with multiple points of contact to the point where you aren't sure who to talk to if you have a problem. The concrete will be cracked throughout the home. Our carpets were stained with mud, we brought this up several times and was eventually told that it was discoloration caused by lighting. After closing, you are then shoved over to more points of contact that do little to alleviate the issue despite their repeated attempts to tell you that the warranty will take care of ANY problems you have from the construction process. That mud showed its ugly face as soon as the carpets dried further and the lighting changed. Now Lennar refuses to clean or replace the carpets because we already accepted the home based on deceptive and misleading information. Do your best, look over every inch of these houses. If they don't have the problem fixed for you, DO NOT accept the home until they do. If that still doesn't lead to the issues being corrected, buy somewhere else. There are plenty of homes on the market.Review fromjade c

1 starRausch Coleman cuts corners when it comes to building homes and leaving in known flaws to save on cost, my new house has been plagued with HVAC issues since we purchased it 2 years ago, they have not fulfilled their obligation set in the 2-10 homebuyers warranty and have made no attempt to remedy the situation. i wish i could give zero star review, it should be a crime to sell a house of such low quality for the price they sell them for.Review fromPierre S

1 starI am done with Lennar. I closed escrow on my first condo just a month ago and regret it. I plan to sell my place and move on from this building disaster as soon as I can.Let me tell you how poorly constructed my brand-new condo is. The quality is abysmal. I can hear EVERY SINGLE FOOTSTEP my upstairs neighbor takesmorning, noon, and night. The ceiling insulation is practically nonexistent, and the walls feel like theyre made of paper. Its as if Lennar cut every possible corner to maximize profit while ignoring basic livability. This level of noise transfer is unacceptable for a brand-new building. I expected modern construction to meet a certain standard, but instead, I got a glorified apartment with a mortgage. If youre thinking about buying a Lennar home, think twice. The issues Im dealing with make it clear that they prioritize speed and cost-cutting over actual quality.Ive learned my ****** the hard waynever again with Lennar. Look elsewhere if you value peace, quiet, and actual craftsmanship in a home.Review fromCara C

Lennar is not a good home builder at all. They contract with trades that save them money and cut corners. Quality is extremely poor. They dont hold trades accountable for quality of work. Very few actually value their work in the home. I have found several building code violations as well in less than a year of owning. **************** is subpar at best. ******************** regularly attempts to deny responsibility for defects and building code violations.Lennar Homes, LLC

1 starLennar Homes is a GARBAGE builder. They did such an AWFUL job cutting corners on our house that we've had HORRIBLE roof leaks since DAY ONE. The "warranty" period, which was a joke, ws nothing but Lennar pointing fingers at other people while water would POUR through our roof and INTO OUR DUCT SYSTEM in addition to our walls and closets. Now, after just FIVE YEARS, I've had to put on a brand new roof, I'm have to completely replace the duct work upstairs because of the years of water damage they wouldn't fix, and I'm going to have nearly my entire upstairs demo'd to remediate water AND MOLD damage from these HACKS. When all is said and done, the repairs will have cost us well over 150k. Lennar is THE WORST and I would rather live in a box under a bridge before I chose to live in one of their garbage homes ever again.
