      I attempted to cancel a flight that was 2 weeks away and spirit charges ***** per flight [round trip] which equates to *****. In addition, Spirit keeps your money as a credit for future flights [even if you don't prefer to fly with them]. The scheme is to get you to buy a higher price flight within 7 days of departure and they are banking that you don't cancel within 24 hours. So, I lost close to 400 dollars for a flight that I was forced to cancel due to business.

      On August 12, 2022, my flight was canceled by Spirit. The next available flight was two days later, which ruined my weekend trip. Spirit issued me a refund and a voucher. However, when I tried to use the voucher for a different trip, it did not work. After speaking with management, Spirit issues vouchers that only cover very specific types of flights, so essentially the vouchers are useless. I wasted so much time and money (hotels, taxis to the airport, etc.) with this airline and I advise others to not do business with them.

      They'll take you for every dime they can! I modified a reservation, as we had an emergency, delayed my flight by 1 day. They charged me a $99 fee for each ticket, which is nearly double the cost of just buying brand new tickets!!! As I stated we had an emergency, I did not realize this until I checked in on the app. I assumed the total was so high because of the baggage fees, come to find out the rep did not add the bags as requested. **************** is pointless and not helpful in the least unless they're taking your money. I hope with this merger done things change for the better

      Here is my horror story. Flying back from ***** on July 12. I bid and won exit row seats for the flight back. 1 hour before flight left, it was delayed. The gate attendants said we would get a hotel voucher but the front desk attendants denied this request. **************** on phone said we should get voucher, but the request was still denied from the front desk. Tried to sleep on beaches in airport. Plane finally boarded about ***** hours later. Found out the plane was different from original plane and did not have as many exit row seats. So we paid for exit row and didn't get it. We sat on Tarmac for two hours for a couple new repairs that had to be made. Now Spirit is saying that I didn't pay them for an exit row seat. I sent them a screenshot of the credit card statement showing payment. Since I sent it to them 5 days ago, they have failed to respond to any requests for reimbursement. They also gave us vouchers for food that did not work. Avoid them if you can.

      I have spent 7 months, 74 phone calls (, messages unanswered) 97 emails, trying to locate 1 piece of luggage on a flight from ********* to *******, *******, January 31-February 10,2022. This was a mistake by ********* but rectified by them next day. Spirit in ******* ******* claims didnt receive my luggage which I have documentation from ********* they did! Where it went no one has a clue.. I have followed all instructions from spirit to the letter! Claim ID, filled out all property contained in luggage including an interim report which is items I purchased in ******* as I didnt even have a toothbrush. I have sent pictures of my luggage scanned by ********* my boarding pass with a Luggage tag also a baggage irregularity receipt from *********, pictures of receipts All items that I sent had to be notarized and sent certified which I received back from Spirit Airlines resolution department signed and I had to do this twice as they claim all was lost. Sad to say The spirit makes it very hard for the consumer to contact anyone including corporate as they have no phone numbers or emails, only way to contact is through a portal which has been done too many times to no avail. As of last week through the portal I was offered not even half of money for items in my luggage, claiming I had things in my luggage that were not covered like electronics ,cosmetics, gift card which I did not even claim because I produced a receipt for it, also interim items and Depreciation of my items. At this point i am disappointed by spirit but not shocked. I feel I have been lied, deceived, Ect by spirit. This is not acceptable by a corporate airline! I am hoping to come to some compromising decision and be able to recover some of the items that were in my luggage including a piece of luggage, as I have spent too many hours, e-mails Ect on my own trying to find out what happened which should have been done in a timely manner from spirit!       on August 5th, 2022, my flight was canceled. I got the notification email at 1am in the morning via email. I went to the airport the next day (The 5th of August, the day that was supposed to leave) and the Spirit agent did not have any information regarding the following:Why was the flight cancelled?What are the next steps?What can Spirit do to fix this issue?How can Spirit make this right?The Spirit agent was under a great deal of pressure since there were so many unhappy customers. The agent not only informed me that the flight was cancelled, but that my connecting flight from ********* to ***** was cancelled as well, for which I found out later that was indeed a lie. I tracked the flight and it arrived just fine in ***** on time.My original flight that I purchased:********* to ********* (Flight # NK2227) Departure time: 9:25am (Cancelled)********* to ***** (Flight # NK3167) Departure time: 13:12 (This flight was not cancelled, however I missed it due to the fact that my first flight was cancelled! I was lied to at ***************** by the Spirit agent stating that this flight would also be cancelled)The Agent offered me a refund, however the refund would be processed and returned to me within 7 10 10 business days, thus not allowing me to try and purchase a ticket the day of my travels. This is not acceptable. I paid you guys the day I purchased the ticket. Spirit did not have to wait 7 to 10 days to receive my money. I was traveling to ***** to visit my mother (I have not seen my mother in 12 years) and I was also going to my grandmothers 82nd Birthday party. (I have not seen my grandmother in over 20 years)Not only did I miss seeing my mother, but I also missed out on the family reunion and my grandmothers 82nd Birthday party. I do not feel that it is very professional of Spirit to send email a cancellation notice at 1am in the morning, and then turn around and say " We can not do anything for you!!" Your refund in 7 to 10 days.

      What a disgusting company. I was forced to cancel a reservation a month in advance. I got the run around for a least 1/2 hour, then was offered a $31 credit(good for 90 days) on a $287 charge. I can't believe the *** would allow a company that does this to people, to do business in the * S.

      Many problems with this airline. Do not fly with them. This airline is a scam. First, they said you could bring in one carryon and at check it they measure and if ok they let you take it. My small carry-on was cleared, but the boarding person did not allow it at the gate and charged me $84 for a handbag. Then my return flight was canceled 9sonething this airline does pretty frequently) and they made me buy another ticket, and on top of that, they charged me their travel agency contractor charge. To make things worst, they refunded only 1/3 of my original key. These guys are just scams. Do not fly with them

      I logged into the Spirit App. at 4:00am to check our flight status. The app showed the plane as on time and departing at 7:10am on August 5th. Once in the Uber on the way to the airport, I checked the app again. The flight still read on time with the date of August 5th. However the seats were changed. I prepaid approximately 390 for three seats in the front of the plane for the bigger seats. However there were only two seats showing at the front and my minor son (age 11) was no longer in the same row with us. My son was all of a sudden unassigned. Once we got to the airport, we stood in line to check in and once I gave the agent our confirmation number she said your flight is for tomorrow. I immediately showed her the app as well as the flight confirmation email. She then stated the flight was cancelled and you were rebooked for tomorrow. I asked when was I going to be told and she stated I should have gotten an email. After informing her I did not get an email she then stated since you booked 3rd party it was their responsibility to inform you of the flight change I also informed her that the app never updated either. I also informed her that my minor son was no longer in a seat that I purchased. She stated the seat was not available and asked if I wanted a refund for the seat as if I was aggravating her. I stated yes and began asking questions about the cancellation. She then stopped answering questions that I had and began typing. She did not attempt to look for another flight nor did she sympathize with the fact that we checked out our hotel early to get to a flight we never received flight change information for. I asked to see a manager and she stated Im busy let me finish typing. She called the manager from another station so I could not hear what she told the manager and the reason she or he was requested. However after waiting 15 mins. for the manager to arrive We booked on another airline and got back in line and canceled the flight with Spirit.
