Spirit Airlines has the worst customer service I have ever seen. My son flew up on Alaska Airline to see us in Washington. He carried all his clothes and toiletries in a backpack that he was able to on the Alaska flight with no problem. We made the horrible mistake of booking his flight home on Spirit. The person at the gate for his flight had him put his bag in the carry on measuring device to see if his carry on met the size limit, which it did. The attendant then had him turn it sideways and try to put it in. Obviously it would not fit, so the made him check his backpack at the gate and charged him $79. The flight was delayed for over two hours so he missed his connecting flight in Las Vegas. He was given a hotel and dinner voucher and booked him on a flight out the following morning, but they lost his luggage ( turns out they forwarded it to Sacramento without telling him). When he check in they had him booked to LAX instead of Sacramento. He talked to a customer service person who accused him of lying about Sacramento being his final destination saying it was LAX. He requested to talked to a manager (Collette at desk N48 in Las Vegas) who also accused him of lying. He subsequently missed the morning flight due to the check in fiasco and they offered to waive the $99 cancellation fee since he missed his flight (even though it was the ineptitude and rudeness of Spirit’s customer service representatives that caused him to miss the flight). He said he would go book a flight on another carrier to get home and was told that in that case he was going to be charged the cancellation fee. He was finally booked on another Spirit flight at 6:49 that night, 24 hours after his original flight time. This entire affair has been a nightmare for him and our family

Unreliable! Spirit Airlines cancelled my flight scheduled for 8:48AM at 4:23AM the very same day of the flight. This flight had been booked over a week in advance. When I called, I was told it was due to weather. I called the Pensacola Airport to verify weather issues. The Pensacola Airport confirmed there are NO weather issues. Spirit Airlines has been cancelling flights last minute from this airport at its own will. This is NOT acceptable. Spirit Airlines is unreliable and not responsible. My daughter and I were relying on this flight. She has a mandatory school camp tomorrow morning that she cannot miss. The best they can offer was a flight tomorrow night. We cannot accept a flight tomorrow night when the camp is already over. We are now on panic mode. We were just told yesterday by some strangers that Spirit Airlines has been notorious for cancelling flights in Pensacola. Action needs to be taken against this! It is unconscionable for Spirit Airlines to offer flights and then just cancel them because it’s not convenient for them.

Absurd experience! I purchased 2 Spirit airline tickets on 21 June 2024 for a 13 July departure. The tickets were $219 through Spirit directly. I received a confirmation email at the time of purchase and no other correspondence. On 12 July 2024, I went online to download my boarding passes and received an error message. I then contacted customer service and was told that my tickets had been cancelled on 28 Jun 2024 due to possible fraudulent purchase. However, I never received a cancellation email from Spirit, nor did my credit card alert me for a potential fraudulent charge (as I automatically receive such texts). In addition, typically my credit card would be locked if there is a suspected fraudulent charge. I did discover that on 28 Jun 2024, my $219.00 had been refunded to my card, again this is not how a fraudulent purchase is typically handled. During my call to customer service, I spoke to *******, employee#******, he instructed me to go to the airport (which is over an hour away) and simply present my credit card used in the original transaction and they would reinstate my tickets at the original price. I verified with him that this would be the process because we dont live close to the airport and would incur toll fees. He stated that this is the process and I also received an email from spirit that evening with the same instructions. At 3:30am, my husband and I got up and headed to *************. Upon arrival, we went to the ticket agent told there was nothing they could do and ******* had not given us accurate advice. We spoke to a manager and he reiterated the same message, there is nothing we can do. We were told we could purchase new tickets at approx $900, however, there was only 1 available. Spirit did us dirty and the trip to the airport cost us $11.00 in toll fees plus $4.00 parking fees, gas and our time. Plus to get on a plane today to go celebrate family birthdays cost $843 on *****. Spirit do better.

Contacting the **** Flight was delayed dt issues with the air conditioning resulting in many people missing their connecting flight. They unethically coded it as a weather concern despite telling passengers it was the air.

Spirit airlines customer service is evasive. I received an email stating I needed to bid for a seat. I called customer services and was told if I didnt bid for a seat I may be placed by the restroom. Then I was told to pay for my carry-on luggage. I paid for it and received an email conformation. Viewing the email, it stated paying for luggage prior to or on check-in dated would be $55.00 and at airport would be $*****. I was charge ***** so I called and ask why I was charged $***** when I was a week away from flying. The only answer was its the automation. So, I canceled the flight and now I found out they dont give refunds just discounted credit.

Negative stars, and infuriated with Spirit Airlines. Flight was from ********* to ************ with a stop in *******. Pensacola to ******* was delayed for hours. Due to Spirit not being even close to on time, the connecting flight was already gone from ******* before the plane ever landed in *******. Spirit would only refund the flight from ******* to ************, even though they could not complete the agreed to original flight. The $167.58 flight ended up costing $397.45 more in order to get back to ************. Bottom line is never fly Spirit, and save money by booking a more competent airline from the start. It ended up costing a lot more, passenger sleeping in the airport and an almost 24 hour trip in the end.

I requested a full refund and was denied.I was delayed from the beginning of the trip. I had a transfered missed it due to Spirit delay and the timing that's not accurate with the time it take to go through Customs. They rebooked my ticket for the next day. Making it 12 hours later from my original departure from transfer location. Making the trip longer on the new ticket. I had to purchase another ticket from another Airlines. I still had to wait over 6 hours but it was a earlier flight and it only took 3 hours to get home. Compared to the the new ticket Spirit book would take me over 6 hours with a layover and it left later that morning. This company timing is not accurate and something need to be done about it. I want a full refund. **************** denied and said they got me to my transfer. But, Spirit was delayed from the beginning. They didn't take in to consideration we had to go though Customs. The timing was just off. Spirit did not get me to my destination. I was struck in a unfamiliar city with very little money. I did my part. I just want my full refund for fare and baggage. It was a disaster.
