      My flight has not even departed and I'm already dissatisfied! I had other flight options, some that were even less expensive. I chose Spirit because it was very clear on my departure and return flight time options, which was VERY important; as I only have a long weekend to spend with my sister for her birthday. Booked the flight 6 months in advance. Less than a month later, I receive an email saying that my flights have been changed...both ways! Including a layover on return. I paid extra to fly direct AND now I'm departing 2 hours later. Not to mention, my return flight is now leaving 5 hours earlier AND subjecting me to a 2 1/2 hour layover! Here's the kicker, when I went into the website and chose the same flight that they have changed my to, guess what!? $40.00 cheaper!! So I'm paying an extra $80.00 (myself & another passenger) to get hosed on what I had originally purchased! Just to add a little more insult to injury, you CANNOT SPEAK TO SOMEONE! Everything is through robo-text via phone or web. I don't travel much, and I have never flown Spirit before; but rest assured; I will NEVER book with them again! I'm just holding out hope that everything else will go smooth, but given the other reviews I'm now seeing; it doesn't look very promising.

      Thievery they canceled the flight and don't refund seat upgrades or put you on a new flight I spent $450 on 2 adult round trip tickets and got $56 flight credit unexceptable

      On October 1, 2023, I took a flight from *******, **, to **************, ****, for a photography job at *********** and **************************. Upon arriving in ************** at 7:20 pm, my luggage had not arrived; it was left in *******. Without clothes, hygiene items, medications, or photography equipment, I had to stay an extra day in **************, waiting for the next flight arriving at 7:20 pm the following day. This forced me to change all my plans.I followed the procedure suggested by the Spirit Airlines staff at ********************** and was given a claim number, with the assurance that any expenses would be compensated. The airlines irresponsibility cost me $494.96 in expenses, and I lost a workday valued at $1,400. Since October 1, I have tried to resolve the situation. Today, after nine months, I contacted an agent through the chat, who only offered me $50 as a courtesy and said they were not responsible for luggage handling.After several attempts to contact them, I was told they could not do anything more and that there was no physical address to present my complaint. Additionally, I was informed that my membership in the ************ and the use of their credit card did not offer additional benefits. I felt mocked and robbed. I plan to give the airline bad reviews on all possible platforms and spread this mistreatment through my work as a media producer.My advice is to pay a little more and use a well-rated airline and always buy travel insurance.

      i wish i could rate less than one star. abysmal customer service, zero people skills, no empathy. if you have the choice to fly spirit or not go somewhere at all, id suggest the latter.

      Im giving them one star because the plane didnt crash. I book my family of 5 tickets from *** to ***. The night before our flight I received an email from them stating our flight was cancelled. I didnt see this email until the following morning. I looked at flights and the same flight was had booked previously was available for a much higher price. I called spirt and they rebooked us with a 5 hour layover. We had 30 minutes to pack for 5 people to include kids and leave for the airport. As we were waiting for our new flight I seen our old flight status on the screen stating it was on time. Had this been a weather issue or something out of their control I would not have had an issue. The reason my flight was cancelled was because they wanted to resell our tickets for a higher price after we already booked them. This is bad business! The stress at the beginning of our family vacation could have been avoided with better customer service and less greed on this company.

      I booked a flight through Expedia for a spirit airline flight from ********* to ******* . Spirit charged my credit card twice so I called Expedia, spirit and my bank. Expedia cancelled one of the flights and spirit cancelled the other. Now my daughter and I have no flight. Spirit is saying they cancelled because the bank is questioning the transaction. The bank never cancelled and cannot cancel the flight. They only file a dispute. Meanwhile as of today both charges are still reflected on my statement. I told spirit It was totally their fault to bill my credit card twice and they needed to reinstate my flight. This was the same day that they cancelled. I spent 2 full days going back and forth with them. They rebooked the same exact flight but now want me to pay $220 extra plus another $60 extra luggage fee which they refuse to refund or apply to the new booking. Thus is ridiculous. I asked a supervisor to allow me to speak with a manager as I believe any reasonable manager will understand but instead he directed me to their help center which states this issue can take 3 weeks and we fly out on Friday . All I am asking is that they reinstate the flight for what I already paid. Apparently they are not willing to resolve this the easy way and if they dont I intend to take further steps as the documentation and recorded conversations will prove its spirits error.

      Spirit airlines customer service is evasive, to some extend uncooperative, and ill informed. Agents on the Spirit Live-Chat and Phone are hard to get and often provide contradictory, confusing, and misleading information. Closing a Spirit Account is really difficult (almost impossible). There are regulations that require all online service providers to make account creation and deletion equally simple. Not for Spirit Airlines. They appear to be obtuse about any services they provide.

      If I could give zero stars I would. We flew from Cancun to fort Lauderdale and had a connecting flight to Louisville. Our flight was delayed by at the least 30 min. We didn't even have time to get off our first flight before our connecting flight boarded and we missed it. They refused to recheck our bags because our connecting flight had already closed the doors. We are stuck in fort Lauderdale from 3 pm until 7pm tomorrow and spirit refuses to pay for a hotel because the flight "wasn't delayed". When it clearly was delayed and even if it wasn't we would not of had enough time to re check our bags and make it to the next flight. They should have never had that as a connecting flight. It was there mistake and they refuse to help cover our room. I am military and I will never use this airline again and I will tell all our military family and friends to never use this horrible airline because they only want your money and they don't care about there customers period.

      Please pay more money to get less of a headache. Ive tried the chat, they werent helpful. Ive called they werent helpful. I have a two year old toddler and they refuse to sit me next to her. I intially bought her a seat and when i went to go purchase a seat (mind you two seperate tickets) because they couldnt put her on the same ticket as me. When i went to go purchase a seat next to her it was all greyed out. There excuse was that I was sitting in a exit row. But on my ticket shes a lap child. Even if she was a lap child why would they put a two year old in an exit row. The customer service could not help me at all. So instead they ended out conversation. As for the customer service on the phone , she couldnt change my seat next to my daughter. I havent taken the flight yet, but Im telling you Im dreading getting on this flight. Whatever you do guys please stop flying with SPIRIT. Spend the extra money to get better airline. This is my second issue ive had with them within two months.
