1 starWhen I landed in ******* to go through customs, I saw that my luggage was damaged. Whoever mishandled my suitcase in ****** or at the ***************, Spirit needs to take responsibility and pay me. As soon as I received my suitcase I took a picture and filed a claim. I received a confirmation number and was told that I was gonna "receive an email shortly." Never received an email. Waited a few days on the email, all I got was ****eting Emails from Spirit. Reached out to them about a week later because they said I had 21 days to file a claim, and was told to file a claims report and I told them that I did. Waited another 2 weeks and still no response. 7 weeks later, I contacted them, finally after 5 hours later, they were telling me the same thing when I tried to check my status. So I called and talked to someone and she walked me through the steps on how to file ANOTHER claim and mention that I didn't know that there was an extra step I had to take after reporting my damage. A claims person contacted me saying she was unable to reimburse me because I went over the 30 day **** and I explained to her that I had trouble with filing and basically there was no exceptions but sorry that she can't help me due to airline policy. I paid over $150 for luggage fees and they refused to pay me for what their workers did. I asked for her superior to contact me by calling me and got a response saying it'll take up to 10 days. That's been since Jan 3rd, it's the 15th and have yet for someone to contact me. Somebody's gonna replace to suitcase. She mentioned that me going past the deadline to file was the policy, I told her me receiving an email saying I was gonna receive an email SHORTLY and NEVER got it is part of the guidelines also right? So this been an ongoing issue since November. I can't call Spirit by phone because the phone system is down. I guess because of the mass amount of complaints they've been receiving so they disabled customer service.Review fromJohn D

1 starOn our flight from ******* to *******, we arrived at the gate and asked for our asdigned seats..There were atealdy printed with seats assingments 2A and 2C..At time to board, the boarding pass didnt go through,so the agent took them to fix them then gave them back to us with seats 31A and 31B..when i asked him why, he said " because you didn't pay for the seats" and starting giving us a lecture.. He was rude,obnoxious and LOUD..he finally admitted andbsaid he was sorry for changing the seats, but kept in telling us that we didnt pay for them...we didn't ask for the ***** seats l, they were preassigned to us. It was a humiliating situation and everyone was stairing..And when he heard telling my husband i was going fo complain, he took my boarding pass and made a note on my account *** told me that he added a note since i was goimg to complain..When we got to our seats in the plane. He cane back and told a lady that was waiting that she can have one of the seats upfront..and looked at us and laughed, and when i was i was asking why he walked away and said you didnt psy for the seats, the lady didnt either...when i asked for his nane again, he wakked away and laughed.This is been truly a TERRIBLE situation, and we didnt ask for these seats..this agent needs ro be repremanted..i want to hear a feedback soon please..This happened at gate D12Review fromAlex N

1 starWe had a flight to ************, ** on 12/31/22, and our connecting flight from ******* was canceled while we were on our first flight. When we got off the plane at 12:45 we immediately went to ask for a refund because we decided to make a reservation with another airline. The representative told us we would receive a full refund for the flights and our luggage. Cool. I later checked my email and saw that they tried to rebook us on a JetBlue flight that left at 1:35 when we got off our first flight not even an hour before so I'm not sure how they thought we were going to be able to catch that with the customer service being so long. Then they sent us meal vouchers as compensation which we came to learn were only good to use the day of 12/31 because we tried to buy food on our way back home on 1/5 and they didn't work. It is now 1/11/23 and I still have not received a refund for this reservation. When I called to get a status update they told me it was still processing even though the email I originally got said it would take up to 7 days. This experience was very disheartening because it felt like Spirit did not care about the well-being and even the safety of its customers. There was even a 16-year-old boy on our flight and if we hadn't suggested he get on the flight we changed to, he would've been stuck in ******* overnight. I understand traveling during the holidays is extremely hectic, but if Spirit Airlines is going to be this unreliable they should at least be quick to give people's money back.Review fromJaja C

1 starUp until now I cant still move on to the nightmare this airline given to us.but after reading all the reviews with exactly the same experience it's now a proven fact that this airline is a legit SCAMMER and i wonder why still allowed to operate.Overbooked their flight and will rebook the poor passengers without consent and if you are not attentive enough to keep up with your emails then the big chance of not reading it, then boom you will end up missing your flight and charging you for rebooking fee. They will charge you more instead of being reimburse for the hassle they gave you.It's funny but it's not funny how they obviously fool people.There must be something why this airline is not being sued. Tried repeatedly to get a refund on luggage I got charged for twice & only got a runaround. $256 more than the ticket couldnt even talk to a real person kept getting live chats They may be the cheapest but they make up for it in other ways!!!Review fromBrenda P.

1 starI'd like to know why Spirit Airlines is still allowed to conduct business in the first world country such as ************************. Does anyone ever care when a business establishment is ripping off people? I don't think I am the only person who has a horrible experience dealing with Spirit Airlines. This should be named Scammer Spirit Airlines. First of all, they have very poor customer service. If you try to contact them, you'll be on hold for at least 4 hours. This is not an exaggeration. Then if you try to cancel a flight, you won't get your money back. They will give you airlines credit which is useless. Who would want to ever use that airline credit after your bitter experience dealing with this incompetent business? The sad part is that poor people who has very limited funds tends to be the victim of this scammer airlines. When poor people like myself is trying to find a good deal for flights, this is what we fall for. Cheap flights? So you think! They will charge you for seats, carry-on luggage, and insurance. By the time you added all their extra hidden charges, you're not saving any money at all. It's the same as if you would just purchase a ticket from a reputable airline company. On top of it, they cancel the flight at the last minute without any explanation at all. My elderly relatives were stranded at a hotel in Orange county near the airport. Spirit airlines cancelled their early morning flight. Now it's costing me more money to quickly book them another flight.What I need to know is, what does it take before they actually investigate the legitimacy of this business? Why is this allowed? 1 starWorst experience ever! I had to travel back from PR to ********** on 12/27/2022 and they cancelled my flight for 4 days. The schedule me to leave on 12/31/2022 at 730 am which they end up cancelling too. I had to spend another $365 too book a flight to return on time to spend new years with my kids. Now they don't care that by them rescheduling me for roue days I end up loosing money because I couldn't work as incurred in other expenses that wasn't planned. I think is not fair that airlines can do whatever they want without compensating the passenger. They never were clear as why it was cancelled. One operator stated that did t had staff and a other stated it was the weather when it was like 45 degrees in **********. They were just playing games. They made me loose money, time , had extra expenses and they only thing they said is sorry. I was lucky of not being fired. Never has seen of an airline cancelling your trip for Four days with no explanation. I need assistance to have them make things right.
