My family's experience with Westgate Resorts has been nothing short of a nightmare. What began as a desire for a pleasant family vacation to Orlando turned into a regrettable decision to purchase a Westgate timeshare, which appears to be nothing more than a deceptive scheme. During our stay at Westgate Resorts Lakes in Orlando in the summer of 2021, we were lured into a presentation under the guise of securing discounted tickets to ****** parks. However, we were quickly subjected to aggressive sales tactics by a salesman who painted the timeshare as an investment opportunity for our children's future vacations. Despite expressing our financial concerns and reluctance to commit to such a significant financial burden, we were relentlessly pressured into signing the contract. Despite assurances of its value, we have only managed to use the timeshare once in three years, and the promised availability has proven non-existent. Furthermore, the financial strain caused by escalating maintenance fees has become untenable, especially with my mother-in-law losing her job, leaving us trapped in a predatory contract. It is unconscionable that Westgate Resorts would exploit families in this manner, and I urge others to exercise extreme caution when considering any dealings with this company.Central Florida Investments, Inc.

I am an owner with Westgate and it has been a regret! Sales people kept vital information from us and lied to us to secure the sale. When I sent in a letter to cancel just months later they did nothing and would not let us out of the contract. Both myself and my wife have had multiple surgeries and health issues causing our life to change dramatically months after becoming an owner on top. We told Westgate about all our struggles but they ignored me for months just to tell me they won't let me cancel. No regard for our health or lives in general. We signed a contract based on what Westgate's agents told us which turned out to be all lies and now they will not let us out or do anything about it. We are stuck with the fees permanently and they don't seem to care. We've seen nothing but unprofessionalism and zero customer care. I hope everyone else out there knows to be careful and avoid the timeshare scam.Central Florida Investments, Inc.

Unfortunately, our dealings with Westgate Resorts have been nothing short of fraudulent, marred by deceit and misinformation. We just wanted to enjoy a relaxing vacation, engage in some retail therapy, dine out, and return home with pleasant memories. Little did we know that our plans would be rudely interrupted by a phone call from ****, who insisted on discussing a matter of utmost importance concerning our account. Despite our reluctance, we agreed to a meeting, but this was only the beginning of our nightmare. It was during this meeting that **** dangled the tantalizing bait of a "better deal," convincing us to upgrade our accommodations for more rooms. When we asked about the possibility of incurring additional fees or costs, **** categorically assured us that our existing contract was no longer in effect, rendering any such fees obsolete. He went on to promise us a much better deal for the same price, with only a $500 upgrade fee, and all other costs supposedly covered by the equity from our current contract. We reluctantly succumbed to the pressure, all the while, continuing to seek reassurance that there would be no additional fees, to which **** assured us there would not. However, as the contract signing process unfolded, ****'s demeanor significantly changed, and he displayed evident signs of nervousness trying to quickly get the documents signed, leaving us feeling very uncomfortable. A long story short, fees increased tremendously. We do not have the offers that was promised to us and we have tried to speak with someone about this and have been completely ignored. It is a SCAM. Do Not sign up or go here. They are taking advantage of innocent hard working Americans who want to take a vacation with their families. We cant even take a vacation for the next couple of years because of it. They have destroyed our funds and future vacations for the next 5 years.Central Florida Investments, Inc.

This was done with a female closing agent, after **** had left the closing room prior to the beginning of the signing and did not return until you were done. Therefore, this claim is purely verbal and unsubstantiated in nature.

Despus de negociar con varios agentes, acordamos una compra *** fue reducida para *** pudiramos realizarla. Cuando firmamos el contrato, nos apresuramos a firmar rpidamente. Se nos pidi firmar sin explicar qu estbamos firmando. Ni siquiera nos mencionaron los cargos adicionales *** nos costaran y desde entonces tenemos el saldo de la hipoteca y las tarifas de mantenimiento para pagar. We are writing a review to address the egregiously deceptive and predatory tactics we were subjected to byWestgate Resorts. In2017 my wife and I were in Orlando for our honeymoon. We were approached by Westgate representatives who offered us free amusement park tickets and free stays at several resorts. Although we declined, they became quite aggressive, and, after several attempts, they finally convinced us.The nature of the presentation shifted quickly from informative to coercive. They delved into fantastical claims about how what they were selling was more than a timeshare. They insisted their product was akin to a real estate investment, and that it would only increase in value over time and that we could rent out the timeshare to make enough income to pay it off entirely. That was a flat out lie. We were also told that we could travel to any Westgate location at any time with no out-of-pocket costs. Finally, the salesman insisted that none of this transaction would have an adverse effect on our credit. Lie, Lies, and more lies.Despite these claims, we declined the offers. The only reason we attended the presentation was to receive the amusement park tickets and we made this clear from the beginning. However, despite three separate rejections they refused to take no for an answer. When we declined an offer, they came back with more pressure. We were told that we could cancel our contract at any time or sell the timeshare for a profit. This gave us a false sense of security, which ultimately led to us agreeing to purchase. We wouldnt have agreed to anything had we known that we couldnt cancel our contract anytime. If you are reading this review as well as other reviews, you will see that our stories are fairly consistent with the others, and the lies and mistruths are a common theme. If you are thinking of investing in Westgate Resorts, I suggest that you stand down and walk away. Dont go for the free vacation or tickets they offer you, its a trap!Central Florida Investments, Inc.

We apologize if you felt uncomfortable or pressured in any way while attending our sales presentation.Since there *** have been offers presented on a first-come, first-served basis,depending on the available inventory, the representative *** have expressed some urgency regarding the offer. However, you were never obligated to remain past the agreed-upon time to receive your incentive or to purchase a timeshare.Ultimately, you have the right to inform the sales staff or closing officer of any discomfort to ensure proper action is taken or refrain from purchasing if your concerns are not addressed to your satisfaction. While Westgate is a sales-driven company, at no point were you forced to stay or purchase a timeshare.Ultimately, the decisions to accept the incentives in exchange for attending the sales presentation and to purchase a timeshare were yours to make as a consumer.
With regard to your concerns about the alleged investment potential of your timeshare, and renting the property, please be advised that Westgate requires all owners to complete the Acknowledgment of Representations (AOR) document. This is to eliminate the possibility of any misunderstandings with regard to what *** have been presented to you, which *** have influenced your decision to purchase. If you wish to rent the property, please know that you *** do so at your discretion;however, please be advised that your signatures and initials on the executed AOR document confirm that you purchased this property for personal use, that there were no representations made regarding investment or resale potential, and that Westgate does not have a rental or resale program to assist you. Additionally,the Public Offering Statement discloses that the purchase of a timeshare period should be based upon its value as a vacation experience or for spending leisure time, and not considered for purposes of acquiring an appreciating investment or with an expectation that the timeshare period *** be resold.
Please also be advised that our review of the recorded closing confirms that you were made aware of the exchange fees associated with utilizing your timeshare outside of your contracted usage rights. Please understand that, just as with any entity in the travel industry, all booking of travel is based on availability, except for Fixed-Week owners. Please review the executed Proposal Review document for full disclosure regarding this matter.
As for your concern about credit reporting, please be advised that when you purchased your timeshare in 2017, Westgate was not reporting transactions to the credit bureaus. However,Westgate made a decision multiple years later to report transactions to the credit bureaus at its discretion as is its right to do so. Please be advised that our records do not indicate that there is any negative credit reporting associated with your account. If you have documentation that would support your claim that there is negative credit reporting associated with your account, we encourage you to submit this to the email address shown at the bottom of this letter so that we *** review it and perform further research into this matter. In the absence of such documentation, please be advised that we are unable to address this matter any further.
With respect to the rescission period, please be advised that a rescission period for contract cancellation was provided on your executed Contract for Purchase and Sale document. This rescission time is mandated by the state to allow new owners the opportunity to review their signed contract documents as well as their purchase decision, and if they change their mind, they *** cancel the contract. Westgate did not receive a written request for contract cancellation within the time provided; therefore, your request to cancel your contract is respectfully denied.
Our research has concluded that you were given full and fair disclosure of the purchase terms and conditions. As a consumer, it was your responsibility to review the terms of the purchase to ensure they fit within your financial means and travel needs. For Westgates and your protection, the contract documents signed and initialed by the parties are considered expressions of our mutual understanding of the purchase transaction. Please know that Westgate too is bound to comply with the terms of the executed contract documents, which constitute the only verifiable evidence to establish the terms of your ownership. With that being said, it is Westgates position that your contract is valid, enforceable, and it will not be cancelled.

When we first encountered Westgate Resorts, we informed the salesperson who approached us that we couldnt differentiate between Westgate and a regular timeshare. He claimed that Westgate was much better because of its global footprint. I began questioning him about trade-in possibilities for different events throughout the year, and he stated that it was an effortless process. All we had to do was deposit a week, submit a request of where we wanted to go, and Westgate would take care of the rest. Renting out the timeshare for a profit if we werent interested in traveling in a given year was a claim that heavily influenced our decision to buy. The sales team also applied a great deal of pressure and deceptive sales tactics to sway our decision. We rejected four separate offers from four different salespeople. Each time we declined, a different salesperson would approach us and increase the pressure. From 2008-2022, we had only used our timeshare twice and never to the destinations we were interested in. This contradicted the claims of Westgates global footprint that we were sold on. In addition to the lack of availability, we also found that we couldnt rent out the timeshare like we had been promised. Whenever we called to raise our concerns, we were given every excuse imaginable. We were told that our Interval membership needed an upgrade, that we needed to make our reservations sooner, and then, finally, we were told that we needed to upgrade our timeshare. We have been swindled and victimized by this company through a series of bait-and-switch tactics. Everything that we were promised has turned out to be a pack of lies, and we have paid dearly for a timeshare that we are never able to use.Central Florida Investments, Inc.

Shedding light on my experience with Westgate Resorts. My timeshare has had a negative impact on my life, from hindering my ability to obtain a home loan to paying exorbitant fees that should not have been imposed on me based on the inability to actually use the timeshare.Despite being promised that I could contact the company representatives at any time, I have found it extremely difficult to get in touch with them. Moreover, they have failed to provide me with their business cards or personal cell phone numbers as promised. This lack of communication and transparency has made it very challenging for me to address my concerns and express my second thoughts about the timeshare.I have repeatedly contacted these representatives via phone calls and texts, but my concerns have gone unanswered. At this point, I am no longer interested in the vacations that were promised to me. I have no intention of using the timeshare and I am disappointed that Westgate Resorts has been unwilling to cancel my contract despite my numerous attempts to reach out to them.It is worth noting that I was initially interested in a timeshare in *********, but was unable to afford it. Instead, Westgate Resorts offered me a timeshare in Florida that I could eventually transfer to a ********* timeshare after I paid off the Florida one. However, this offer has proved to be a source of frustration and financial burden for **** am deeply dissatisfied with the lack of responsiveness and transparency from Westgate Resorts. As for your claim that you attempted to contact Westgate within the rescission period to cancel your contract, please be advised that our records do not support this claim. As such,please be aware that we require documentation that would support your claim that you attempted to contact Westgate within the rescission period to cancel your contract in order for us to perform further research into this matter. In the absence of such documentation, please be advised that we are unable to address this matter any further.

Please understand that your execution of the contract documents at the time of the purchase contradicts your claims that full and fair disclosure was not provided. On March 25, 2021, I attended a 2 to 3 hour presentation to purchase a timeshare with the Westgate company. Representative ***************************** was the one who received ** and made the presentation. In exchange for attending, we were offered free tickets for a yacht ride. Westgate employees have been trained to be dishonest and unscrupulous. They are salespeople who fit exactly the stereotype of an ambitious salesperson only concerned about their own pockets. Not only were we lied to throughout the entire sales process, but we were also put under intense pressure to purchase a Westgate timeshare. One of the most important reasons we want to cancel this timeshare contract is that we feel truly cheated. Another fraudulent aspect is that we were never informed that, in the event of death, our children would have to take care of the maintenance payments. It was only mentioned to us that they could enjoy the property, although my children were not even present at the presentation. We were also not informed that the maintenance fee would increase. We were assured it would be a fixed payment. In addition, the contract is completely written in English, a language that we do not master. Another situation of disagreement is that on June 28, 2021, I was contacted by the company Resort Access Network located at ****************************************************************** informed me that they were calling on behalf of Westgate and that they had given them my details. They offered me help renting my timeshare week, assuring me that I would receive more than double the initial investment. However, they charged me $1050.00 for advertising services and subsequently never answered my calls nor was I able to get my money back. I would like to know why Westgate Resorts sells confidential information to third parties and exposes us to scams. I am attaching a copy of the $1050.00 dollar transaction as proof. For all the reasons mentioned above, we wish to cancel this timeshareCentral Florida Investments, Inc.
