Avoid. The marketing is a lie. We were told we would be givena 9 day 8 night condo vacation. The reality was, that in order to book, we had to send $100 up front, then it would cost a minimum of another $199. And if it WAS in a condo, then there were various condo fees. This could have ended up costing us $600 to $1000 for a "free" vacation in return for listening to their presentation. We were also gifted a prepaid card as another incentive. This card included the return of a $20 deposit we paid to ensure we came to the presentation. This card was to have expired at the end of November. Fortunately I decided in September to check the balance as I was certain we had not used it. When I logged in, I was informed that this card would in fact expire in Mid October due to some issue between the issuer and Westgate? So, had I not checked, and not used it before mid October, we would lose the whole amount ($170).
We decided to cancel the trial we purchased because these issues made us uncomfortable with Westgate, and they did not make it easy to do, nor refund monies already paid, even though we did not use any of the weeks we bought. AvaidCentral Florida Investments, Inc.

Dear Mr. *******,
First
and foremost, we regret to learn of any inconvenience you may have experienced
involving the gift card and the condo getaway certificate; however, please
understand that the terms and conditions for use of such are governed by a
separate company altogether.
Mr.
*******, regarding your attempts to cancel your Vacation Traveler Package,
please know that your attempts at cancellation, regardless of why, do not hold
any bearing as the package was not subject to cancellation. Nonetheless,
Westgate offered cancellation and you accepted this offer with no refund.
We
thank you for the opportunity to be of service. Our
hope remains that you will remember Westgate Resorts for your future vacation
needs or if you consider vacation ownership in the future.

This place was a disaster. The room is sooo small. My family of 4 couldn't stay, the pull out bed was pretty much just a non cushioned mattress where every spring could be felt. We only had 3 pillows and when I called for a pillow at 1230am, I waited for an hour. I called down to just ask if I could come get one and at this point the front desk person Mike changed his attitude and tone getting frustrated with me. He said there is nothing there and that is just have to wait. Waited over an hour and didn't get to bed until 2am. I immediately started searching for a different place. Once the pull out bed was out there was no walking room to get from kitchen to bathroom that was also small. I had to park a long way from the building because it was closed off for construction. We didn't even space for suitcases and there was no dresser to put clothes, one window wouldn't close all the way. I was told to contact sales in the morning who then gave me a card to contact corporate. They wouldn't refund the other 6 days and the only way to get ahold of the supervisor was by email. Then there was the "indoor" water park. Parking was blocked off for construction also. Contractor works on the building in the morning and guests come back from 2-10. Section of building was exposed to the cold air. People were in sweatshirts, pants and even saw a lady with a blanket. The main hot tub was luke warm, only one og the slides worked, water was freezing. As you can tell nothing about this place is worth spending money on. Only nice place I'd the main lodge. The restaurant is southern comfort and when you walk in it is just lined with southern comfort alcohol bottles, not family friendly.Central Florida Investments, Inc.

ZERO STARS!! Westgate is a lying scam. The people are rude. They lied to us with a brand new vacation cabin in gatlinburg that we never get to stay in. And the maintenance fees that were only supposed to be 300 to 400 have went to 900 dollars this year. Then when you are on vacation they want you to take a day out of your vacation and come and let them feed you a crappy salad and over cooked pasta and try and pressure you to Upgrade your timeshare. NO THANKS!!! We dont even want what we have. ZERO STARS!!Central Florida Investments, Inc.

After almost a year of being owners, we have paid more than $8,000 for a timeshare with Westgate that we have not yet been able to. USA, there is no availability as promised and it has become an economic burden. It is now obvious to us that Westgate scammed us and that their timeshares are not what they tell you when they sell them to you. We were initially promised affordable luxury trips, but the reality has been terrible even when they were selling us, it was long and tiring. We felt pressured and in the end agreeing to the terms was a costly mistake, the final straw was discovering an outrageous 16% interest rate on our loan, which was never properly explained in the sales process. The increase in maintenance fees only compounds our frustration. It is clear that Westgate's practices are more focused on profit than on customer satisfaction. It feels like fraud. In retrospect, I regret getting involved in Westgate risort. I would advise others to think twice before considering a timeshare with them. They are selling these timeshares illegally now all I want is for them to cancel the timeshare

I was in Vegas two months ago. I book a hotel not knowing I had to go in a tour. They forced me to go on the tour or tour or I would not get my 250$ back. Then I had to say I was single & lie that I make 50,000 a year just to go on the tour. Then they wouldn’t let me leave till I signed the papers to buy something. After I. Our experience with Westgate Lakes in August 2014 has gotten worse over the years. We were tricked into a high-pressure sales deal that promised a lot but gave us nothing. After nine frustrating years, Westgate Resorts hasn't cared about our concerns, and we've had enough. Our ordeal began with a sneaky welcome breakfast that turned into a sales pitch to get us to upgrade our unit. They made all sorts of promises about affordability, making money, and convenience, but it was all a bunch of lies. When we signed the contract, none of the things they promised turned out to be true. Booking was a pain, maintenance fees went way up, selling or renting was impossible, passing it to our kids will become a burden for them, and the so-called investment has turned into a financial disaster. We have made countless calls to address our concerns and now we want out of our contract! Westgate Resorts is a dishonest and pushy company that turned our happy vacation into a lifetime of regret and debt.Central Florida Investments, Inc.

We had supposedly won a vacation thru Westgate. We decided to try it out. OMG NEVER AGAIN! We paid them $600 for this 4 day free vacation. When I went to book this vacation it cost me another $175.00 to stay at a place that slept 3 people. It was Ramada by Wyndham in Kissimmee Fla. and they put us up in this totally DISGUSTING motel and when I brought it to their attention they said ohh thats done by an outside form and not our problem. I tried to cancel this stay and timeshare meeting and they said absolutely not you will attend and if not we will charge you a ridiculous amount of money as a penalty for not attending the meeting. I told them do you actually think I would even consider purchasing their timeshare offer? Absolutely not. They also charged us another $55 Resort fee on the way out. Please do your homework before you let Westgate Resorts rip you off. We definitely learned our lesson!Central Florida Investments, Inc.

We were in Gatlinburg and we're trying to get tickets to the sky bridge, and got roped into going to the Westgate resort for a tour, and a free lunch in exchange for discounted tickets. We were there 2 hours it seemed, the food was gross, the guy tried talking my husband and I into a time share, and after explaining to him twice that I had no interest in purchasing a time share and only wanted our tickets, that our time was precious, and didn't want to spend it wasted on listening to them try to con us into getting some timeshare. In the end we became more direct, and blunt and finally got our tickets at a discounted price and didn't finish the stupid tour. Stand your ground and don't fall for all their bsCentral Florida Investments, Inc.

Dear Ms. *****,
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have
experienced due to the length of the presentation you attended and if you felt
pressured or uncomfortable in any way. Please remember that in order to receive
the promised gifts, you were only required to attend the presentation for the
agreed-upon amount of time and had no obligation to remain past that time or to
purchase. We ask for you to understand that it would have been at your
discretion to inform the sales staff or closing officer of any discomfort to
ensure proper action was taken. Ultimately, while Westgate is a sales-driven
company, at no point were you forced to stay. We are pleased to learn that you
received the agreed incentive as promised.
Nonetheless, we are extremely appreciative of your feedback and
for the opportunity to improve. Our hope is that you will consider Westgate Resorts for your
future vacation needs or if you consider vacation ownership in the future.

For thousands of dollars, you too can be the owner of imaginary property you will never be able to use-or get rid of! The sales representatives misrepresent what they are selling you. What they don’t misrepresent, they outright lie about.
I contacted Westgate Resorts about the lies that were told to get me to purchase the timeshare and their response was that my “allegations were too vague.”
I was told there would be unlimited getaways at low prices. I was told these would be anywhere, anytime. This is not true.
I was told I was given a $1500 card that was money to be used toward any hotel or trip. This is not true. Only a small percentage of the credit can be used on a trip based on the cost of the vacation.
I was told the maintenance fees would be $650. The first bill I received was $800 and the next was $921.
None of these is vague. They were outright lies from the sales people.
Westgate Resorts encourages their sales representatives to lie. The liars are protected because the contract says nothing like what you were told, but apparently bait and switch is legal for Westgate Resorts.Central Florida Investments, Inc.

Our Westgate Resorts experience has been a complete disaster. We were lured in by promises of free dinners and show tickets during a high-pressure sales presentation in Las Vegas. The registration process was excruciatingly slow, and the presentation was full of manipulation and half-truths.
What they conveniently left out was the perpetuity clause in the contract, which means our descendants would be stuck with this timeshare indefinitely. The promised benefits of renting out the property turned out to be far from reality.
To make matters worse, we were hounded by Westgate salespeople on three separate occasions, even resorting to intimidation tactics. It's been a nightmare dealing with this company, and we strongly advise everyone to avoid them. Cancelling our contract is the least they can do to make amends, but it's clear they prioritize their shady sales tactics over customer satisfaction. Steer clear of Westgate Resorts unless you enjoy being scammed and manipulated.Central Florida Investments, Inc.
