I used their website to book a golf tee time. I paid for said tee time. I showed up to play golf and the golf course is completely shut down and has been for at least a year. I can’t reach anyone through the website or their partner companies to find out what the heck is going on and why they would sell me something that isn’t available

So I provided my reservation number per your request and I have heard nothing back. I want my money returned to me, and that is the only way this can be resolved effectively.

The consumer was fully refunded on July 23rd, 2023. Refunds can take 3-7 business days to reflect and returns to the original source of payment.

New Policy: GolfPass members redeem earned GolfPass Points towards the purchase price of ANY "Hot Deals" tee time offered by GolfNow, or TeeOff "Deal Times". It also says that this option will be available if there is enough points to get at least a $5 reduction. This works in a very FEW transactions (not ANY) and there is no policy statement about what WILL or WILL NOT work. I have sent screen shots to GNOW about the same course (Manakiki) accepting the points today for the same rate and # players and not accepting it tomorrow. I also have screen shots about other members facing the same problem.

Old Policy: In contrast the old plan was clear. If I spent $100 I got a $10 promo code that can be used for ANY tee time three days in advance (for golf Pass Plus members) or M-TH after 12 PM for free members. THERE WAS NO CONFUSION. There are some courses that did not accept the promo codes and this list is available on the Gnow website. There is no such clear policy for the new system. I have sent the screen shots to the customer service reps and I was promised a call back from the supervisors and NO ONE DID. First was Brittany (sup of Andy) and I am still waiting for (Ziggi, sup of Penny). I am wasting a LOT of TIME trying to clear this with customer service.

As an aside, the customer service in the past was VERY GOOD when there was no confusion about the rules.

Point values for redemption are variable on a number of factors including time of day, day of week, course selection and day booked. This is similar to the variable earnings of Golfpass Points. While the minimum redemption threshold is $5.00, the amount of points required to achieve this does not remain consistent. The threshold for redemption can be a certain amount of points for one reservation and a different amount of points for a different reservation even if at the same course or for a similar cost. As the policy outlining our Golfpass Points Program states, "The amount of GolfPass Points required to meet the Minimum Redemption Threshold may vary on a transaction-by-transaction basis. If the amount of GolfPass Points in your account does not meet the Minimum Redemption Threshold, you will not be presented with the option to apply GolfPass Points at checkout. GolfPass, in its sole discretion, may update the Minimum Redemption Threshold at any time, without notice."

I am rejecting this response because: I have demonstrated I have ENOUGH points to get a redemption in one course but did not get it the next day on the SAME course (MANAKIKI ATTACHED).  Now look at the NEW attachments.  When I made my reservation at ********* this morning,  I could NOT use my points so I used my credit card for the balance.  However, when I tried to book the SAME COURSE for the S A M E time (REPEAT SAME COURSE SAME TIME) I can redeem my points for $5.  What has changed from this morning till now? if your redemption is arbitrary --  SAY SO!!!  AS OF NOW YOUR POLICY STATES THAT THIS APPLIES TO ANY HOT DEAL WITH A $5 MINIMUM.  I HAVE DEMONSTRATED THIS IS NOT WORKING.  Other members have pointed the same issue (see attached).

      Sincerely,

As GolfNow has stated, the amount of points required to equate to the $5.00 minimum varies. It isn't about the cost of the Hot Deal reservation. The Minimum Redemption Threshold for points will vary. The same number of points will not always equal the same reward or Minimum threshold Requirement. It can vary between courses, time, day, costs, etc. Even if the consumer has shown they have enough points to be redeemable for the minimum $5.00 on one reservation, it is not guaranteed to be the same number required for another teetime or even the same reservation at a later time.

I have used TeeOff golf times (formerly EZ Links) for 15 years and during that time I had no complaints. However, over the last 2 months I have experienced nothing but frustration and outrage in trying to make use of their product. Typically I search their email offering, go through the process, step by step, only to get an error message every time I try to arrange a tee time (hope springs eternal???)

I have called their telephone service, and despite their promises to fix the problem and call back, nothing ever gets done. I spoke with a supervisor after getting no satisfaction and despite his promise, he did nothing and never called me back. I have spent many hours over the last 2 months on the phone or waiting for a call back which is quite frustrating.

I booked a tee time for Sunday June 4th, I cancelled my booking today on June 1st. Golf now will only issue me a credit to be used on select tee times. they will not offer a gift card to be used on any tee time and they will not offer a refund to my original method of payment. This is robbery as the "hot deal" tee times is just their way of taking undesirable tee times (middle of the day) and undesirable courses (not quality) and just marketing them at a slight discount. I don't even want a full refund I just want a credit that I can use without restriction.

Thank you for bringing Case #******** to our attention.

We have reviewed the consumer’s claims and understand their
frustrations. Upon booking any Hot Deal tee time, it is advised and posted on
      GolfNow.com that any refunded
amounts will be available as credit to use toward a future Hot Deal time
      booking.

Refunds to the original form of
payment can only be issued to golfers whose tee times were cancelled due to
weather or course closure and have booked regular course times, not Hot Deal
      tee times.

Due to our policy outlining refunds
and account balance usage requirements, the consumer does not qualify for a
      refund.

I am rejecting this response because this is not fair to the consumer, people have jobs, families and other obligations. the lack of flexibility in their hot deal times makes it virtually impossible to redeem (only select courses, later in the day). I'm not looking for a refund, I simply want a credit on account that can be redeemed towards ANY tee time.

      We appreciate
the opportunity to further address the consumer’s concerns.

      Account
credits can be used on any Hot Deal, Sunday through Saturday, or on convenience
fees at GolfNow.com for any tee time reservation, regardless of booking type. The
consumer has an account balance that expires in November so they have several
      months to use this.

      The
terms of our refund policy are linked and displayed upon checkout to ensure all
consumers are notified prior to each transaction. While we understand this wasn’t
the outcome the consumer was hoping to see, we are unable to make exceptions to our policy.

I made a golf tee time with Golfnow on November 24, 2022 (reservation id: *********) which was canceled and refunded to a Golfnow account rather than to my checking account. The refund of $196.97 was only able to be used to cover small amounts of future tee times, $3-$12. There is no way for me to transfer the money from Golfnow to my checking account or debit card. I called and was told that the money could not be refunded to my banking accounts. Their website's chat feature restarted each time I was connected with an associate. Now Golfnow is expiring my refund today May 23, 2023 and taking the balance of $173.88. I want the $173.88 returned to me.

Thank you for bringing Case #******** to our attention.

We have reviewed the details of Mr.******* s concerns and have
researched his previous tee time reservations. He redeemed only small portions
of his account balance, as he wasn’t redeeming them on Hot Deal tee times. Rather,
he was booking normally priced course tee times that account balances cannot be
      redeemed on.

As stated on GolfNow.com, any refunded amounts will be available as credit to use toward a future
Hot Deal time booking. The amount issued to the consumer’s
account balance is an available credit on their GolfNow account and valid for up to six months.

Due to our policy outlining account
balance usage requirements, the consumer does not qualify for a refund.

I went to book golf tee time at Spanaway golf course and when you hit book and then that tee time isn’t available it send you back to booking and if you choose another tee time and that one isn’t available after you hit book GolfNow they at GolfNow charge your account every time you hit book tee time and you never get tee time. They have changed my account 5 times and I never received a tee time,so I called them they told me I had to wait 24/48 hours and they will refund my money. So they are aloud to take your money and you have to wait for them to refund. This all happened on 4/5/23 - 4/7/23,they shouldn’t be allowed to charge you if no tee time was given. Please help

In some instances, the consumer may see “pending charges” during the booking process. This can occur when some banks and financial institutions place a “hold” on their card, which can be for a set amount of funds and may show as “pending” for a number of days.

If the consumer still sees pending charges on their account, we recommend they reach out to their financial institution.

Pending charges are transaction that have not been fully processed. Sometimes when making an online booking through GolfNow, if a teetime fails that required a prepayment, the credit card may place a hold on the funds. These funds have not been released to GolfNow, as there are no reservations tied to them. As a result we can not refund a pending charge; the money is not in our possession. This is commonplace and not an occurrence and not exclusive to GolfNow related purchases.

Golfnow has conflicting policies on cancellations and refunds causing an issue. The scenario is I booked a round in the desert and the forecast at the time of booking on 4/19/23 was 84°. Currently the day before it is now 105° with a heat index of 109°. I contact the course to cancel as there is a policy that says you can get refunded if cancelling longer than 24 hours out. This is deceiving as it goes on to say it'll refund to an account within their system. This account was never created intentionally, and possibly at all, by me and not one I actually wish to have. This does not constitute a refund as I paid cash and do not want a store credit when the first line says refund is available. This is a plainly deceptive policy and one that in no way represents a refund to non users of the accounts. I also was told if I request to delete my account I would lose my "credit" (not refund) and can not use my current email as a guest, which is what I always preferred to do.

Where it gets great is rounds are refundable to the payment method for unplayable conditions on the day of play only, inside of 24 hours for the cancellation policy that permits a "refund". This is done by them contacing the course and verifying its unplayable, which based on tee time and forecast the course was more than willing to provide that information to golfnow before the day of play, however golfnow will only contact the course inside of the 24 hour period crossing the boundary for cancellations. The course was contacted first, verified they were willing to call it unplayable, and transferred the call to golfnow support where it was expected they'd contact the course which did not happen. They insitied it could only contact the course within a half hour of the tee time which clearly negates any 24 hour policy for cancellations when weather is known bad in advance.

My desired remedy requested is to have the account that was implicitly created for me deleted and cash refunded.

      Business Response

Thank you for bringing case #******** to our attention.

GolfNow's cancelation policy for Hot Deal reservations is as follows allows for refunds to the original payment source if the course is closed the day of play. This most frequently is caused by bad weather. Canceling prior to the day of play results in a credit being applied to the consumer's GolfNow account balance. This occurs because we can not verify a course will be closed the day of  play unless it is the day of play.

In addition, we have reached out to the *** **** **** ****** Golf Course where the consumer was scheduled to play before their cancellation. The course confirmed they were open and permitting play the entire day. As such, the consumer does not qualify for a refund.

I am rejecting this response because:

I also wish the account that I never wanted be deleted. I was told not to do this at that time as it would delete the account credit as well.

Also, I was told if I delete my account I can no longer use that email address as guest which is an indication the account wouldn't actually be deleted, but just hidden from access and still stored in their database available for them to use for anything they consider a "business" pupose.

If there is no regulations requiring them to keep my info, I'm requesting a true deletion of my information pursuant to the CCPA, which the information disclosed about account deletion would not comply.

For consumers who wish for the deletion of their GolfNow accounts and data, the consumer must log in to GolfNow.com. From there, they access their account settings. There is an option labeled 'My Data' that allows the request of deletion. There are also additional resources on that page for California residents with rights under the CCPA.

In December 2022, I received a Golf Now Gift Card valued at $250.00 as a Christmas gift. The purchaser did not realize that this gift card could only be used under specific circumstances (reservation of "Hot Deal" golf tee times). Upon receipt, I linked this Gift Card to my Golf Now account so that I could use it when I met these circumstances. During a recent transaction (golf tee time reservation), the Golf Now application automatically used this gift card for a reservation valued at $28.00 even though I didn't make this selection.

Currently, I can't access, view or use the remaining approximately $220.00 balance on this gift card. When I've contacted the Golf Now Customer Service Center, the representatives have been able to view this gift card (verify it's existence); however, they can't apply it to my account or use it to offset any charges. This gift card is essentially useless and of no value because the Golf Now website doesn't recognize it's existence or permit it's use. I respectfully request either a credit on my account or a refund for the balance remaining on this gift card.

Golf Now should not be advertising or selling Gift Cards which can't be support and/or used on their web site.

Booked a round of golf for 3 players on march 28th 2023 for $121.95. Round was cancelled by either golf now or by the course on march 31st (no one has been able to tell me who actually cancelled on the 3 separate times I have called golf now customer service line). I was notified by email letting me know the cancellation was being processed. I promptly called customer service who informed me they had not cancelled it and it must have been the course they would have to investigate and then Call me back. A number of days passed and they still had not called me so I called them informing them that I would like my money refunded to my original payment since I did not cancel and the course was open for play. According to terms/ conditions on the website, they will issue a golf now credit “ if cancelled by me or if the course is closed on day of play” both of which were not the case. They have issued a GolfNow credit which expires in 6 months, I have contacted them again and they were to call me back ( 5 days ago were supposed to call me.. still waiting) I am tired of the run around and feel this is a shady practice to force me to have a golf now credit instead of refunding the money back to my original payment method. I do not ever plan to use this service again after this fiasco and I hope the BBB can get me the result of a full refund to my credit card.

Thank you for bringing case ********* to our attention.

After investigating reservation #*********, we believe it was generated in error. The time is listed as 11pm, which the course has confirmed isn't a playable time and 11am does not exist. Their times go from 10:58 to 11:05 as they have seven minute intervals separating them. As such, the teetime likely removed itself as a recognized error. However, this rare error does not automatically issue a refund or credit.

We have reversed the credit and fully refunded the consumer. Please allow the refund 3-7 business days to reflect on their account. We are also taking steps to ensure errors like these are not repeatable. We apologize to the consumer for the inconveniences caused.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: it has been over 15 days since the funds were supposedly refunded. I contacted my credit card today 5-12-23 to see why the money has not been refunded as of yet and to check on a possible hold. ( as indicated by merchant in the previous response) Discover customer service informed me they have no record of a refund being issued by the merchant. I have opened a dispute regarding this issue which the credit card company has also informed me that the merchant has not responded to the request of my dispute after the 30 day period as required by discover. This is a shady company with horrible customer service. I want my refund as promised, still waiting, just like I am still waiting on a customer service representative to contact me back regarding this issue. I will continue to reject this company until they accept responsibility for the negligence on their part or and issue me a full refund and perhaps an apology for the runaround they have given me just to get refunded. Horrible customer service given for a long time user of the Golf Now booking system!

      Sincerely,

GolfNow has indeed released the funds tied to this reservation back to the consumer. If the consumer had begun the process of disputing the charge prior to our attempted refund, this may have caused a delay or hold on the refund. Therefore, GolfNow will work with the consumer's financial institution to the best of our ability to ensure the consumer is properly reimbursed.

I subscribed to GolfNow last year, and I was unaware that each time I cancel the tee time, I do not get a refund, I get a credit for another "Hot Deal" tee time. Each time I try to utilize these credits, I get a "method not allowed" error. This is due to Golf Courses not allowing the credit as a method of payment, and Golfnow has suggested that I call in and they will book it manually for me. This is not acceptable, I did not purchase this online booking subscription just to have to call in each time for a call center, that is only open until 2PM in my area.

I'd like a refund of the credits I have back to my card, since the program is not working as advertised. Golf courses are leaving that platform, and even the ones left do not accept these credits.

Thank you for bringing case #******** to our attention.

Hot Deal reservations are nonrefundable unless the golf course is closed due to weather the day of play. This is outlined in our cancellation policy which can be located in several places on our site, including the checkout screen before finalizing a purchase. Cancellations outside these parameters result in a balance being added to the GolfNow account of the consumer. The GolfPass+ membership does not override this policy, nor does it suggest a refund will be bestowed in the terms or the benefits of the membership. GolfNow account balances are applicable towards the purchase of Hot Deal reservations and the balance is valid for six (6) months after the date of issuance.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: I do not believe you read through my complaint. The complaint is that the golf courses do not allow for "credits" to be used to purchase tee-times, and therefore anytime I want to purchase a tee-time, I must make a phone call into a call center that closes at 2pm my time. Based on your response, it does not appear you read through my complaint and merely copy and pasted terms and conditions. I will follow up with the Arizona Attorney General if I receive another default response that does not apply to my situation.

      Sincerely,

We are uncertain as to what prevented the consumer from utilizing their credits. Credits apply to Hot Deal reservations and the state of Arizona and courses within it possess no specific regulations against the use of our credits.

After checking the consumer's account, we see that they have recently exhausted all of their active account balance on recently made reservations. We can not refund credits that no longer exist, nor will future credits be converted into a refund if the cancellations take place under our regular policy. Unless the course is closed due to weather on the day of play, account credits will still be issued.
