On 1/24/23 I booked a tee time on the North Shore Golf Course's website. I reviewed the cancellation policy because I knew I might need to change the booking at some point. The website says you need to cancel 24 hours before your tee time.

I canceled about 4-5 days before the tee time. The course requires you to call them for cancellations, which I did. The course cancelled the tee time and said Golf Now will be notified. I asked why Golf Now needed to do the refund and I was told that all bookings go through them. I asked if the booking fee would be refunded and they said yes.

The North Shore website does not tell you that they are using Golf Now for the booking. I thought companies were required to alert consumers if they were being directed to another website. A little time passed and I did not receive a refund so I called Golf Now. The rep said that the Golf Now policy stated that booking fees are not refundable. I told the rep that the website says you must cancel before 24 hours and that it does not say anything about the fee not being refundable. The rep continued to tell me what the Golf Now policy was. I logged onto the website and read the cancellation language to the rep, who told me what the Golf Now policy is. I shared with her again that the Golf Now policy is not on the website. I asked to talk to a supervisor or manager and she said one wasn't available. I asked if they could call me back or I could wait on hold until they were available. The rep said there is no one else that I could talk to. I explained the situation one more time and the rep didn't care.

I'm attaching screen shots of the cancelation policy on the emails and the website. I have to imagine it is illegal to hold consumers accountable to a third party's policies if they are not shared.

GolfNow charges a convenience fee on all reservations made on our platform. They are only refundable if the golf course is closed the day of play. Our policy in regards to the convenience fee are listed under our FAQ. We will provide a direct link to the FAQ as well as attach screenshots showing the policy for our convenience fees.

North Shore Golf Club is responsible for the formatting of their website and app, including the verbiage on how information is presented. While they utilize GolfNow's software for their booking needs, this is not underlined directly on their website. The consumer has been fully refunded for their convenience fee as a courtesy.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I encourage GolfNow to work with many of their partner courses because the formatting and presentation of info is the same, which tells me the courses are using a template provided by GolfNow. For example, courses in Orlando with the same issue include Celebration Golf, Orange County National, Deer Island, North Shore, Falcon's Fire, and many more. It's disappointing that GolfNow keeps deflecting and denying the issue versus trying to fix the issue. I appreciate the refund but will take my business elsewhere in the future.

      Sincerely,

      March 2 2023,

I reserved a Florida course tee times for a group of four people at a cost of nearly $488. I made the reservation one month in advance. Two of the players from Pennsylvania had to cancel their travel plans so I called golf now 3 weeks prior to the tee time to cancel my tee time. Only then did I find that rather than apply the credit to my credit cards they gave me a $488 credit on Golfnow that expires in 6 months if I do not use. I do not think this is an appropriate business practice and I will be warning everyone about this. I’m not sure if I will ever get a credit on this money!

If this is in regards to reservation **********, the consumer has already been refunded as of 3/6. Please note that this is a courtesy as our policy states Hot Deals reservations, which the consumer had, are only refundable if the course is closed the day of play. As refunds generally take 3-7 business days, the consumer should have already received their refund.

I booked a tee time through Arizona Golf Resort on February 14th, for February 17th. On February 15th, 8:30 AM, I called Arizona Golf Resort and canceled the tee time. Golfnow had already charged my credit card for 238.26$. The course canceled the tee time, but Golfnow is refusing to refund the charge, claiming that I hadn't canceled the tee time. I have a record of calling the course on February 15th. They did not inform me of any requirement to contact Golfnow as well at the time of cancelation. I have talked to both Golfnow and the course, to no satisfaction.

I paid $24.34 to GolfNow to reserve a tee time at Cobblestone Golf Course on the 17th of January, 2023. This was the day I reserved the tee time, not the day I was planning on playing. Their policy states that if the course is closed due to weather you may be issue a refund and this was the case for the day I had booked to play. The only issue was, I was never able to cancel/ request a refund as the never gave me a confirmation email of my transaction. I have tried to reach out to them via the only email resembling customer support I could find but its been over two weeks and no reply. It seems like this is a common issue for this company. So no effort has been made to resolve this issue because it seems GolfNow prefers to not provide anyway for you to contact them with any discrepancies. I would just like my $24.34 back. I have spent far too much time trying to figure out how to contact them.

Cobblestone Golf Course has confirmed they were open and playable at the time of the consumer’s reservation. However, the reservation belongs to the course and is subject to their policies, not GolfNow’s. Cobblestone has approved a refund of the consumer’s deposit, and GolfNow is refunding the transaction fee as a one time courtesy. The consumer will be refunded $24.34 back to their original credit card. Please allow the refund 3-7 business days.

On Thursday January 5th,2023 I ended up booking a tee time for 3 people at ******************* course here in ***********, ***** for Saturday January 7th, 2023 at 12:20PM. When cancelled days before, they said they would issue a refund but only credited my account for the amount ($192.75) in which the amount can only be used for Hot Deals on their website which is highly unlikely given the high demand of the Hot Deals. I have tried to book Hot Deals since, and every single time the tee time is no longer available so the only remedy here would be to issue back my refund so I can go about my days. There customer support is outsourced and is of no help given certain policies instructed by Golf Now LLC. Please remedy the situation by issuing refund for the full amount to my bank account from my Golf Now account and as a long term solution please revise the refund policy for your business. This is clearly a common issue judging by the complaints on the BBB page.

Thank you for bringing case #******** to our attention.

The consumer booked a Hot Deal reservation. Hot Deals are nonrefundable unless the golf course is closed due to weather. Hot Deal reservations are credited to the consumers account if they are canceled 24+ hours in advance of the tee time, Tee Time Protection was purchased on a Hot Deal or if the consumer is a GolfPass+ member with at least one of their ten (10) free Tee Time Protection credits available to use. Due to this, the consumer does not qualify for a refund. As compensation in accordance with our policy, the consumer received an account balance valid for a future Hot Deal reservation. The balance is available for six months after issuance and the available balance of the consumer is not set to expire until July of 2023. We do understand the demand for Hot Deals is great, which can result in sold-out bookings for them. However the consumer still has ample time to find a reservation in which to use their credits.

Golf Now and Teeoff ( both the same company) issue reward dollars to use for future purchases as a incentive to book through them . These can only be used to book " hot deals" -- at better than usual prices. I have continually experienced a situation where I try to book the hot deal time the computer reports " checkout error" When I call Golf now for help they say that they will " contact the course for an override" Then golf now ultimately calls me back and says the " override was denied by the course " or " The golf club blocked the tee time" This is not accurate I call the courses and they advise that the times are there and able to be booked by Golf now In the last 3 days I contacted 2 separate golf clubs that I had attempted to book and whom I had had unsuccessful attempts and who were reported to me by Golf now as having refused the booking . In my most recent contact ( today January 4) with a golf club in ******* who were accused by Golf now as not honoring the hot deal booking I was told by the pro shop that golf now had NOT called for an override or at all , and that the in fact the desired time was still on the books as available , The course explained that in fact no override was needed and that the requested time was a time that the club had offered to Golf Now . The course advised it was required to offer 4 tee times a day ( presumably in return for advertising That particular date and time ( and in fact the next 3 days at the same time) were " golf now times" for which the course was awaiting bookings It appears clear that golf now in fact is not allowing its customers to book and to savethemselves the expense of customers getting a preferred deal and also getting to use their reward points . All of the checkout error problems are occurring for ******* bookings and I have verified directly with the club pro shop that Golf now/Tee off are not being accurate in blaming the club for not honoring them

Checkout errors can occur for several different reasons; the most common one being unavailable inventory due to communication errors. This happens as a result of the course's tee sheet software not synching fast enough to match actual availability. While checkout errors are common, we are working constantly to reduce these and improve the customer experience. When these errors occur we do contact the course to request an override. This override can be approved or denied based on the courses discretion and policies. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The response does not address the facts. If there is a computer sync problem that requires Golf now staff to call for a override then this computer sync problem is occurring with at least 5 courses that I have called. That problem would seem to be with Golf Now who should not advertise "deals" and promote their business if their infrastructure is faulty. But more to the point I do NOT accept that the Golf now staff are actually MAKING override calls -- I have contacted two golf courses who advised that they received NO call from Golf now -- that the times were still in place and available. I believe that Golf now is simply ignoring the problem nd not following up . I can't say whether this is based on a direction from Golf Now management or from a case of the follow up staff not doing ter job. What ever the reason the golf now system is broken and does not deserve our business

      Business Response

GolfNow and our associated properties, subsidiaries, and technologies are not infallible. Our teams are working to improve consumer experience in every department. Notably, checkout errors and their occurrences are a more frequent and varyingly complex issue we are working towards resolving. Not every circumstance that causes these checkout errors are the same and the attempted solutions may also yield different results and success rates. We again apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Thursday December 29, 2022. Confirmation number *********. My friend and I booked a round in Mobile, AL just after Christmas. It was an hour drive from where we live. When we got to the course, we were told there was a multi-day tournament and the course was closed. It was a busy golf day, and we couldn't get a tee time anywhere else. I called a nearby course, and they said the same thing happened to about 20 golfers the day before. Obviously, we weren't the first ones to have paid for a round of golf at a closed course. I called GolfNow and waited on hold for 30 minutes. I spoke with a representative who I had trouble understanding because he had a very thick accent and there were multiple dogs barking in the background for the duration of the call. He was able to refund my money after he called the course. I asked him for some type of credit because we drove an hour (each way) and lost a day of golf. He said he had nothing to offer. It was a waste of gas and time. I think golfnow needs to be more proactive in preventing instances like this, and they need to more reactive when things like this occur. Good customer service would have been for golfnow to find us another place to play near our location at no additional charge. Instead, I got my money back with a "sorry, too bad" response.

We do apologize for any inconvenience this caused the consumer. We strive to ensure reservations offered on our website are accurate to the courses availability. As a result, we can extend to the consumer three(3) $20.00 promotional vouchers as a courtesy. These codes are valid on Hot Deal bookings on GolfNow.com, Monday-Thursday, 12pm and later. The codes are stackable and will expire 365 days after the date of issuance. If the consumer accepts these codes, we will send them to the consumer's preferred email.

I logged into the Grand Prairie, TX Tangle Ridge golf course website a couple of hours ago and used their on-line tee-time reservation system to make a tee-time for next week December 29, 2022 at 11:20 am. As it turns out I had to cancel the reservation. I called the course and canceled the reservation. They informed me that because Golf Now handles their on-line reservation system, I would have to seek the tee-time booking convenience fee ($10.78) refund through them. I called Golf Now customer service and they refused to give me a refund for the convenience of making a tee-time through a website service they provide to the course. Nowhere in the billing portion of the website was there any indication that the convenience fee was not refundable. Especially for a tee-time one week away that had just been made. Golf Now is a big enough company that they should not have to line their profits with web site scams like this. I have been a Golf Now customer for years and on/off member of their various annual promotional levels. It's difficult to accept Golf Now treats long time customers in the fashion much less any customers. Refunding me $10.78 should be no big deal to them. Customer service also refused to just credit my Golf Now account with a gift card credit of that value to be used next time I utilize one of their golf specials. Changes that Golf Now should make are clearly label that a tee-time reservation system is provided by Golf Now not the course itself. Also, anytime a fee is to be charged and will be non-refundable it should state that on the web page next to the fee. Unbelievable a national company like this has to generate income across state lines in this unscrupulous fashion. I realize some corporate type will probably respond with a boiler-plate reply referring me to a fine-print 40-page terms & conditions document absolving themselves of any responsibility. We'll see what happens.

I enrolled in Golf Now over 60 days ago (likely closer to 90 days). They promised a $40.00 coupon (or discount code) to Taylor Made golf company along with the year membership. The coupon was to come to me after sixty days had passed (presumably hoping consumer will forget or to make it harder to get a refund from credit card company?). Anyway, sixty days passed and I have called twice, which was time consuming. Each time the rep on the phone told me I was in fact entitled to the $40 coupon/code and each time they said I would receive it; they would take care of it. It has now been over a week since the second time (with the rep having told me it would be emailed in a couple days) and nothing has shown up. I start to think it is a scam.
I want this coupon/discount code NOW or a full refund on golf now or a $40 credit refund, NOW.
