Why won't BBB let me select 0 stars? Holiday Inn Club Vacations is a terrible product--I would call it an absolute scam. We paid to "become owners," of the Gatlinburg property when our kids were 5 & 7--mostly because the sales pitch we signed up for lasted WELL beyond the 2 hours we expected and our kids were dying of thirst and hunger with no relief in sight. We were not able to book at the property that we had "purchased and ownership interest" in--EVER as owners. We paid off our "note" in full in two months and were extorted annually $700-$800 in ill-explained fees that would grow in penalties when we tried to ignore them. NEVER, not one single time were we able to book a room/unit at the Gatlinburg property AS OWNERS; however, we were to book using Holiday Inn One Rewards for the dates that we had requested AS OWNERS. It was infuriating. It was absurd. It was a scam. Holiday Inn One Rewards is a quality loyalty program--great benefits what the program promises is delivers accurately--Holiday Inn Club Vacations, on the other hand is staffed by sales reps and customer service reps who do not understand what they are doing or what their parent corporation does or they would all walk out. It is disreputable and they should be investigated by local and federal authorities for fraud. The "resorts" are poorly-maintained, unattractive condominiums in less-than ideal locations.Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

Our members have lots of vacation
options, including now 32 resorts, plus over 7,700 resorts with RCI and over
6,000 IHG hotels. With only 84 units, our Smoky Mountain resort is in
high demand, especially during holidays and school breaks. We’re sorry to
hear you were disappointed in the options available during your time with our
Club and wish you great success with your future vacations. Thank you for
sharing your comments.Review fromRyan C

1 starI hate Holiday Inn Club vacations! Do not sign up for their timeshare presentation! I showed up for the presentation (while on vacation in Orlando) and they would not let me attend it because my wife wasn't there. She didn't go with me on this vacation!!! They then charged me $528.14 for a hotel I was staying at (which was supposed to be free once I attended the presentation), but the bill for this holiday inn was only $233 plus $29.14 tax, for a total of $262.14. I was over charged by $266!! First of all they should have let me attend their dumb presentation, and when I do everything they requested then they overcharged me by more that double what the hotel cost was!! So mad I will not be staying at another IHG hotel ever again. I'm also calling my credit card company and reporting fraud.Review fromKevin M

This site is for people who like to complain. I rarely read a review from anyone who has something nice to say. I feel it is my duty to do this. This company has been around since 1982. My family purchased in 1983 and we have used it almost every year to go to Orange Lake. When we didn’t, we went to places like Hawaii, Aruba, Montana, Scottsdale, Mexico, etc.
As I sit in Gatlinburg on vacation again, I write this review to tell the world that this product has been fantastic for our family. We are taking our third generation on vacation and without this, I know we wouldn’t do half of what we’ve done.
Most complaints I hear are about non owners who took advantage to a timeshare vacation package. They are upset because they weren’t given the penthouse suite for their measly $249 for three days. They are mad because they their sales person tried to sell them something (which is their job)!
Well here is some positive press HICV, keep up the good work putting families in great vacations together! Here’s to another 40 years!Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

We are a family of military veterans and it disgusts me reading reviews online that Holiday Inn has scammed other veterans as well, perhaps we are a targeted group of people for defending this great country?
Holiday Inn told us our points will roll over if we don’t use them in a particular year. However, when it came to the end of the year, we assumed our points accumulated since that is how it was sold to us. WRONG, they were nowhere to be found. So, when we called to ask, they told us they do not roll over our points unless we pay a fee. So why do the salespeople lie about this? To get our money? Why lie about all the fees that we would find out about later? I’ll tell you why…so they can use YOUR points that YOU paid with YOUR money so they can rent them out online to every travel website and take OTHER people’s money.
One thing I have learned about Holiday Inn since being an owner with them is that they will do anything and say anything to get a sale. Be warned and avoid them like the plague!Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

We are incredibly thankful for the men, women, and families
of our military for their service which often means time away from home and
loved ones. Our club membership has several different ways that military
families can use travel to make the most of their precious time together. A
member of the management team will contact you soon. We take your concerns
seriously and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.Review fromThelma K

I've been an owner of 2 properties with Holiday Inn Club for years. I was misinformed on numerous occasions regarding benefits, taxation, yearly fees to name a few. Recently I've been trying to transfer one of my properties to my nephew as I'm now retired and don't use the resorts that much and can't afford having (2) yearly maintenance fees (~$5,000). I've tried unsuccessfully to be sent the Quit Claim Package since Jan 2023 without results calling every 2 weeks for updates. Supposedly from the numerous reps I get at their deeding dept, the QCD package had been sent in March which never came and after escalation of my request, sent out 5/17/23 for which as of 6/12/23, never received. I've previously changed the deeds twice in the past without issues but now can't get any truthful response. Also you can book my owner rooms for less money than I'm paying. We are on our first family vacation as owners. The one hour meeting ended up taking 6 hours and I have a 3 and 1 year old that I couldn’t leave to get to in that time. There was miscommunication about papers etc. and ended up wasting a whole day being there from 730 AM - 2 PM. Another day this week the power went out across the whole resort for two hours and we were unable to swim. It was in the 90s and my children and my nephews were unable to stay cool. My parents stayed in East Village on the 6th floor and the elevator has been out for 4 days now. One of the people in their room has arthritis and has had a very difficult time. One of my guests found a snake in her room Saturday morning and I called. They said they were going to send someone out, but when I called my guest about 6:00 she said that no one had been by. I called again and they said they showed a work ticket saying pest control did come by. The resort is beautiful, but I feel like I should be compensated somewhat for the amount we’re paying to vacation and not being able to relax the whole time.Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

Deceiving practices , not being honest or up front.
Just a business full of con sales people only there to rip off people,
Shame for Holiday inn to be associated with, and transferring calls to vacation
clubs, Seems that the office of Better Business Bureau does not do much
either.Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

I was contacted on June 7 by a (supposedly) representative of Holiday Inn regarding a recent booking to return to a Holiday Inn Express property in Bend, Oregon. He w anted to ask me a few questions about my satisfaction with staying at Holiday Inn, and how they could improve that satisfaction level. After completing the 5 questions, he transferred me to someone else, who I now understand was NOT part of the Holiday Inn organization, but someone with the unaffiliated HICV organization. A very nice young man who pitched the 4 day/3 night stay at one of 10 resort locations in return for attending a 2-hour time share pitch. He assured me (several times) that the $249.00 upfront cost was FULLY REFUNDABLE (though I don't recall if he specified within what frame of time that could apply). I called the 1-888 number he provided approximately 7 HOURS after paying him through my PayPal account $249.00 (which again--HE TOLD ME was "fully refundable") to ask for a refund of that purchase. I was told, but the equally delightful agent (initials CM) at HICV that the $249 could NOT be refunded unless I completed travel to the resort, after which all but $100 of the purchase would be refunded. The initial person I spoke to made NO MENTION AT ALL of a refund being contingent upon completing travel to the site.
I'm VERY unhappy about this, and even though there is allegedly no connection to the Holiday Inn Corporation, I'm incensed that they would allow me to be exposed to this misleading business practice. I want my $$ back.Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

When it comes to timeshares, avoid Holiday Inn Club Vacations. My experience with them has been an absolute nightmare. It all started with a deceptive cold call offering a 2-night stay for $279, which seemed like a great deal at first. However, once we attended the 1-hour presentation, the pressure tactics began. This wasn’t our first time at a presentation like this. The salesperson tried to convince us that a timeshare with Holiday Inn was a “lifelong vacation solution” and showed us enticing destinations and benefits. But when it came to discussing the numbers, the initial offer was ridiculously high, and we of course promptly rejected it. Instead of respecting our decision, the sales team continued to push us, offering lower prices, and making false promises about building our credit and profiting from real estate. After hours of intense pressure and manipulation, we reluctantly signed a contract, thinking it would be a cost-effective way to vacation. Little did we know that our troubles were just beginning.
We soon discovered that the availability of dates, locations, and points was extremely limited. The promised flexibility and options turned out to be a mirage. Desperate to salvage something from this debacle, we ended up paying a fee to transfer our points to IHG, but we lost a significant portion of their value in the process. Throughout the year, we were forced to pay for vacations out of pocket because our timeshare proved to be utterly useless. The financial burden keeps piling up with monthly payments, maintenance fees, and hidden membership fees!
To add insult to injury, when we attended what we were told was a member update, the meeting was just another round of sales pitches and false assurances. We were coerced into signing another contract, with no transparency about the total cost after years of interest and fees. The promised benefits never materialized, and our points fell short once again, leaving us feeling betrayed and deceived.Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

Holiday Inn timeshares are a scam. We attended one of their presentations for a “free” vacation which was anything but free. We endured hours of different salespeople applying high pressure and misrepresentations to coerce us to purchase into their program. After saying no and asking to leave 3 different times, a 4th salesperson came to the table we sat at to tell us their product was an investment and would increase in value over time. We were also told there were no other fees or expenses except the loan they were offering but as we found out later, there are all kinds of fees, not the least of which is the annual maintenance fee that never goes away. They also told us we could use our points at any Holiday Inn property, which is not true. We were told the resorts were private but later found that we could book units for much less than it costs us as “owner” on dates and at locations that were not even available through our ownership. We have had this thing for 7 years and have only been successful in getting reservations with our points 2 times, yet we try many times each year only to be told nothing is available. Their customer service is non-existent, and they have totally ignored our requests to make this right. Holiday Inn is not a company to be trusted!Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated
