      If there is one review you read, I hope it is this one, so you aren’t subjected to utter misery. Silver Lake Resort and Holiday Inn’s sales staff conspire together to con hard-working people out of their money. Buying a timeshare with them may have been the biggest financial failure of my life, but the decision was made based on the assurances the sales staff provided…which were lies! Everything my wife and I saw and heard during the presentation sounded amazing... if only any of it were true. Thus far, we have paid almost $10,000 for the timeshare and have not been on a single vacation. So much for easy booking and luxury vacations. Then I found out that the property is not as exclusive as we were told. Anyone can book a room without owning it, and for much cheaper! This is completely absurd!

      The good news is, I did not get hoodwinked, after having experienced every single manipulative psychological trick in the book to get my family to sign up for Holiday Inn club vacations timeshare. Then they gave us $200 cash and 25,000 “points“. It turns out you can just buy these points. Yes, the very points that they promise to give you if you join the Holiday Inn club vacations program. So for $40,000, they will give you 200,000 points a year. But don’t forget, you owe $2000 a year as well in annual fees. Oh, it turns out the $2000 in annual fees is actually the cost to buy the points. So what is the $40,000 for? Someone has to pay the sales people! That’s you! You are giving the salesman a good living, but if you don’t want to give the salesman a good living then simply wait until the points go on a massive 80% discounted sale which happens a few times a year, and spend a couple thousand dollars to buy points, and there you go, you just saved $40,000. What can you do with the points? Well, no one will give you a straight answer. We did walk in and go to the shop, to see what we could buy with points, and for 20,000 points we could get a small plastic dog bowl. Does that give you a good idea of what these “points“ are worth? I just saved you 40 grand, you kind of owe me. Please find my contact information and send me a thank you gift. I do deserve it more than the sales person who takes three hours of your life and tries to manipulate you in every way conceivable.

      Me and my wife surrendered the property we had with orange lake because of financial situation we had . After a month of having the property . Holiday inn resorts elected to put the info on our credit report after discussing with them prior about having zero balance . No our credit report is showing $9000 balance and now holiday inn resorts is refusing to work with us .. such a bad customer service they have. ????

      It was the first hour we checked into our room. We were just about to put my 2yr.old down to play on the bed and my niece and nephew stopped me and told me that one of them got cut by a chip of glass on the bed.We checked both beds in bedroom # 2 and there are broken glass pieces not just on the beds but also on the floor.We called the front desk, and we were advised to file a report they told us that they will send security to do it. Security didn’t show up until after an hour.I made several attempts to resolve the issue with the hotel staff before the security comes in and wait for them to move us to a different room to ensure the safety of the kids, but they didn’t do it.sand when security came, we showed him the proof of injury and glasses that were found in the room,even after that, they didn’t even move us to a different room nor sent the housekeeping to change the bed sheets,instead they just send the sheets so we can change them ourselves.I tried calling the front desk again, they claimed that they dont have the access on the security report, I was told that someone will be calling me that day Unfortunately, I did not receive any follow-up from the hotel staff, and the was not resolved. I was extremely dissatisfied with the hotel staff. Despite my attempts to resolve the issue, I was left with an uncomfortable & unsafe room.This is a very serious matter. Someone got injured ,it is very clear that the hotel breached its duty of care to take reasonable actions to protect me and the kids from harm while staying at this hotel.They should’ve remove us from the room that has the broken glass pieces that already injured one of the kids. The hotel was negligent in failing to discover & remove the glass from the hotel room. The room should’ve been inspected prior us checking in.I have paid $448 for this stay. I don’t think it’s worth it. Management is worthless! I called multiple times ,they always put me on hold for an hour waiting for a mngr to speak to

      We have been owners for a long time and all we can say is how horrible of an experience Holiday Inn's timeshare is. We were taken on a tour and kept there for hours, without being able to refuse. They would bring in different people one after the other until we said yes. The salesmen would NOT take no for an answer. They told us that we could use our time in many places but when we wanted to go to Florida, they said we would have to pay extra. The availability was really low and the maintenance fees were crazy. If you try to use any “free” trips they give you, they will charge you extra money to use them. Our family has no interest in using or taking it and there are so many better ways to travel. The timeshare is an exhausting ball and chain that we have to free ourselves from! It was a terrible experience overall. We just can’t take it anymore. After years and years of trying to make it work, trust us, it doesn’t and it won’t!
      We advise everyone to avoid it. It’s not worth the trouble or cost! We hope that this story will stop more innocent people from getting sucked into something like this. Stay away from them, they’re just a huge hassle with no rewards! You’ll thank us later!

      Be careful dealing with Holiday Inn, especially if you are a senior citizen. When I stayed at Orange Lake in 2017, a salesman took advantage of my age and the fact that I am a widow. He intentionally used my late husband’s memory against me saying that an upgrade would “honor him” and help me heal. He was so focused on the pitch and flying through documents, he did not give me all the information I needed to make an informed decision. This means I had no idea how expensive this really was since I never saw the interest rate. Then there are hidden fees that no one talks about. In fact, if I just knew about the maintenance increases, I would have said no. Being that I did not get a copy of the contract until 6 months later, there was nothing I could do to cancel, they are making my life quite difficult and they just don’t seem to care that they are ruining my life!

      The timeshare deal for a cheap 4 night stay seemed great to just say no for a few hours at a timeshare presentation. Sadly, some family things came up and am no longer able to take advantage of the deal. When I called to cancel the booking and to get my money back like I was told when signing up for the deal, I was told there is nothing they could do. Thanks for stealing my money and offering no way to help.

      Update: Thankfully I was able to get a refund after posting the original review. Slightly lessens the blow, but would never sign up for something like this again with how rude the lady was on the phone when trying to cancel the trip.

      My wife received a call offering us a villa for 3 nights dates were discussed and payment of 249 was made. Then she gets a call back about no the dates was not available. She asked for our money back which they agreed to. Said 7 to 10 business days. Over 2 weeks no money back. She called talked to a manager found out the money was never refunded but now the dates was available and would give us a extra day for there screw up. Couple days later guess what? The dates was not available and no money returned. This is a scam and we will do all we can to get our money back for real. Do not expect anything but lies from ihg.

      !!!! THIS IS A WARNING FOR ALL PEOPLE WHO ARE TARGETS FOR HOLIDAY INNS MANIPULATIVE GAME!!!

      Holiday Inn told us we would be attending an “informative seminar.” If the workers use these words around you, run in the other direction. Because we fell for their game, we spent around 4 hours under intense pressure to purchase a timeshare with them. All the glamour they told us about, like getting vacations easily and cheaper, this being an investment and it basically paying for itself were all lies. Over $2,000 and almost 2 years later, we have only been able to take ONE vacation??? Holiday Inn, I did not know your work ethic consisted of stripping away people’s hard-earned money by lying to them in the most ridiculous and inhumane ways.

      By far the worst timeshare to ever purchase. Spread the word these people push you into buying and then hit you with extra fees. My timeshare isn't even enough points for a full week and are charging me a full weeks maintenance fees.
