I WOULD HAVE LEFT A 0 STAR RATING, BUT THE SYSTEM WON'T LET ME, SO THE RATING IS 1. Holiday Inn Club Vacations continues to defraud us of our maintenance fees that do not even go to the resort in which we own a deeded share. They do not send us billing statements in what we can only assume is an attempt to cause us to be delinquent and therefore take away our benefits. We have owned this timeshare for 27 YEARS!!!! We no longer have access to the resort where the property is deeded.
Holiday Inn Club Vacations wanted us to give up the deed and buy into their points system for $96,000!!! Are you freaking kidding me? Why would I pay money for points when we own the week outright? Then the salesman said he would do us a favor and knock the points price down to $26,000, bottom offer. We told him what he could do with the offer.
We pay exorbitant annual maintenance fees to a resort that we don't have access to. We were told the fees were going to the Villages Resort when we own at Lake O' the Woods. When will this ridiculous racket get shut down?Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

I truly felt bamboozled and felt like I was being scammed while talking to a representative whom wanted to book for a four day stay. Which I'd had to use within 2yrs. He mentioned nothing about a tour until after he received my information on top of all that I never received and email with no confirmation or any proof of purchase the confirmation number he gave me didn't work at all. I called to verify and wasn't even in the system. What a tragedy, being told you can stay anywhere in Cacao Beach FL just as long as I stay at any of their hotels I will get cash back . Only to say you have to do the tours, after collecting my payment. That's very misleading. And I am highly upset.Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

Holiday Inn Vacation Club is overwhelming in every negative emotion for us. We cannot imagine owning this financial disaster for generations like some have. We have only been “Members” for about a year and a half, and we are determined to end our affiliation with them at this point.
Our first experience included an enormous amount of pressure from their sales personnel. During the meeting, we were told that we could take vacations all over the country at a fraction of the price. We were also told that this was something we could pass along to our children after we died. These are two selling points that won over our business, but we have since discovered them to be outright lies. When we attended a presentation to review our contract and were introduced to a quality assurance officer. He asked us if we were enjoying ourselves, to which we replied “yes”, but also remarked on the difficulty we’d been having in booking vacations. He then stated that for us to receive better treatment in the future, and to have better luck booking vacations, we would need to upgrade to 300,000 points, which would put us in the Preferred Platinum membership. Excuse me? So, what we purchased doesn’t afford what we were promised? We need to “purchase” reasonable treatment? Our current contract has a high interest rate totaling $93,000 and that won’t get us a reservation!
Do not believe them when they say, HIVC is an exclusive real estate purchase that would allow us to earn side income by renting out our week in the years we don’t plan to travel. There is nothing exclusive here, everything is available to the public online (even if the Owners cannot book via their ownership). “Your only financial responsibility was for the mortgage and maintenance fees.” They omitted fees for RCI, booking fees, point transfer fees and in some cases housekeeping fees. And finally, “We have a buyback program”, which is blatant misinformation to manipulate your decision making.Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

We want to terminate our contract. Holiday Inn Club engages in predatory lending and employs highly unethical business tactics to coerce people into buying a product that really holds no actual value. If we had a moment alone to properly think through what was being offered, we would’ve ran. We were never informed that we had a window of rescission. Had we been made aware of the law allowing us to cancel our contract, we would have done so immediately. This was never a point indicated during our signing process. Nowhere was the process defined or the steps to do so lined out. We were mailed the owner's packet with the deed and the paperwork after nearly a month. This was after the rescission time that was touted by the company's paralegal. We were rushed to sign the contract under duress. There was an impending tropical storm in the region.(********************************************************************************************************), which the staff used as an excuse to refuse our many requests to leave. During Covid-19, when there was a travel restriction in place, our maintenance fees continued to rise. Holiday Inn salespeople insisted that buying a timeshare was a more cost-effective method of taking vacations than traditional hotels. After doing the math, we’ve discovered that this was a blatant lie. In order to even use our timeshare, we would have to pay club fees to make our reservation. We’ve checked third party sites like Priceline or Hotels.com and have found that it’s far cheaper to stay at their resorts without being owners. We were told that this was an investment that would grow over time. The “mortgage” holds no value at all and can’t be claimed as anything on taxes unlike what we were told. The deed we received has no tangible location. The salespeople told us that this could be passed on to our heirs. After some investigation, we’ve found that this is a manipulation of inheritance laws.Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

It has been our privilege to host
families for memorable vacations for over 40 years, and we always want our
members to have a great experience with our Club. We’re sorry to hear of
your disappointment. There is resort inventory behind every vacation
ownership contract we offer, and we regret any confusion about this.

As an IHG platinum Elite member for years, I received Holiday Inn Club Vacations marketing email and was offered this sales pitch to give them $249 as collateral so that I could stay at a resort for discounted price. I didn't know this is NOT the IHG group I have stayed with before, until after I paid for the package. I quickly realized this is a SCAM. I tried to book a stay at Lake Tahoe right after purchasing, but was told not available. However, I could not get my money back. Since then, I have received numerous emails from the company for booking. I've been checking the web site frequently, but could never find anything available at locations I chose. Also I noticed the resorts offered through this program is shrinking, a few locations offered before were removed. Today I talked to an agent for booking again. No surprise, you can't get any availability for locations you are interested. The agent was trying to talk you to book resorts they want you to go. It sounded to me, they don't care about your experience, all they want is to get you there to listen to the timeshare talks. I don't think I can use this purchase for anything and demand the full refund for my payment.
This practice needs to be investigated so that consumer rights are protected.Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

Holiday Inn Vacation Club is NOT the company one has come to expect when you hear “Holiday Inn”. We got lured in with an offer to go to Myrtle Beach for a weekend and a “deeply discounted” rate. Free would have been too expensive given the outcome of our experience. We must have said no, a hundred times, yet here we are stuck with a huge financial commitment, for a product that has ZERO value.
After repeatedly insisting that we weren’t interested in purchasing anything, they continued to pressure us until we felt as though we had no choice but to sign a contract. Shockingly, after hours of hearing offers that started at $90,000, once we broke down to purchase a much lower level of commitment – the document signing felt like a live auction. Very little time was spent on the terms and conditions, regardless of our questioning. Once we stepped away from the sales scenario, we understood more clearly, we had been scammed. They presented a price comparison between the timeshare and traditional vacations, but it was completely fabricated. When factoring in the cost of a regular vacation, they included airfare, rental cars, daily spending, etc. However, they left all that information out when presenting the timeshare cost, even though it would be required legally. We have since learned that our point value was greatly exaggerated while costs were understated. It is completely ridiculous that we are paying the amount of money we are for such paltry returns. Wish us luck! We wrote the CEO of the HIVC explaining how we were defrauded by the timeshare sales staff. Detailing the fraud, deception, and pressure, we also demand to be released from this greedy contract immediately, to which we have received no reply.Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

Do not buy a timeshare with Holiday Inn. Pay no attention to the “free” stuff they offer. As an active-duty soldier in the US military, I was drawn to the travel options that the sales agents described in the presentation. What you actually get is nothing like what was promised. The whole thing is a scam. They pestered me and my husband for hours, describing their timeshares as a wonderful way to travel for less. If you want the most complicated and expensive way to travel, then Holiday Inn is the best option. Nothing is clear; the room inventory is horrible, and they constantly break their promises on the things they offer. They lied to us when they said that with a 40,000-point plan, we would pay approximately $150 a month, fees and additional costs were not taken into account. At the sales presentation, after hearing all the lies they successfully deceived us into agreeing to buy. We began to sign the contract and that's when the sales agent rushed us through the process. We were already exhausted from hearing them sell the timeshare for several hours. Details of actual cost and loan information were overlooked because they rushed us and only focused on the positives which while sounding great were non-existent. Had the information been presented to us clearly and completely, we would never have agreed to purchase a Holiday Inn timeshare. If the sellers weren't so pushy and fraudulent, we never would have gotten entangled in this useless timeshare. They never told us the period we had to terminate the contract and that the authorities should investigate the fraudulent sales tactics they use. We have a list of multiple violations that occurred when this was sold to us, and we plan to take this to the authorities and possibly seek resources and legal assistance from the military. Not only are they doing this to military families but to other innocent people too. It’s shocking to see that they are getting away with this sort of predatory and unlawful sales practicesHoliday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

Holiday Inn applies the worst pressure you can imagine from any sales presentation you’ve ever attended! Their sales reps are like robots and don’t comprehend certain words…like NO. I told them NO to their offers somewhere between 15-20 times. Every time I said NO, they would drop the price and tell me the offer was only good that day. I don’t travel often, and money is often tight, so I was not sure that this was something that made sense for me to purchase. I asked if I could take a day to research this opportunity and they said that this was a one-time deal. They would pull the offer at the end of the day, and I would never see an investment opportunity like this again. I felt that I had NO CHOICE but to say yes. WHAT A JOKE! I can’t believe I fell for this scam. They are exactly like how everyone on review sites describes them…don’t fall for their lies and become another number like me!Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

So Holiday Inn Club Vacations randomly reached out to me by phone and gave me this sales pitch to give them 249 dollars as collateral so that I could go to some meeting at a free hotel of my choice and that I would get the money back after the meeting. Well plans changed and I cannot make that meeting so I asked for my money back. They said it was "non-refundable". What do you mean "non-refundable" I didn't buy a product or service here. You guys were going to give it back anyways. How can you sit here and tell me it's "non-refundable". You take my money hostage until I listen to what you have to say. Tell me what you have to say over the phone then and give me my money back! Don't even waste your time with these guys and don't even give them collateral money on the promise of a free hotel. There is nothing free about it. They'll take your money and run!Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

If you already have a Holiday Inn timeshare, I hope you find a way out. If you don’t, take this as a warning and NEVER do business with them. All they have caused me is stress and financial strain by lying to my husband and I. We were manipulated from the get-go during the initial presentation. The salespeople noticed that I was pregnant and essentially told us we’d be bad parents if we did not take a deal that would provide dream vacations for us and our child.
After being promised luxury vacations, I have been incredibly disappointed. Everything is booked, there is little to no reservation help, and money is just being thrown away. When I have voiced my concern, the only option is to throw more money at the problem and buy more points but then the cycle just repeats. We were talked into buying Signature points which would also cover our annual maintenance fee, but in reality, it only covers about $250 of it. Telling us we could refinance the ridiculous interest rate was another sales ploy. I cannot find any reputable financial institution that will help with timeshares. Every time I turn around, I uncover another lie.Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated
