      I am completely fed up with HICV after being loyal to them for the last 9 years. I am tired of being lied to and mistreated, all while spending thousands upon thousands of dollars. I was tricked into believing I was buying real estate, not a traditional timeshare. Tricked into more presentations and subsequent "upgrades" by being invited to update meetings. Coerced with information about passing this "investment" to my children (while never telling me that my children would take the financial burden as well). The last contract was never even given to me, so I had nothing to reference to uncover the truth of what I bought. When I finally got a copy, I was FLOORED when looking at the insane interest rate and total loan cost, but by then it was too late to cancel. I'm sure this was done on purpose. Every interaction I have had has been subpar and filled with misinformation. If you are reading this, please take this as a warning not to interact with this horrible place!

      About the same as everyone else I just read. It has been a horrible experience dealing with them. They just flat out stole my $299. Me and my wife try to book several times.

      Absolute scam. Sales rep made a bunch of claims about the ease & usefulness of owning a Holiday Inn Club timeshare. This has been nothing be a loss of money with absolutely no services provided. When you need assistance expect to wait on the phone line AT LEAST an hour. I tried to book one vacation, and after finally getting thru to their representatives, they told me I could not book a vacation because some of my points have expired. When purchasing I was told that points never expired and I could save points in order to book a larger party in the future. W e have had nothing but stress,frustration & anger since being sucked in, and we can't wait to hire lawyers to get away from ...cannot do it fast enough.

While it is true that IHG Rewards Points never expire, our Club Points must be used within 2 calendar years, unless they are transferred to IHG. This is an option our members have, and it's popular so we do mention it during our tours. In light of the frustration you've experienced, we've asked the team to reach out to you.       This company is a complete scam. They operate as one with the broken record responses. We purchased our timeshare a few years back. The sales lady made a number of promises. We explained that we are a military family, planning trips a year out isn't something we can do. She guaranteed us along with not 1 but 2 "sales managers" that with our points as long as we made the reservation within 30 days regardless of the time of year we were "golden". We'd have absolutely no issues getting in Orange Lake. They said that's a perk of being a member. Turns out that's a complete lie. We were told that carrying points over is as easy as a click of a button at no charge. That's a lie. They attach a $199 fee to carry over points not used. Points we couldn't use because we couldn't find dates within our travel timeframe. The points that we were promised would get us a vacation anytime of the year, seems to always be 50k-60k points short each time. To "rent" points to make up the difference would be an additional $660 on top of the thousands already paid. Now we are paying on a timeshare we can't use and maintenance fees for property we aren't at. Stay as far away from the scam sales pitches and fake promises.

      Holiday Inn sales reps lied to us about the reality of this ownership program. For example, I was told that I could easily rent out the timeshare to help cover the costs but that has never happened. They said that our cost would be consistent but the fees associated keep going up and up making it harder to afford this obligation. I have even seen many people trying to give their timeshare away for FREE to avoid to the rising costs of ownership. I am furious that paid thousands of dollars for something that can't even be given away! This was a horrible decision that I was misled and heavily pressured into making. I have made many attempts to get this corrected with Holiday Inn but they simply say no and to pay my obligation. They completely deny what I was told but it seems many others have been told the same thing.. It seems Holiday Inn are the manipulators here not the thousands of UNSATISFIED owners.

      I definitely should have read these reviews before purchasing the timeshare on Friday December 30,2022. I am now very nervous and scared that I might have just made a big mistake and poor investment.

      My relationship started with Holiday Inn Vacation Club is probably pretty "stereotypical", while vacationing with my family, I fell into the "just one-hour" presentation, a hard-core sales pitch. Four years later, I've never been able to use my timeshare and I am doing nothing but paying more fees than ever. From the get-go, they hit me with fees that were never disclosed and still have not been explained. A lot of these fees are for maintenance to a timeshare I don't get to use due to a lack of availability. It was never explained to me that even if I didn't use the timeshare, I would still have to pay the maintenance fee. To make matters worse, this maintenance fee keeps going up every year! I have paid thousands in maintenance fees since I was manipulated into purchasing this timeshare in 2018. It is cruel that Holiday Inn Vacation Club manipulated and lied to me into making this purchase and that I should continue paying, especially after everything that was sold to me has proven to be a mountain of lies. I don't think that I should continue paying thousands of dollars a year due to a grift run by a greedy corporation that trains its employees to deceive, pressure, and bully customers into purchasing timeshares. I've paid more than $8,000 for ZERO vacations, I don't think so!

      Holiday Inn and their employees have no issue with extorting money from their clients. Our headache began when we were invited to attend a meeting with their sales staff in Orlando. We thought that the $200 we were promised was worth the 2 hours of our time that they asked for. Instead, we were forced to stay for over 5 hours of continuous pressure to make a purchase. Every time we asked to leave, we were told that if we did, we would not be eligible for the $200 "gift", plus the staff had taken our IDs, so there was no way we could leave. No matter how many times we said that we could not afford to make this kind of purchase or that our children were waiting, they DID NOT STOP. To make all this worse, we were told that the maintenance fees would be a set amount and would never change, but they go up every year! To date, we have had a 68% increase in these fees, and it never ends! We cannot rent it out as promised, it has no value, and the availability and booking process is so complicated that we cannot even use it. Do not get me started on their terrible customer service! I wish that we had never heard of these people. Stay as far away as you can!

      DO NOT BUY HOLIDAY IN CLUB VACATION TIME SHARE ITS A SCAMM! Its a waist of money! We bought and initial 50k points. They made it seem like the best investment ever. Its not no way to actually book anything. All the dates and times are apparently booked by grandfathered members. But if you want to pay out of pocket they will gladly take your money. You can never book anything. We financed this because we are a family of five. So we thought this was a great investment to save money on all the family vacations. Turns out we just ****** it all away. Then we went back for a member meeting. We wanted to say NO because of our experience already. They would not take no for an answer we were there for 8 hours back and fourth saying no and they kept digging until we gave in and upgraded. The finance manager assured us we can call with any questions and book what we needed and we try but never pans out. This is a major scam they pray on the families that don't have money and are on a fixed budget. Worst experience ever. Nobody ever helps. They make it seem like the best vacation package so easy. So many locations to go to and still have not ever been able to book a vacation with the holiday in club vacation club. IF YOU GO SAY NO!!!!!! They just keep getting you with yearly maintenance. I would not mind paying maintenance if it was something I could actually enjoy. Now with out fixed income I have to try to hire a lawyer to get out of this horrible position I put my family in. Monthly payments that could actually go to a real vacation not the dream they trying to sell you. And when you ask them to buy it back they say no it is yours forever until you pay it of then they tell you that you can relinquish the shares and only then you will no longer be accountable for the maintenance fees. So no I have to pay over 20k to holiday in just because they got me to believe in their product. Its all lies its a way to generate income for their lavish resort. Worst thing I have ever done!

      I joined HICV in 2021. The convenience offered and the level of detail in explaining the program was a huge draw for me. With my busy schedule, I figured this would provide great travel/vacation options, until I run into a payment issue a few months in that was handled so poorly, it made me pause. The customer service experience made me deeply regret joining HICV. I hadn't even received any billing statements. Later, it dawned on me that the methods HICV used to reach me indicated a lack of transparency that should have been disclosed during the sales pitch. Equally concerning, my bank flagged payments to HICV as suspicious activity. I tried setting up automatic payments myself via the payments site and through a different bank but realized I could only do this by calling into customer service. As a consumer, I don't understand why I can't set this up myself. This also contradicted the convenience of the program that was communicated during the sales pitch. Considering all the calls placed regarding offers, etc., when calls are related to account issues, the reps should be clear about that in their messaging. Moreover, in a day and age when spammers are getting creative daily, masked calls from HICV begs the question why there's a need to appear as something other than HICV, and if there's a reason for this, communicate it with customers during the onboarding process. From a collections perspective I get it, but for a new customer, I can't think of a faster way to lose trust. I pay all my bills on time and like to have control over how I make the payments. I have all my other payments on autopay but the trust I had with HICV is gone. Worse, their main and payment sites are not secure. I'd been unable to make a payment for weeks because the link wouldn't open. The convenience that was communicated to me is completely lacking. I now find myself stuck making payments on something that I have no intention of using or recommending.
