I stayed in an IHG hotel that I was impressed by so I joined their membership club. This led to a cold call today from Holiday Inn Vacation Club in Orlando. I took the call out of respect for IHG and the agent there transfered me to HICV in Orlando. After the initial chit chat and transition to sales, I tried to politely explain that I would never purchase a vacation club/timeshare membership. The agent became sarcastic, nasty and kept going. I told her I thought this call was polite at the start but now it's negative worthy of a complaint and she said go ahead and complain. I repeated that there was zero chance about purchasing anything and she said that when never mentioned purchasing anything and in the next sentence said I could book a 4 day trip and something about $249. Stopped her there again and I told her I didn't want to hang up on her and she ignored me saying she was going to finish her offer and I could hang up if I wanted to. She started back up and I knew she would ignore me no matter what. I know this stuff happens but I didn't think one arm of an organization would have such callous disregard for the entity I had done business with previously (IHG) and treat prospects so disrespectfully. Honestly it's depressing that this type of business strategy exists and this person is quite comfortable and good at resorting to pure negativity and nastiness when prospects are trying to respectfully decline an offer. No thank you. Never. Hope I can stomach going back to the awesome property (IHG Chattanooga) that led to this.Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

This is a horrible company to get involved with. First they will offer you a $200 gift card to go to an hour presentation (It will not be an hour, it took the whole afternoon. Then after the tour, they take you to a room and pressure sell you and call different people in if you do not agree to buy. They finally worked us down and we agreed to buy in at the lowest level. We then were taken to an office where we met with an officer who walked us through the documents to sign. We went ahead and signed. After doing some research and reading others experiences, I decided it to cancel. Do they tell you how to cancel when you sign? Nope. The instructions are buried in the contract documents. I finally found the address and mailed my letter to cancel my contract. That was back in October. After over a month of no response, I decide to call. I get bounced around departments until I get forwarded to the Quality Assurance at Orange Lake in Kissimmee Florida. When I call all I get is the voicemail and no one has ever called back even after I left one. Given that they have not responded to my letter and are not returning my calls, I am convinced that they are simply ignoring me in the hopes that I will just give up and keep paying. Avoid them at all costs.Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

Don't waste your money, don't believe the lies, don't even give Holiday Inn Vacations the time of day! My wife and I have been stuck in this timeshare nightmare since 2019 and it's made the prospect of vacationing miserable. All the promises made were false. Every reason we bought into HICV turned out to be bogus. The contract signing is designed to hide the lies told by sales. Each time, we were sped through the process with no clue what we were really signing because we trusted what the "experts" told us. Unfortunately, we do not own real estate as we were told. They also said the value would go up and the timeshare would be easy to sell. NOPE! I've looked online and people are unloading their timeshares for a single dollar! We haven't even been able to use it since there's such limited availability. We have essentially been throwing money at a company for nothing. Worse yet, they won't cancel our contract!Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

Someone tell me why we have a contract with Holiday Inn but cannot use it to take vacations? Let me explain: I have a monthly mortgage payment and an annual maintenance fee payment but have to go into my pocket for additional fees whenever we take a vacation. I was told they would assist me in renting out my property for additional income...what they really mean is they will give you the phone number to an expensive advertising agency to assist you which leads to more money out of pocket. They tell you the maintenance fee won't increase, but they have every year. They promised Holiday Inn will buy this back - but they won't, that was one of the primary reasons we purchased. Lastly, they tell you this is a sound real estate investment - I totally disagree...it's nothing more than debt. Why do people buy Holiday Inn timeshare? I believe the only explanation is the salespeople intentionally overvalue the product, lie to hardworking people about availability, tack on an endless amount of fees without disclosure and use unethical and dishonest practices to convince people to buy.  Could you imagine how many timeshares would be sold if they told the truth? LOL, zero, zip, nada!Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

We're sorry this has been an unpleasant ownership experience. With over 40 years in the business, we're still a family-owned company, and we value as much as ever the families and guests who come to spend their precious vacation time with us. We are appreciative of your feedback and the opportunity to make things right. A member of the management team will be in touch with you soon, in hopes of addressing your concerns more personally.Review fromDan W

We have been loyal customers with Holiday Inn Club Vacations for 10+years, and IHG reward members for 12+years. I am not normally one to write a review good or bad. But after reading some of these reviews, I am not the only one that seems I have been sold a bill of goods. We were told when we purchased this "vacation experience" that it would be the easiest way to spend time away from home. Far from it! I have tried to book weeks numerous times and have been told everything is full. The long weekends we did book, always cost more than my points, not to mention the constant hounding from their associates asking for us to buy more options from the minute we walk in to the time we leave. Then there is the bill issue. Every year it seems that the bills increase for this, that, and whatever. There is nothing more frustrating than paying for things they say you "own" but cannot use. Now, I understand that we signed up for this, that is 100% a fact. But my wish is for anyone that reads this review, please make sure you do your homework and do not fall for the bill of goods they try to sell you. It is definitely not worth anything close to what you will pay for the remainder of your life. The good news here is I am getting good leads on how to get out of this mess, but going forward, I will definitely speak my mind on this company going forward.Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

TOTAL SCAM! STAY AWAY! Received a phone call from IHG saying since I was a Diamond elite member there's a vacation club special I should take advantage of. It was $250 for a 5 day/4 night vacation at one of several IHG locations to choose from and all I had to do was sit through a 2 hour presentation and then get reimbursed the $250. Thought sure, why not? Sounds good! Turns out this was a big, big mistake. I chose the Cocoa Beach location. Should have known something was fishy when they had me stay at an old run down Holiday Inn Express and not the actual resort that was pictured when I signed up for my presentation. It then went from bad to worse when my wife and I arrived for the presentation and were told that we were disqualified from the presentation because we're not currently employed (we're both self employed and work project to project so were in between projects and could do this trip which I purchased) This was never communicated to me when I bought this vacation package. They couldn't answer any of my questions and instead gave me a piece of paper with a phone number to call. Then my credit card ( which I used to purchase the package 8 months ago) was then unauthorizedly charged for $475. Now I'm out for $725 to stay at a run down old Holiday Inn Express that I would have never stayed at in the first place! I'm also a Diamond Elite member ( spent a lot of nights and money with IHG throughout the year) and IHG credit card holder. I will now not stay at any IHG properties from now on and will be canceling my card too.Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

Hi, thank you for your response. By the time this review had already been submitted, Holiday Inn Vacation Club reached out and said they're going to refund the $475 charged to my credit card. I feel this is an equitable solution so the matter has been resolved. BillHoliday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

If you get an offer from anyone, connected to Holiday Inn Club Vacations, keep on walking. I have long utilized Holiday Inn as one of my choices for work travel. Over the years, we had been successful in declining their timeshare offers that did not work for our family. When we got the opportunity for a mini vacation to Lake Tahoe in 2022, we jumped on it, as we were happy to have the opportunity to travel again post-pandemic. Upon arrival, we were told we needed to attend a 1-hour presentation which turned into a hard-core sales pitch. Then came, what equates to a shell game, with a fast-talking Salesman and his Manager who introduced us to the following series of LIES. 1.) A "foreclosed" unit, cheaper than the other available units. 2.) It would increase in value, and we could sell it at a profit in the future. 3.) HICV Resorts are PRIVATE and only accessible to Owners. 4.) We would have special access to Disney Resorts and Theme Parks. Somehow, we ended up purchasing. We walked out of there feeling like we were just taken advantage of, and we didn't feel it was a pleasant experience. A few days later, we decided we should cancel immediately. We called the Tahoe team; it was THEN that they informed us we were too late and only had 5-days to legally cancel. They never told us, and it wasn't until I scoured the contract and found it on page 25 of a 72-page contract that they completely glossed over. We have also come to realize that when they took our driver's licenses, they ran an unauthorized credit check. We have never used the timeshare and based on the lack of availability and the thousands of reviews online complaining about lack of availability, we doubt we'll ever get a reservation. We are FURIOUS!Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

We're so sorry to hear you've experienced some disappointment in your ownership, as this is never our intention. With over 40 years in the industry under our belt, we've been privileged to hosts families and provide better vacation options as we grow. Many of our owners love to come back to their "home away from home", knowing they'll always have a getaway waiting for them each year. As the Points system has grown in popularity, so has the opportunity to explore. With 28 properties, exploring is exactly what we want for our owners! We do take pride in our transparency, and we must never feel so far away from our owners that they cannot tell us what they need in their vacations; we regret the shortcomings in communication. We want information regarding the cancellation of our contract. We have not been able to use any vacation with you for over 15 years. As a cancer survivor I have costly medical bills. Your ever increasing maintenance fees have become a budgetary stressor that we can no longer endure. We asked about maintenance fees during the high pressure sales pitch, but it was always brushed aside and no one told us they would end up costing more than an actual annual vacation. A vacation that, buy the way, we would be able to schedule on our time and in the location we wanted to choose. Please contact us immediately with instructions on how to put an end to this.Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

Beware of the scam that Holiday Inn Club Vacations are perpetrating against existing timeshare owners. We owned with Silverleaf since 199 and were fairly happy, however that all change when Holiday Inn bought them and conned us into their program in 2016! The factual omissions, misrepresentations and outright lies combined with failing to live up to their word makes us regret ever getting involved with Holiday Inn. Now that we are growing older, we certainly don't want to saddle our children with this mess. When we purchased, they said this was supposed to be a real estate investment, not a plethora of ever-increasing maintenance fees which will pass onto our children, which they cleverly failed to disclose. We are both retired and living off the hard work we did in our younger years. Holiday Inn sold us a membership we can't resign from, and one with never-ending expenses and fees. We've paid well over $50,000 and no longer have any mortgage obligations, so why won't they let us out!Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated

How many full time staff does Holiday Inn employ to manage thee onslaught of negative reviews? This is actually the only site where I see staff copy and paste the response that they will have someone contact us personally. There are other review sites with hundreds of negative reviews and Zero responses from management! We just left Vegas, staff was lovely! Accommodations not so much! We got to enjoy (not) the constant smell of weed through our vents, in a non-smoking resort. The furniture was hard, filthy, smelled, old and miserably uncomfortable to sit on. We had our children and Grandbaby join us for Thanksgiving; we left and went to families house: Try washing the couches and chairs once a year, better yet replacing them this century! Pull out bed was like sleeping on the tile floor! This company's higher ups are pathetic, do you not care that 99% of your reviews are ONE star?? I won't even get into the lies and deceit that come from the tours..Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated
