I am also an owner that has been deceived by its benefits which at first glance look simple, but they are more interested in telling you no, than creating solutions for the big price tag I paid for the property. I would hope that the BBB would more of an advocate for us as 216 people have complained. I am unimpressed at the Marriott responses on this page and their customer service which repeats the same message over and over again. How can Marriotts CEO stand for this type of business practice. I am in the process of contacting the board of directors to discuss my dissatisfaction and if nothing comes of this I think a class action lawsuit is in order.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

For over 1 year, Marriot has ignored our attempts to cancel our timeshare ,we owned for almost 10 years and have only been able to use this timeshare for one local trip. There’s never been any availability in the places we want to go like they promised there would be. We’d hate to leave this financial burden to our children. So we would appreciate Marriot with us to give back this worthless piece of property.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

I apologize for the challenges Josefina ***** is having with her ownership. Unfortunately, an exit option for ownership is not something we can guaranteed as it does depend on business conditions. We are also unable to guarantee availability at our resorts and recommend owners reserve their stays 12 to 13 months in advance. This information was provided in Ms. *****'s purchase documents at the point of sale.Review fromBeatrice O

I emailed the advocacy department on the company’s website to discuss why we
want out of our timeshare. I was nearly immediately asked to call, and so I did. It
was here that I had the displeasure of speaking with Ms. Natalie. She was
extremely rude, and barely gave me any opportunity to talk about the troubles
that I had with the company. It was very frustrating to be talked over and ignored,
but what really did it was that she made me uncomfortable. I don’t know if I ever
want to speak with these people again. If this is the treatment that can be
expected, I would REALLY like to get as far away from this as possible. We did
not understand what the presentation was about and they took advantage of us
being naive. It is the worst decision I have made in my lifeMarriott Vacations Worldwide

I'm sorry to hear of the challenges Beatrice ****** is having with her ownership. After the point of sale, owners are provided with their purchase documents in order for them to review and understand. If there are any concerns about the purchase, the owner has the right to rescind the purchase during the 10-day rescission period.Review fromCharlotte W

We were going to expand our timeshare with Marriott Vacation Club. We currently have two timeshares with Marriott. Our last vacation was in Miami Marriott Vacation Club Pulse, South Beach. After signing the documents 26Jun2023 (actual closing scheduled in 30 days), we reached out to the agent on 3Jul2023 via email, questioning our next loan payment (as he informed could skip next payment) and got no response. Then I emailed again on 6Jul2023 with concerns and copied 2 additional Marriott Vacation Club staff members and got no response. We emailed again copied 3 Marriott Vacation staff members on July 8th and still got no response. Finally, got a response on 11Jul2023 informing, we were out of the 10-day window to cancel, although no one responded to us. The Sr. Sales Manager informed the agent would call us but still not one called us. What kind of business is this? Is it a con sales game? We have been with Marriott Vacation Club 10+ years and Marriott Bonvoy member 20+ years, we are very disappointed in this service and ignoring contacts. We have been loyal Vacation Club owners. Unfortunately, we had to contact an attorney so that he could stop the closing. The attorney informed that he could stop it but still going through this process is very frustrating.
Please DO NOT purchase timeshare from Marriott Vacation Club Pulse, South Beach & Villas at Doral – Sales & Marketing, *** ********** **** *** **** ***** *****, FL 33139.
They will not respond so that you can pass your 10-day recission period. Hopefully, Marriott will return as a trust company again.UPDATE:
This issue has been resolved. The sales manager responded, and my purchase was cancelled.

I wish BBB would let me leave a zero star rating! Owning a timeshare was supposed to be an effortless, enjoyable experience, but it's been the exact opposite. Since becoming an owner in 1993, we have only been able to use our timeshare 3 times. After 5-6 hours in the presentation, we finally caved and purchased a timeshare, we were told exactly where to sign and not given enough time to read the contract. The salesman told us this was only a formality and that everything had already been explained to us, and once we got home, we could go over it again. We've never been able to book a trip that works with our schedule, we always had to work around whatever Marriott had available at the time, which was not the deal we agreed to. We also live on a fixed income and cannot afford the maintenance fees which go up 4% every year (this was also not told to us). Marriott is a deceitful company who's main focus is money, I do not recommend them to anyone. If you want to actually take vacations, stay away from a timeshare. I originally submitted this review by mistake on the Marriott BBB review. What I saw was that Marriott states that it is not affiliated with with Marriott Vacations Worldwide. First of all, when we originally bought our timeshare, the claim was how great it is that the companies are one and the same. Secondly, after reading the reviews here, I plan on ending my Marriott Bonvoy relationship as soon as possible, including my credit card. I have been a member for nearly 30 years. I am a Platinum Elite member and Gold Elite Lifetime member. There are several Great hotel chains that I can join instead.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

I'm sorry to hear about the frustrations Christopher ********** is having with his ownership. After reviewing Mr. ************ profile, I can see that they his original 2 properties at the Marriott's Villas at Doral, then purchased Destination points in 2013 and again in 2017. Mr. ********** has been on numerous vacations using his ownership over the years. We do understand there is an abundance of information provided during the points of sale, this is why we ask the owners to review their purchase documents during the 10-day recission period.Review fromJasmine C

Marriott's timeshare program has been a complete disappointment and an exploitative scheme. We have been paying members for almost a decade, yet we've only had three sub-par vacations to show for it. The staff's promises of luxurious getaways at beaches and ski resorts were nothing but empty lies. Instead of addressing our concerns about availability, we were continuously pressured to purchase more points.
The lack of transparency is appalling. We were never provided with a public offering statement, information about loan interest rates, or details regarding increasing maintenance fees. The most appalling thing they neglected to mention was that the contract would be forced upon our heirs without their consent. This to me equates to a type of indentured servitude. This deliberate omission at best is dishonest and deceitful.
The sales presentation we attended was a nightmare. We were crammed into a small room and subjected to confusing jargon, convoluted graphs, and manipulative tactics. The representative brushed off our questions and misled us about the monetary value of the points, urging us to think of them as "memories." The pressure to buy was relentless, with threats of price hikes if we didn't succumb.
Booking vacations with our points was a headache, with constant unavailability and the absurd requirement of booking a year in advance. The quality of the accommodations deteriorated with each visit, resembling standard hotel rooms rather than the premium experiences we were promised and had been paying for.
Just recently we sent a letter addressing these concerns and asking them to cancel our contract. Their reply was basically " you signed the contract, too bad." As senior citizens, we would like to warn everybody about their fraudulent programs. Marriott's once-trusted name has been tarnished by this dishonest and manipulative operation, and it's time for them to rectify the situation and compensate those they have taken advantage of.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

My experience with them has left me feeling extremely disappointed, frustrated, and taken advantage of. The issue stems from the lies and deceit that took place during a purchase at
this establishment. My family and I explained to the female representative at Marriott Fairfield about our disabled daughter's needs and the fact that we were unable to afford the timeshare. We have not used the timeshare because we have not been able to keep up with these increasingly high fees, and we tried to use it once but were unable to find availability. Unfortunately, the timeshare has become a financial burden for our family, and it is severely impacting our ability to purchase a home, especially given our disabled daughter and ongoing medical expenses.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

I'm sorry to hear of the challenges Harry ****** is having with his ownership. Although, we are a separate program than Marriott Fairfield and Marriott International. We did provide Mr. ****** with his purchase documents during his points of sail in August of 2019. They sold my senior citizen parents 2 timeshares. They were not mentally stable or in their right mind to buy these. They cannot afford to pay any longer and I will be filing a class action case regarding this and sharing this all over social media. It is a horrible scheme. This scheme needs to go government level and a law should be enacted against this.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

I'm sorry to hear of the concerns Lou ****** has with his parents purchasing. All details of the ownership including fees and dues are provided during the point of sale. It is not possible for our associates to know or ask if an individual is "mentally stable" to purchase.
