I had a bad experience as a Marriott timeshare owner. The salespeople were dishonest and didn't tell me about all the fees. They pressured me to “invest” in a program that wasn't fruitful and I regret signing up for it. Salespeople promised to transfer my father's week for free if I attended a presentation, but it was a high-pressure sales pitch. I tried to cancel my contract, but the staff tried to convince me otherwise and offered another program that also turned out to be useless. The points have very little value, and I could never find any availability. I prefer staying at ******** during my vacations these days since they are more reliable, pleasant, and affordable. If you are thinking of investing in a Marriott timeshare, be cautious and do your research. Make sure you understand all the fees and the legal rescission period. Don't let the sales personnel pressure you into making a decision you might regret later!Marriott Vacations Worldwide

I'm sorry to read of this owner's experience. At the points of purchase, owners are required to sign and acknowledge that they agree with all the fees associated with the ownership, the 10-day recission period, and that availability is not something that we can guarantee.Review fromBrad F

Worst investment of our lives. We spent over $25,000 for points that we could not use. You should not have to spend significantly more money for more points in order to have the ability to book a trip when and where you would like. Also, I had to make muliple calls had to be made to receive rental car vouchers. Nothing is ever done correctly and you can expect long hold times and several angry phone calls to get something you paid for. The company does not do as promised and it is a huge scam. We actually sold our points to a reputable buyer and Marriott exercised their right to buy the properties back. Once again I am getting a complete runaround regarding the disbursement of funds that are not even 25% of what we paid. I received an email stating funds would be disbursed 7-10 days after May 10th. It is June 5th and nothing. Nobody answers the phone and when they Dodd I was told that the settlement department does not have a phone. I can’t even talk to someone. Please don’t invest your hard-earned money for this scam. I promise you that you will regret it!! Oh, plus you have almost $2,000
In annual maintenance fees for properties you can access. That is the price for a vacation. I hope this will peace one or two people or couples from making this mistake. I honestly would not want anyone I cared for to invest in this scam.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

I'm sorry to hear of the concerns Mr. ****** had with his ownership. Marriott Vacation Club has over 500,000 owners who have access to many resorts all over the globe. Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee availability at our resorts which is disclosed in the original purchase documents, as well at the annual Maintenace Fees. It does appear that the transaction closed, and Mr. ****** received his funds.Review fromKevin N

This company has not responded to my last attempt to contact them and I am trying to go over the issues that I have had and am now continuing to have. However, I can never seem to make any headway with the conversation. It’s just the same dance, over and over! Why are they so determined to keep an unhappy customer who was lied to? It is frustrating because we deserve better! The whole experience is not at all what we expected, and the being ignored more recently seems like the cherry on top. This is very unprofessional behavior. This company needs to let us goMarriott Vacations Worldwide

I've been a Marriott member since 2002(Titanium). I bought a timeshare in orlando in August, and have had a horrible experience since. The salesman, website and customer service all suck. all the things I was promised never happen, and the only time I get in contact with anyone is when a mortgage payment is due, and nobody can answer any other questions other than payment. I refused to pay the maintenance fee and Marriott allowed the times share to audit my Bonvoy account that has nothing to do with the vacation club. My 100k plus points, and my account signin I no longer have access to. Excellent treatment for 20 plus years of loyalty and over 100k spent. Done with Marriott and will sell the timeshareMarriott Vacations Worldwide

I'm sorry to hear about the challenges, Mr. ***** is having with his ownership. In the purchase documents Mr. ***** signed and agreed that if he is passed due on any owner dues, his Marriott Bonvoy will be locked until he becomes current.Review fromAbdul T

If I can rate MVC zero stars I would. I was sold this degenerate vacation package back in 2017- Since then I have used it to travel 3 times, the maintenance fees keep going up every single year and If I can even save 1 person from making this mistake that would be good for them but wouldn't matter to MVC corporation. I know nothing will even come from this review, as I read all the other dissatisfied customer reviews but I just need get this off my chest.
For such a large organization that takes people's millions of dollars they have absolutely no remorse. My 2022 Points (2000 points) have completely gone to waste. On accident early in the year I transferred 1000 Points to my Bonvoy Rewards account which I called and they were suppose to send back never happened, I was then left with 1000 points that had to be used by June 2023 with some lousy options, first even with the request being sent up to a "supervisor" that got back to me in 4 days telling me the same thing he told me 4 days before that they cant bank the points and I missed the "DEADLINE" and its a "system thing". When I bought the MVC they sold me on the fact that points never expire. Long story short I transferred it to Interval which I'm already assuming will be a complete waste of another 1000 points. Again, I really don't think anyone is really going to care about this but hopefully someone will read all these negative reviews and not make the same mistake of getting yourself into such scamming type of purchase. Travel will essential cost a lot less then getting yourself into such a terrible headache of a program. As one of the reviews below say RUNNN!!!!!!!Marriott Vacations Worldwide

I'm sorry to hear about the challenges Mr. **** is experiencing with his ownership. In the purchase documents, it does specifically state that the Maintenace fees can change. It also provided details about banking points into the future use year if an owner is unable to use the points during the specific use year.Review fromJennifer D

I feel completely scammed. We have reached out to marriott in las vegas where my husband and i purchased the "vacation club ownership" and have nothing but issues since. No one calls us back or emails. I can not access the website because their system can not find me. Per an online chat they state only 1 person can have an account and enjoy the perks of the platinum status elite. This is absurd. I am also an owner and take my own vacations but they are telling me i have to book under my husband and he has to be present in order to enjoy the perks of platinum status and the vacation club ownership. This was never explained to us. If so why would i have signed as an owner?? If i can't book my own vacation club experience and enjoy perks of platinum status??? Again no one from Marriott responds. I still can not book the mini vacation for myself. I expect to have my status updated to platinum elite, have an owner account in my name, and be able to enjoy the so called vacation club perks i am paying for. This is just ridiculous.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

I apologize for the challenges; Mrs. ** ** **** is experiencing. The details about the Marriott Bonvoy program are conveyed in the purchase documents in which it states only one owner can receive the status upgrade with Marriott Bonvoy.Jennifer D

And again tried to book with my husband a mini get away and were told the days selected are not available to owners but we can pay 4k to book the 4 days at the same resort as a nonowner. What ever. We again reached out to the Las Vegas team that sold us the vacation package with again no response. So basically we were scammed. ALSO, we were told one thing by the sales team and they failed to deliver. As marriott stated we should have read the documents more thoroughly. Except the offer the sold us, we were told was a today only offer once we leave that is it. We really should have known better. And I still don't have access to the owner site, keep getting the run around.Review fromMartin B

I bought a vacation package to Paris that included flights. I paid extra to get seat reservations on the flight. Apparently there is some kind of deal between Marriot and the airline that makes you a second or third class airline customer. Delta keeps changing my flights and extending travel time. But here’s the worst part: airline will not talk to me because not a normal reservation. Took me 2.5 hours just to get a human being at Marriot. The chat lady did not know how to do anything (apparently not with Marriot but some third-party off-shore customer service contractor). When I demanded to speak to a live person from Marriot, another hour, then got someone else off-shore who asked all of the same questions and then couldn’t help me. Needed to refer me to their “airline specialist.” Now have been waiting over thirty minutes to talk to whoever that is. DO NOT BOOK WITH MARRIOT VACATIONS! They treat you like cattle, they get some kind of discounted airline ticket so that the airline treats you like a second-class ticket holder and bumps you for a better paying customer (likely with Marriott’s agreement). And if you want to speak to anyone human who knows what they are doing, forget it. Do yourself a favor and book hotel and flight directly. Forget Vacations by Marriot.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

We are very sorry to hear about Mr. ******* frustrations; however, he has filed his complaint with the wrong organization. While the names of our organizations are similar, Marriott Vacations Worldwide is a separate company with from Vacations by Marriott. Vacations by Marriott is a subset of Marriott International (hotels). We encourage Mr. ***** to contact Marriott Customer Care at 800-228-9290 for any concerns related to Vacations by Marriott.Review fromGustavo A

Amenities are good and the staff is friendly. Issue is they are very misleading in their promotions. They have a last night on us promotion. In where they pay for your last night. In the form they give you it does not state that you have to sit through a time share presentation in order for them to honor the promotion. Extremely disappointed in the way the manager Kristian ******** handled our conversation. Will be canceling my future already booked stays at this hotel.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

I'm sorry to hear about the frustrations Mr. ****** had with the promotional offer. In order to receive an incentive such as a 1-night credit, a 90-minutes sales presentation is required.Review fromAnise J

I genuinely hope that if you are reading this, you have never had the displeasure of working with Marriott Vacations for a Timeshare. If you have, I’m truly sorry, especially if you have dealt with anything like my sister and I have.
Salespeople at the Newport Coast Villas location fabricated and left out so many important decision-making details during the sales presentation. To me, that means we were fraudulently pushed into buying a timeshare for almost $30k. The only reason we were even comfortable doing this is because Marriott had a buyback program and a strong brand. We were told, if changed our minds, it would be no big deal we could get out of the contract. Except it is a big deal because the buyback program doesn’t exist! Now we are stuck with an ever-increasing debt that will be passed to our children, another tidbit that was left out. We cannot even refinance like they said we could! According to Marriott, the only thing we can do is pay off the entire loan balance if we want to get rid of it. I thought that was a joke. Apparently not…Marriott Vacations Worldwide

We apologize for any confusion that may have taken place about Marriott Vacation Club's resale program. In review of Ms. ****** account, we see that she acquired 2,000 ABOUND Club points on August 14, 2021. While our organization does have an Exit Services department, buying back an owner's interests is never guaranteed. The resale program can be turned on and off at the discretion of the organization depending upon several business factors. This information was disclosed to Ms. **** at the point of sale on a Quality Assurance Checklist that she signed and initialed. Since Ms. ****** Club Points are considered deed real-estate, complete with a mortgage note, it will be necessary for her to sell her ownership interests and satisfy the associated debt before a transfer of ownership can take place.Review fromBrian L

1 starWe bought 2500 points in June 2022 and while we purchased we also bought an additional 4 day 3 night trip back to the Las Vegas Grand Chateau for $1000. The sales person(Eakin #*******) NEVER mentioned we had to do another 90 minute presentation for the MVC. We already bought the timeshare so why in the world would we do another presentation? Also, your representative (Charles) at Encore is completely unprofessional. He kept talking over me and was a complete asshole if I’m being frank. He was a smug, arrogant little prick. Check your records for a call at 4/24/2023 11:15am MST.
If someone could please figure out a way for us to skip the presentation that would be great. I think everyone can agree this is the dumbest business plan known to man if you make us do a presentation for a product we ALREADY bought!!
Finally, we told our sales person Tyler who has since left the company we would not use the points the first year since we wanted to do a big trip with our family in 2024. Well you obviously can’t bank your first years points so that was a scam. We may lose our first year because of that situation. I will say Bobbi at Customer Advocacy team is trying her best to help us with that. So thank god for her as well as Rick ******, Dustin ******* and Claire at LV Grand Chateau for checking in to see if this has been resolved.
I think we will ultimately like MVC but they definitely need better communication skills and customer service in certain aspects. I think the only time I’ve ever felt more disrespected than how Charles at Encore made me feel was dealing with DISH satellite and Xfinity which is saying something!!! IYKYK
