We are a Marriott owner and get pitched every time we stay at a resort. Usually, avoid the sales presentation, but decided to go for the $250 incentive while staying in Orlando Grande Vista last spring (2022). Big mistake!
Of course, there was the usual pressure after we repeatedly said "no." The icing on the cake was when the "closer" said, "you know where the elevator is" and dismissed us after the final refusal. Rude, unprofessional and inconsistent with a brand that prides itself on "hospitality."Marriott Vacations Worldwide

We are very sorry to receive this type of feedback from Mrs. ************ about her recent sales preview. All Marriott Vacation Club sales executives are trained to provide guests with a professional, informative and low-key presentation that highlights the benefits of vacation ownership with Marriott. We have shared this review with the sales leaders in Orlando to ensure that all of our future owners and guests do not have a similar experience.Review fromRobin R

RUNNNNNNNN FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I have never in my life dealt with more incompetence (and, quite honestly, what now feels like a scam) than MVC. In August 2022, my son and I enjoyed a trip to Maui through MVC, which was easily booked in 2021. The room was subpar and the timing was not right to invest with MVC, so I decided to pay $995 for an "encore package" to see a different property. I decided I wanted to travel to either Aruba or St Thomas for Christmas Break in 2023, so I called WELL in advance to book my trip. I was told I could not book because those dates would only be released 10 months in advance. Fast forward to Feb 26, 2023 when I set my alarm to call bright and early and book my trip, exactly 10 months in advance. I called and was told there was no longer availability because the dates had already been booked up. Sorry, what? Oh, yeah...they were released a few days earlier and snatched up. Now I am told the dates are only released on Fridays, and they were released and booked up the Friday before. Obviously really angry and frustrated, I decided to shoot for Vail in Feb of 2024. I called AT LEAST 10 times to find out when the date I wanted would be released, and was told something different every single time. I was told to "call frequently and check." I was told to call every Friday. I was told to call on 4.21.23 because dates will definitely be released by then, 10 months in advance. So at 9am on 4.21, I called and was told the dates had not yet been released and to call back at 930am. I called back at 930am and was told there was no longer availability for the dates I wanted. WHAT?? A supervisor was supposed to call back to discuss this, and of course nobody did. I have spoken to 3 different people today and everyone keeps passing me off because nobody can explain how I am supposed to book a property when none of them are ever available. Massive disappointment- I feel I have been scammed out of $1000. Don't make the same mistake!Marriott Vacations Worldwide

We are very sorry to learn about Mr. ******** dissatisfaction while attempting to reserve dates using one of our highly discounted promotional packages. All travel dates are subject to availability. Christmas breaks is one of the most highly desired travel periods at our Caribbean resorts. As a vacation ownership company, our first obligation is to our owners, who have made a substantial investment to become Marriott Vacation Club owners. Due to high owner demand, it will be difficult for Mr. ****** to use his discounted promotional package to arrange holiday travel dates at any of our Carribean resorts. There are plenty of open travel dates for Mr. ****** to use his package; however, some flexibility may be required on his part. Mr. ****** is encouraged to contact our encore package office at 888-357-9227 to discuss alternative travel options.Review fromM. F.

I have been trying to deed back or get rid of my timeshare with Marriott Vacation Club for financial and family reasons.
I recently spoke with Jose, a Customer Advocate, who told me that, since I was still making payments, there was nothing I could do to get out of my current timeshare other than to not make any further monthly payments and let them take it back, or pay it off completely and let them take it back.
Why is there not an option in the middle here for me to voluntarily sign it over to them right now.
Either way, it is going back in their name. But one way costs me A LOT of money, and runs more risk for me. If I am getting out of this regardless, then why can we not take care of it now under different, AGREEABLE, terms?Marriott Vacations Worldwide

The ownership interest that Mrs. ********** acquired is considered to be a form of deeded real-estate, complete with mortgage. As an ethical mortgage bank we must abide by federal rules and regulations for mortgage debt collection. Unfortunately, it is not possible to simply cancel the debt that is associated with Mrs. ************ ownership interest. If Mrs. ********** would like to exit her ownership, the best way for her to do so would be to sell her interests on the external market and use the proceeds to pay off the mortgage loan.M. F.

"Ethical"??? It is surprising to see that word chosen to describe yourselves. Your "ethics" did not seem to matter when your sales rep spoke to us about the ease of use and the fees associated with ownership; and your customer advocates suggestion that the only way for us to get out of our timeshare was to not pay and let it go into foreclosure. This response is extremely poorly thought out and not acceptable. I am convinced that you're ok making this as difficult as possible.M. F.

We purchased points based on the vacation options presented to us during the sales presentation; however, none of the trips planned for us were actually available based on the number of points we purchased. We were clear that we are not resort people at all. When I complained to corporate, the sales person admitted via voicemail that she misled us and had to ask her leadership if in fact the options she presented us were actually not available to us. We’d need to purchase 4500 more points to access the trips she planned with us. We are flabbergasted that she admitted via voicemail that she in fact was not knowledgable about what she sold us and that she misled us. Exploring legal options, especially given the admission that we were in fact correct in understanding we were lied to.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

According to our records Mr. **** acquired 2,500 club points on January 18, 2023. Sales executives provide many different examples of how perspective purchasers can use the program to plan fantastic vacation experiences. The number of points required for a particular vacation will vary greatly depending upon several factors including length of stay, travel dates, resort location, etc.
Ultimately, Mr. **** decided to purchase 2,500 club points. He is welcome to bank his points into the following use year, thereby giving him 5,000 club points to use for a more expensive vacation experience. Each new purchaser is provided with a 10-day rescission period during which time they are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the vacation ownership program and may cancel for any reason. Unfortunately, after the 10-day rescission period has ended we are unable to undue the purchase transaction.
Mr. **** is encouraged to contact our Owner Services office at 800-845-4226. Our Vacation Advisors are professionals in the program and can help Mr. **** maximize his ownership to the fullest potential.Review fromalvin h

I submitted a complaint with this company recently, and I have not heard anything from Marriott in
regards to it. I mentioned that I did not feel as though it was fair that I was being made to keep this
property since I was lied to. They will not offer me anything unless I reach DEEP into my pockets
and give them money to pay this thing off first. Why is there nothing in place for people who have
been tricked? As I mentioned in my complaint, all of the information needed needs to be provided
before anything is signed. There is no reason that people should be realizing things after this is all
said and done. Then, I also wonder why a company that looms as large has no policy in place for
this. There has to be something out there that can be done. I will not believe otherwise.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

Mr. and Mrs. ***** have made more than one purchase of Marriott Vacation Club Points since they became owners in January of 2017. We have not received any form of complaint regarding being deceived for either purchase during their 6-year tenure as owners.
As an ethical sales organization, we make sure that each owner receive a full set of their purchase documents and the disclosures about the vacation ownership use plan. Mr. and Mrs. ***** also received a detailed Quality Assurance Checklist that highlights the benefits of ownership, as well as the reservation procedures. Mr. and Mrs. ***** have used the program for its intended purpose.
Our organization does not have a repurchase program for club points. Mr. and Mrs. ***** are welcome to list their ownership interests for sale on the external market for a price that they deem fair and reasonable.Review fromALLAN L.

We tried to reach out to Marriott on more than one occasion to exit our timeshare but all they send us is bills. No responses. We'd like for someone to reach out to us and open a line of communication so we can get out of this mess.
Thank you in advance.

Mr. *** currently owns 5,500 Marriott Vacation Club Points. His ownership interests are considered to be a form of deeded real-estate. It is not possible to simply exit the vacation ownership program. In order to relinquish ownership of his interests Mr. *** will need to list them for sale and sell them to a different individual. Any mortgage and/or maintenance fee debts will also need to be settled prior to the transfer of ownership taking place. We do have a resale office that is dedicated to advising owners who wish to relinquish ownership for any reason. Our resale associates can offer helpful advice to Mr. ***. The telephone number to our resale operations office is 866-682-4547.ALLAN L.

I didn't need a reiteration of what we "own." There will not be a repayment on the loan since it was upsold to us. Why in the world would we pay off the ownership if it is not at all what was promised. What are you going to do to help us?Review fromSonia R

I would give 0 stars if possible!! Horrible company, lie to you to sucker you in to a timeshare and then relentlessly pursue you for money and wanting you to purchase more. You are forced to go to their 'presentations' every time you have a holiday at one of their resorts. Do not trust this company under any circumstances. I had a nightmare of a time trying to get rid of the damn thing after being screwed over on 'maintenance fee's' for years. I am not living in USA either so dealing with them was a nightmare. Call us was all i ever got-bit difficult when there is a 16 hour time difference! I repeatedly asked for emails, even that was too difficult as they had written my email down wrong and also my address-a completely different country from where i live! I mean how hard is it to read a form (i have extremely legible handwriting) We were lied to and told the company would buy back the timeshare from us if we ever decided we no longer wanted it. We had to go to an American Embassy, bring our own witnesses (2) and pay for our signatures to be witnessed by a authorised person. Then send all the documents by registered post. I was forced to pay for the following years maintenance fee's (to keep the 'account' open they said?!!) and told i would be refunded once they received our documents and the property was back in their name (free of charge i might ad!) Cue 3 1/2 months later, multiple emails where i repeatedly asked them to do a bank transfer as my bank does not except foreign cheques they told me the refund had been processed. When i asked how, 'by cheque' I mean seriously?!! These people are so unbelievable to deal with. I wrote an angry email back repeating i need a money transfer, 'oh that has to go through another department'!!! Eventually i received the money transfer minus the fee's to send it so they screwed me out of another $30. One last FU i guess. It’s finally over thank god!! Please beware and stay far away from these con artists.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

Mrs. ******* was an owner of 44,000 Sheraton Flex Options. Her original purchase date was in September of 2015. During her tenure as an owner Mrs. ******* successfully arranged several different reservations at The Westin LagunaMar and Sheraton Vistana Resort. We are disappointed to receive this negative review after many years of vacation ownership.
As a convenience, our resale operations office offers owners the opportunity to deed back their ownership interests in the event that they are no longer able to travel. The deed back program does require the ownership interests to be mortgage free and current on all maintenance fee payments. Since this type of transaction involved deeded real-estate owners are required to follow the appropriate protocol for transfer of ownership, which includes signing ownership transfer paperwork, getting the paperwork notarized, etc. We are sorry for the complexities involved during this transaction due to Mrs. ******* living abroad. Our records reflect that the deed back transaction was finalized as of November 28, 2022.Review fromCLWH

I have been a MVC member for about five years. i had a sales presentation at Oceana Palms in Florida in February. i changed to an Abound program that cost a bunch of money in part because i was told the annual maintenance cost increases would be limited and compared to the annual percentage increases in maintenance costs i was told had taken place would ultimately save me a bunch of money. The sales rep said i should call him if i had questions. I had many questions, having thought about the statements he made to me and concluded they were erroneous. i called multiple times and did not get a call back. i spoke once to the sales manager who seemed nice and said she would get me the answers i would need. But that was weeks ago and she has not come back to me with answers. Disgraceful, unprofessional behavior. i intend to explore legal counsel.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

We are very sorry to receive this negative review from Mrs. *********. In review of her ownership profile, Mrs. ********* has purchased club points several times in the past. In fact, this is her fifth purchase of the same exact product form - Marriott Vacation Club Points. Maintenance fees coincide with the number of points owned and are calculated on a per point basis.CLWH

First of all, i am a man, not a woman. Second Marriott misspelled my name in their reply. Third, they completely failed to address the specific issues i raised in my write-up. I want them to address these concerns and address the lack of responsiveness now that they made a sale. Their sales manager made alls orts fo excuses regarding why the sales associate who worked with me couldn't reply and assured me she would reply promptly. Needless to say she has not.Review fromAnneMarie D

TERRIBLE!! We are current owners of Vistana/interval international which was recently taken over Marriott vacation club. Rebecca Wishart set up a zoom timeshare presentation to discuss MVC with a promise of a $350 visa gift card in exchange. I never received the gift card and this marketing executive stopped answering my calls and emails in regards to the gift. I’m so glad I didn’t join. They are scam artists at its finest hiding under MVC nameMarriott Vacations Worldwide
